I would suggest something similar to this, but I think the 92 may be too long to go to Brent Cross, and so a revised 297 could be a better option. Also the potential to introduce some new links around the Wembley area: 182 - Rerouted at Wembley to Old Oak Common. 297 - Revised to operate between Ealing Broadway and Brent Cross, via current route to Wembley Central, then the 182. Frequency increased to every 10 minutes. 92 - Extended from Brent Park to Willesden Bus Garage, via the North Circular to Neasden Roundabout, then the 297. Maintains the 297's Wembley-Willesden link, but also creating a direct link from Neasden Station to Ikea. Further restructure around the Wembley area:206 - Revised to operate between Kilburn Park and Wembley Central (223/H17 stand), via current route to Brent Park, then the North Circular to Neasden Roundabout, and the 297 to Wembley (via Wembley Park Drive). Fully converted to DDs. Introduces a direct link from the Blackbird Hill area to Brent Park. 223 - Revised to operate between Harrow Bus Station and Park Royal (Iveagh Avenue). Via current route from Harrow to Wembley Park, then the 206 to Brent Park, double run to St Raphaels Estate, then the 224 to Park Royal. Frequency increased to every 15 minutes. Creating new links from Harrow/Kenton to Brent Park, and from St Raphaels to Wembley. 224 - Withdrawn. Mostly replaced by the revised 223, plus existing routes 79/487 to/from Alperton. 440 - Rerouted at Wembley Stadium to terminate at The Paddocks (replacing the 206). 395 - Diverted between South Harrow and Harrow via the 258. Extended from Harrow to replace the 223 to Harrow View, double run to the roundabout at Eastman Village, then continuing via Headstone Drive to terminate in Wealdstone. Either terminating at the Palmerston Road stand, or continuing further east to Harrow Leisure Centre. Providing a link from Kodak redevelopments to Harrow & Wealdstone Station. Frequency increased to every 15 minutes. H17 - Withdrawn. Replaced by changes to routes 258, 398 and 487, as well as existing links on routes 92/182. 398 - Extended from Wood End (maintaining a double run to Lilian Board Way) to Wembley Stadium. Via Wood End Gardens, Wood End Road / Cavendish Avenue, Sudbury Hill Station, then the H17 to Wembley Central, and continuing to terminate at Wembley Stadium using the former 224 stand. Frequency increased to every 15-20 minutes. Providing new links from Wembley to areas to the west, similar to the proposed N518. 487 - Extended from South Harrow to Harrow Bus Station via the 395. Converted to DDs. 258 - Withdrawn between South Harrow and Harrow School, and instead extended to Greenford Station via the H17 and 92. I think extending the 258 to Greenford Broadway would be better I think that would be too long as Greenford Roundabout suffers with delays certain times of the day. Also, now with the E6 terminating at Greenford Broadway (permanently allegedly), stands on Clifton Road would be congested with E1, 2, 3, 6 and 11 already terminating there.

Not a bad proposal at all. However, I think the E1 should be extended via your proposed 258 (via Greenford Station, Sudbury Hill and Roxeth) up to Harrow Bus Station. This would do the provide the same new connections your 258 would.

I would route it via Westway Cross, Sudbury Hill, Sudbury Court Drive and Northwick Park Hospital as the route into Harrow. Stand space would be an issue though and I’m not sure if there are any other alternatives without duplicating existing links.

If you were to extend the E1 north of Greenford, something else would have to cover the Osterley extension instead, and I'm not sure which other routes would work. Also I don't think there would be enough demand between Harrow and Greenford for the higher frequency that the E1 currently has. Which is why I suggested extending the 258 - every 15 seems about right. My 258 suggestion also replaces part of the H17, since the H17 already heads in the direction of Greenford (to Sudbury Hill), so cheaper to have just one route on that corridor. The 258 would already provide more capacity north of Sudbury Hill by using DDs (compared to the H17), and the 92 alongside is sufficient south of Sudbury Hill. The best alternative might be to extend the H14 from Northwick Park to Greenford (slightly more frequent), but I don't think there's a need for two routes between Sudbury Hill and Harrow. If a Harrow link is needed through to Greenford Broadway (rather than just Greenford Station), you could just free up stand space by extending the E1 or E2 a short distance up to Greenford Quay - introducing a link to Ealing from redevelopments here. While this would make the 258 longer if extended, it should just about be able to run reliably, as Watford to Greenford Broadway is about the same distance as the 142 to Brent Cross.

That’s a lot of swapping and chopping of long established routes being suggested. If the E1 could not be accommodated anywhere in or close to Harrow Town Centre (to Harrow & Wealdstone would over-bus that section) I would simply extend the 395 to Greenford Broadway with a slightly increased frequency to every 15 minutes during the day and every 20-30 minutes in the evenings. It can continue to serve Westway Cross, then run both directions along the stretch of Greenford Road. Interesting that you mention the Osterley extension. TfL plan to extend the E1 once the Osterley development is ready. The first homes and the relocated Tesco aren’t due to open until 2030, so I can’t see the extension happening before then. By that point in time, we may see circumstances change as it did with the 112 which was the original planned extension for Osterley, before its extension to North Finchley.

