Brent Park Bus Changes:16: Extended to Wembley, First Way (new direct links between the north of Kilburn High Road, Cricklewood and Wembley Stadium would be created by this small extension as well as creating space for the 232 terminus at Brent Park) 232: Curtailed to Brent Park, Superstores (So it can be eligible to be operated as a double decker route, interchange for 224 or 440 at Brent Park to St Raphael’s) 440: Extended to St Raphael’s (new link created between Wembley Stadium and St Raphael’s which will benefit residents living in St Raphael’s) Let me know your thoughts on this. I think the 16 could be extended even further to Wembley Park ASDA No need, you might as well walk or change for the 206. That reminds me….. I think a 206 extension to Queensbury via Fryent Way, Honeypot Lane and Cumberland Road would be nice. Also, I would extend the 187 to Stonebridge Park Station because of the new developments around that area.

Having lived in Strawberry Hill for some time and been acutely aware of TfL's allegations that the roads are too small for buses I have done a little thinking. There are roads elsewhere in London which are just as small and which are used by buses even if it requires one-way operation on a two-way road to minimise the chances of meeting something big in the narrows. With that thought in mind I have looked at areas currently remote from the existing bus network and in some cases substantially more than the "ideal" of 400m. I am also attempting to "join the dots" in terms of linking trip-generators to make a route worthwhile. The proposed route would not need to be high-frequency. Probably only 2BPH daytimes and hourly in the later evenings. West Cornwall Middlesex Hospital - Twickenham Road - Isleworth War Memorial - Twickenham Road - Mogden Lane - Ivybridge Tesco - Whitton Dene (East Arm) - Whitton Dene (South Arm) - Nelson Road - Warren Road - High Street Whitton - Whitton Station - Percy Road - Whitton Health Centre - Hospital Bridge Road - Manoel Road - Fulwell Park Road - Mill Road - Staines Road - Fifth Cross Road - Hampton Road - Wellesley Road - Strawberry Hill Station - Tower Road (returns via Waldegrave Road and Strawberry Hill Road) - Cross Deep - King Street - London Road - Twickenham Road - Mogden Lane - Ivybridge Tesco. Eastbound down Tower Road gives a better line of sight and turn into Cross Deep than westbound. The left turn from Strawberry Hill Road into Tower Road is easier and wider then the corresponding right turn. That determines the direction of one-way operation through narrower roads. The need is to provide some direct links which are not there now. There is no bus from the heart of Twickenham to the nearest large supermarket namely Ivybridge Tesco. There is no service through Strawberry Hill nor around the Fulwell Park / Fulwell Mill areas. I looked at taking this along Chertsey Road to cover the 969 LOR and serve Lincoln Road but this can only be done as a lengthy one-way loop and I have left it alone assuming the 969 will continue.

92: Withdrawn between St Raphael's North and Wembley Stadium, extended to Brent Cross via route 182 to link Brent Cross and Neasden with Greenford 182: Withdrawn between Brent Cross and Wembley Triangle, extended to Willesden Junction (and later Old Oak Common) via route 18 to relieve capacity on route 18 and to link Harrow with Harlesden 440: Extended from Wembley to St Raphael's North via route 92

Rerouting the 92 would also break a lot of links to Brent Park. Is Wembley to Harlesden really the busiest section of the 18? I'd just advocate for a frequency increase on the 18 (let's have it back to every 4 minutes) and leave the rest as it is.

I like the idea of 92 being rerouted to Brent Cross Shopping Centre but I would send the 182 to Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's to support the 18 more on Harrow Road and I will still go ahead with extending the 440 to St Raphael’s Estate. Concerning the link between Brent Park and Wembley High Road, I would just extend the 16 to either Wembley Central or Sudbury so that the link between Brent Park and Wembley High Road is not broken.

Also the potential to introduce some new links around the Wembley area: 182 - Rerouted at Wembley to Old Oak Common. 297 - Revised to operate between Ealing Broadway and Brent Cross, via current route to Wembley Central, then the 182. Frequency increased to every 10 minutes. 92 - Extended from Brent Park to Willesden Bus Garage, via the North Circular to Neasden Roundabout, then the 297. Maintains the 297's Wembley-Willesden link, but also creating a direct link from Neasden Station to Ikea. Further restructure around the Wembley area:206 - Revised to operate between Kilburn Park and Wembley Central (223/H17 stand), via current route to Brent Park, then the North Circular to Neasden Roundabout, and the 297 to Wembley (via Wembley Park Drive). Fully converted to DDs. Introduces a direct link from the Blackbird Hill area to Brent Park. 223 - Revised to operate between Harrow Bus Station and Park Royal (Iveagh Avenue). Via current route from Harrow to Wembley Park, then the 206 to Brent Park, double run to St Raphaels Estate, then the 224 to Park Royal. Frequency increased to every 15 minutes. Creating new links from Harrow/Kenton to Brent Park, and from St Raphaels to Wembley. 224 - Withdrawn. Mostly replaced by the revised 223, plus existing routes 79/487 to/from Alperton. 440 - Rerouted at Wembley Stadium to terminate at The Paddocks (replacing the 206). 395 - Diverted between South Harrow and Harrow via the 258. Extended from Harrow to replace the 223 to Harrow View, double run to the roundabout at Eastman Village, then continuing via Headstone Drive to terminate in Wealdstone. Either terminating at the Palmerston Road stand, or continuing further east to Harrow Leisure Centre. Providing a link from Kodak redevelopments to Harrow & Wealdstone Station. Frequency increased to every 15 minutes. H17 - Withdrawn. Replaced by changes to routes 258, 398 and 487, as well as existing links on routes 92/182. 398 - Extended from Wood End (maintaining a double run to Lilian Board Way) to Wembley Stadium. Via Wood End Gardens, Wood End Road / Cavendish Avenue, Sudbury Hill Station, then the H17 to Wembley Central, and continuing to terminate at Wembley Stadium using the former 224 stand. Frequency increased to every 15-20 minutes. Providing new links from Wembley to areas to the west, similar to the proposed N518. 487 - Extended from South Harrow to Harrow Bus Station via the 395. Converted to DDs. 258 - Withdrawn between South Harrow and Harrow School, and instead extended to Greenford Station via the H17 and 92.

