A few changes in Ruislip E7: Extend E7 from Ruislip Station to Ruislip, Hume Way either via Ruislip High Street and Eastcote Road OR via Ruislip Manor Stationa and Windmill Hill. This will sort out the problem with stands being filled up at Ruislip and will enable new connections if the route via Ruislip Mnr is chosen. At the same time, its shopping hour route should be withdrawn to decrease journey times U10: Minor diversion from West Ruislip to Ruislip via Wood Lane and West End Road, to make up for the lost link if the E7's shopping hour route is to be diverted. There are already very little services along that part of the E7 and diverting the U10 is the most appropriate as it will retain the connection to the High Street and passengers can still ride the E7. 398: Extension from Ruislip Station to West Ruislip Station. This too will help free up stand space at Ruislip Station and provide a new link to West Ruislip from areas such as Eastcote, Rayners Lane and Ruislip Manor itself. 278: Very minor change however it should be extended 1 stop from Brickwall Lane to Ruislip Station itself IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. TfL made the weird decision to switch its terminus and pick up stops not too long ago and it has confused both passengers and drivers as some drivers still set down and stand at the wrong stand however extending it into the little bus station will eliminate that confusion. Another change I propose is that 278 should be a 24 hour route, considering it finishes and starts very early anyway 114: Introduce a new night service from Mill Hill Broadway to Uxbridge via the U1 from Ruislip until Uxbridge. This will allow passengers to essentially have a night service along MOST (I know Rayners Lane and Eastcote wont be served) of the Metrolpolitan and Piccadilly lines to Harrow and with the 24hr 278, those wanting Hillingdon Station can transfer onto that instead as I'm not sure DDs can run via the U2's route past Hillingdon Station. Where would the 398 stand at West Ruislip?

Where would the 398 stand at West Ruislip? Oak Avenue (Stop L). There are a few stands usually used when the Central Line has rail replacements working but most of the time is empty otherwise EDIT: If youre wondering how the 398 would get to those stands it would terminate at West Ruislip (Stop L) carry on out off service and turn left onto Aylesham Drive before then turning onto Heacham Avenue. Then the buses will turn right back onto the main road to stand at Oak Avenue (Stop L). There is space for about 2 or 3 buses there which is more than enough for the 398. Buses then can either start service a stop early at Oak Avenue, or proceed to West Ruislip to start service

242/N242:Withdrawn, replaced by routes 67/308 67:Extended from Dalston to Aldgate replacing route 242.Withdrawn between Stamford Hill and Wood Green, and extended to Meridian Water (Glover Drive Tesco) via Tottenham Hale308:Withdrawn between Homerton Hospital and Clapton Pond, extended to Dalston Junction via route 242 and converted to 24 hr service 425: Rerouted via Chatsworth Road instead of Urswick Road 334:New route running between Wood Green and Homerton Hospital replacing 67 to Stamford Hill, and the Clapton Pond - Homerton section of route 425 N67:New Night Route Running between Meridian Water and Tottenham Court Road replacing route N242. (This is a change around of some ideas I had made previously) I saw your ideas and thought they were cool so I thought for the fun of it I'd make a visual route map for them. Hope these look okay! I did make one change though. With the 67, instead of extending to Meridian Water from Stamford Hill, I thought that keeping the 67 terminating at Stamford Hill is fine as you can take either 76 and 341 or 76 and 192 to Meridian Water. Out of curiosity, what software do you use to trace the maps?

Bus changes to 64 and 159 night services, N68, N109 and N250 64 and 159 night services are withdrawn N250 extended to New Addington Vulcan Way via route 64 N68 withdrawn between South Croydon and Old Coulsdon and re-routed to Warlingham via route 403 N109 re-routed via East Croydon in both directions and re-routed from Park Street and extended to Old Coulsdon via route 60, increased to run every 15 minutes. I don't think Warlingham requires a night link at all - can't see any need for any of these changes personally.

Wow, thanks for that, the maps look great! If you don't mind, could you do another map with just the original 67/N67 idea?I mean with 67 going all the way to Meridian Water. Thanks 🙂

A few proposed changes in Yeading
90: Withdraw between Yeading White Hart Roundabout and Northolt Station and extend from White Hart to Ruislip Station via the E7 up to Ruislip Station. As journey times between White Hart and Northolt are somewhat similar (due to Northolt traffic), a diversion to Ruislip would provide that stretch of Ruislip Road with a DD route. It would also support the E7 as that carries a heavy load as a SD route and could provide a faster service to Hayes than route 696, also aiding that route too. Passengers can alight at Hayes Town, The Grapes or White Hart for 140/SL9 (and at White Hart 120 and 282) toward Northolt.
U7: Withdrawn between Hayes North, The Brook House and Hayes, Sainsbury's and diverted via the current 90 all the way until Northolt. To retain links that may have been lost if 90 was to be diverted to Ruislip OR U7 could be go from Kingshill Avenue - Yeading Lane - Coldharbour Lane for Hayes Sainsbury's and if passengers require Northolt, they can use 140.
E2: Extension from Greenford Broadway until Yeading, Welbeck Avenue. As this route follows E9 for the majority of its route, an short extension to Yeading with a minor PVR upgrade will make sure no connections are lost and new connections are made from Yeading to places further from Ealing Broadway.