My idea for route 18 changes. Please dont hate im just having fun with it but lemme know how you feel
Route 18 Extended from Euston top Kings cross Route 18 Withdrawn Sudbury - Craven Park
Route 18 Church End - Kings Cross. New Route Northwick Park - Brent Cross Via 182 to sudbury then 18 to harlesden then 266 to Brent Cross
266 Withdrawn Between Brent Cross and Harlseden, then extended to sudbury (Withdrawn section replaced by new route) 220 Extended to Stonebridge Park Via old 18 route (Terminus and stand at point place)
220 Withdrawn between putney bridge and wandsworth (subject to 414 consultation) (Wandsworth section covered by 270) OR 220 Withdrawn between hammersmith and Wandworth and the 430 rerouted to hammersmith (this is a whole different subject i read elsewhere)
N18 Stays the same N266 stays the same or renumbered to better relfect the day route. N220 Stonebridge Park or sudbury to Wandsworth

N220 Stonebridge Park or sudbury to Wandsworth The 220 should not be removed from Wandsworth, there is a lot of demand for it there as far as White City. When 220s turn to Putney Bridge which is quite regular during busy afternoons it negatively impacts the 270 a lot, to remove one of them entirely would be awful

WCH is now my local. WMH used to be. 369 is available so why not allocate it? I remember it when the 369 was a London Country route from Grays to Brentwood. That's a few years ago now. My theoretical route could come via Twickenham Stadium rather than along Mogden Lane at both ends of the loop but I purposely kept it away from there to avoid the need for diversions on event days. There are more homes along London Road so possibly more traffic to be had.

Route 338 Stratford City to Barkingside (Fulwell Cross) via Penny Brookes St, Leyton Rd, Chobham Rd, Cann Hall Rd, Wanstead Flats, Lakehouse Rd, Blake Hall Rd, Wanstead station, Redbridge station, Redbridge Lane East, Longwood Gardens, Fremantle Road, Barkingside High Street.
I appreciate that Chobham Road would need to permitted to allow buses as its currently a LTN scheme where it meets Leytonstone Road.
The main purposes of this route would be to serve the following functions:
- A better link between Redbridge, Wanstead and Barkingside High Street. Barkingside Central station is a bit of a walk from the main shopping area. - There are a number of school kids travelling to schools on either side of the Redbridge / Waltham Forest boundary, i.e. Wanstead High School, Beal High School. - A direct service along Longwood Gardens to Redbridge station. - A more direct route to Stratford City than the 308. - A service running the length of Cann Hall Road to Stratford City/Olympic Park. And better access to the Bobby Moore Academy for school kids travelling from the Wanstead Flats area.
Route 338 frequency would be 15/20/20. And there could be potiential to extend further into the Olympic Park/Hackney Wick/Here East or south to the upcoming Bow/Three Mills new developments.
Standing would be at Stratford City Bus Station (I believe theres ample space - if not Stratford International) and Fulwell Cross stand outside the library.
Associated changes:
I would do a minor tweak to route 339 to run via Hall Road, Nth and Sth Birbeck Road, Hollydown Way before joining the line of route to Cathall Green. This would see a bus service run through the heart of this residential area, avoiding the High Road Leytonstone traffic that sometimes forms at the Cathall Rd junction and avoid also duplication between the Leytonstone Road/Cann Hall Road intersection and Startford City with my route 338 proposal.
I note that Hall Road is also a LTN and would need to be opened up to buses.
I appreicate that the Central line covers this general routing for the 338, however there are a number of 'in-between' places that the Central line just doesn't quite serve, and the 308 and a combination of other routes do in a roundabout way.
Any thoughts?

Converted to DDs. 258 - Withdrawn between South Harrow and Harrow School, and instead extended to Greenford Station via the H17 and 92. I think these are some pretty solid changes, however I would keep the 487 as terminating at South Harrow as the stands at Harrow are very tight as it is. I think the 398 should not have a double run in the Wood End estate and instead, I propose it runs without the double run straight along Wood End Gardens to South Vale, where it would join then follow the H17's LOR to Wembley. I do also like the idea with the 258, however stands would be an issue at Greenford Station. Buses would have to run all the way down to Greenford Roundabout (or alternatively 395's Westway Cross) and back up to be able to terminate at the station.

Stand space at Harrow Bus Station would be made available from the 395/H17 changes, allowing for the revised 223/487 to terminate there. Extending the 487 is also to partly replace the H17 link from Harrow to the area of Sudbury around Whitton Avenue East. I was already proposing to extend the 398 as you suggest via Wood End Gardens - though as the roads are slightly narrow, buses could use South Vale in one direction and Cavendish Avenue in the other. You could still remove the double run, but there may be some opposition from residents near Lilian Board Road. Regarding the 258 at Greenford, another option could be to terminate in a loop - approaching southbound from Greenford Road, than standing on Rockware Avenue, and returning north via Oldfield Lane North?

Ivybridge currently has no link to Twickenham, which is the nearest town centre and station, so extending the H20 from Ivybridge Tesco to Twickenham would be very useful regardless. Could then go via Strawberry Hill Station, and terminate somewhere near Fulwell or Whitton?