To alleviate overcrowding on the 132 at North Greenwich...
160... Withdrawn between Eltham and Sidcup Station
332... New route, North Greenwich via the 132 to Eltham and then via the 160 to Sidcup Station 5bph.
The 132 could then be reduced slightly to 5bph as it's probably overbussed at the eastern end, 132 and 332 provide 10bph between North Greenwich and Eltham.
I don't think the 335 should be changed, presumably it was at least partly funded by developers to link Kidbrooke and North Greenwich and buses from Eltham or wherever would probably be well loaded by the time they reach Kidbrooke.

Fair point although I don't think the Bexleyheath end of the 132 justifies the current 6bph so it's swings and roundabouts. Or just add extra short workings on the 132 between NG and Eltham?

Restructure ideas for East London
Eltham/Greenwich area:
SL4 - Not introduced, replaced by changes to routes 132 and 335.
335 - Extended from Kidbrooke to Grove Park, via Weigall Road, Eltham Road, Burnt Ash Road and Baring Road.
132 - Withdrawn between Bexleyheath and Eltham (using the 126 stand), and also extended from North Greenwich to Canary Wharf via the Silvertown Tunnel and Leamouth. Frequency increased. Also adding a stop (unlike the SL4) at the north end of the Silvertown Tunnel, serving the Royal Docks area.
321 - Revised to operate between New Cross and Bexleyheath via the N21, replacing part of the 132.
421 - New route from North Greenwich to Foots Cray, via the 108 to Westcombe Park, 286 to Eltham, and 321 to Foots Cray. Using DDs about every 10 minutes.
B16 - Withdrawn.
126 - Extended from Eltham to Bexleyheath via the B16, and converted to DDs.
286 - Diverted between Eltham and Greenwich, via the B16 to Kidbrooke, then Weigall Road, Eltham Road, Lee Road, Blackheath Station, and the 386 back to Cutty Sark (terminating from the west). Route 386 continues to link Greenwich to Blackheath (Royal Standard), and the 421 covering Westcombe Park to Eltham.
386 - Withdrawn between Blackheath Village and Greenwich (Cutty Sark), removing the indirect loop around Blackheath. Possible short extension in the future from Greenwich to serve new developments in the Deptford area. Frequency increased to every 12 minutes.
Canary Wharf/Hackney area:
D3 - Withdrawn, replaced by revised 100/236, plus the 132 above replacing the section between Canary Wharf and London City Island.
100 - Extended from Shadwell to Canary Wharf, maintaining the loop via Shadwell Station, then The Highway, Butcher Row, Limehouse Station and Westferry, terminating at the Wood Wharf development. Could go via Narrow Street if buses can fit.
236 - Revised to operate between Finsbury Park and Wapping, offering new links across inner NE London, via the current route to Ash Grove, south to Bethnal Green Station, the D3 to Shadwell Station, then Garnet Road to Wapping Station (looping via Prusom Street to turn around). Route 394 continues to link the Haggerston area to Hackney/Homerton, while other routes are more direct for destinations further west.
394 - Extended from Homerton to Hackney Wick via the 236. Increased to every 12 minutes, and dual-door SDs introduced.
277 - Short extension from Dalston to Newington Green (via Balls Pond Road and Mildmay Park).

I've suggested this before but now that the 21 is gone I think there would be quite a bit of merit in diverting the 263 to Newington Green rather than Highbury Barn. It would provide a direct link from Newington Green to Highbury & Islington and go some way to relieving the 393.
I'm especially biased in saying that it'd be nice to be able to alight from the Overground at Canonbury rather than Highbury & Islington, so rather biased in that respect but still think it should be something assessed, the Highbury Barn stand gets overcrowded and should really be left to be used by curtailed 4/19/236s

Not going to comment on almost all of this given it's not really my area but your merging of the 126 & B16 together is unworkable when looking at the running times - max running time of the 126 is 52 minutes & Eltham to Bexleyheath via the B16 routing is 44 minutes putting it over 90 minutes which I don't think is particularly ideal for a TfL route unless there is really is no option. It's why simply merging routes into each other is usually counter productive and only looks great if your a financer rather than a transport provider.

SL4 : would rather this introduced than not 335 : as I’d rather the SL4 is introduced, the 335 can be left alone 132 : as with the 335, the 132 can be left alone if the SL4 is introduced 286/321/421 : all these changes are like rearranging deckchairs on the beach - little point or purpose. The 321/421 change would be particularly unpopular with locals. B16 : I have wondered about localising the Eltham - Kidbrooke leg of this route (let’s call that 416) and making B16 just Eltham to Bexleyheath (starting it at the station in Eltham). If the 126 were extended to Woolwich, the 416 could stand where the 126 does currently. 126 : yes double deckers, not sure the through traffic would be sufficient for it to cover the B16. I’d rather, if it were extended, for it to go to Woolwich via Westmount Road, Rochester Way and current 161 (and for the 161 to get to Woolwich via Academy Road). Only problem would possibly be stand space in Woolwich.