The 395 wouldn't help as it's very indirect between Greenford and Harrow. And even if stand space were available at Harrow, I'm not sure you could justify extending the E1 at every 10 minutes through Sudbury Hill alongside the H17. It's not really about serving Greenford Broadway, but linking the new developments at Greenford Quay to Harrow Town Centre - which could be covered by something like the 258 or H14. Harrow-Ealing already has the 483. TFL will have to consider stand space at Harrow anyway, if they go ahead with the Harrow-Barnet Superloop proposal. Though there is then also the question of where routes would stand in Barnet. I think it would be better to just extend the SL9 to Edgware, then introduce a new route from Edgware to Chingford? Stand space is easier to address at Edgware, as some routes could terminate within EW/BT if needed. You make a good point about the Osterley extension, however I think that should ideally go ahead sooner, regardless of progress with the redevelopment. It would help to relieve the busy 65 for more local journeys from Ealing Broadway to South Ealing and North Brentford - plus there are a number of offices around Osterley/Brentford which could benefit from a direct bus to Ealing Broadway.

Extending the SL9 to Edgware would make the route more overcrowded than it already is.

Restructure ideas for the Uxbridge/Hayes/Heathrow area:
Routes 427, 495, H32, U4 and U5 427 - Restored along the Uxbridge Road corridor beyond Southall, terminating at Ealing Broadway. Stand space made available by extending the E1 to Osterley. H32 - Extended from Southall to Hayes Sainsburys via the 427, maintaining this link to Southall Station. 495 - Not introduced (E5 unchanged to Toplocks). U4 - Withdrawn between Prologis Park and Hayes & Harlington, and instead extended to Southall Town Hall, via North Hyde Road, The Parkway, then new roads through the Southall Waterside development, Southall Station and South Road. Replacing both the 495/H32 proposals through the redevelopment. U5 - Diverted between Hayes & Harlington Station and Lavender Rise, via Station Road, Pinkwell Lane, Mildred Avenue, Bourne Avenue, Prologis Park and Stockley Road. Replaces the U4 via Bourne Avenue, though with a slightly more direct routeing. Links to Stockley Park maintained by the A10 and revised 195 (below). Would require some minor road layout changes to allow buses to turn right out of Lavender Rise onto Stockley Road (eastbound).
Routes 278, 497, E6, E7, U1 and U2 E7 - Withdrawn, replaced by revised E6 and new route 497, plus existing links on the E9 and Central Line. U1 - Withdrawn, replaced by revised U2 and new route 497, plus existing links on the U3. 497 - New route between Uxbridge Station and Greenford Broadway, via the U1/E7. Introducing new links, including from Uxbridge to South Ruislip and Yeading. Operating every 12 minutes, using SDs or DDs depending on likely demand. E6 - Withdrawn between Bulls Bridge and Hayes Asda (replaced by revised U7 below). Extended from Greenford Broadway to Ealing Broadway via the E7. Converted to DDs. U2 - Revised to operate between Ruislip Station and West Drayton Station, via the 278 to Hillingdon Station, then Ryefield Avenue and Windsor Avenue (simplified from current routeing), existing U2 to Hillingdon Hospital and the U1 to West Drayton. Replacing parts of the 278 and U1, providing links across the Hillingdon area (avoiding Uxbridge). 278 - Withdrawn between Ruislip and Hillingdon Station, instead extended to Uxbridge via the U2. Also diverted in Hillingdon via Ryefield Avenue and Windsor Avenue (as above).
Routes 195, 222, 350 and U7 195 - Withdrawn between Charville Lane and Hayes & Harlington, instead extended to West Drayton Station via the 350. Converted to DDs. U7 - Revised to operate between Uxbridge and Bulls Bridge, via current route to Hayes (Uxbridge Road), then the 195 to Hayes & Harlington, and the E6 to Bulls Bridge. Frequency increased to every 10-12 minutes (replacing part of the 195, and the U1's capacity between Uxbridge and Hillingdon Hospital). 350 - Revised to operate between Heathrow Terminal 5 and Uxbridge, via current route to West Drayton, then the 222. Introducing a direct link between Uxbridge and Terminal 5. Though unlikely to be funded, could also consider a further extension south from T5 to Staines or Ashford? 222 - Frequency reduced to every 15 minutes, as most of the route will be paralleled by the revised 350 and new route 409 below.
Routes 117, 235, 409 and H28 409 - New route between Heathrow Central and Kew Bridge, via the N9 to Brentford, 65/235 to North Brentford (Ealing Road) and H91 to Chiswick Roundabout, terminating at the former 440 stand on Power Road. Creating new links, including from the Bath Road corridor to Heathrow Airport - and increasing capacity on the Brentford section of the 235. Also serving future redevelopments near Kew Bridge. Using DDs every 10-12 minutes. 235 - Rerouted at Isleworth Station to West Middlesex Hospital via the 117, replacing the 117 here with a higher frequency route. 117 - Rerouted at Isleworth Station to Osterley Tesco, via Wood Lane and Great West Road. Providing a more direct Osterley-Hounslow link. H28 - Restructured at the eastern end to a more simplified route. Revised to terminate at West Middlesex Hospital, going via Syon Lane Station to Osterley Tesco, then Syon Lane and Jersey Road back to the line of route.

The 483 being a Harrow - Ealing route is the same story as the 395; both routes don't use the most direct route to each area and the 483 can take up to an hour and a half from Ealing Broadway to Harrow. Maybe the H14 could be extended down from Northwick Park to Greenford as that is a short route that doesn't already stand at Harrow Bud Station and would solve the problem of Greenford not being linked to Harrow directly.

92: Withdrawn between St Raphael's North and Wembley Stadium, extended to Brent Cross via route 182 to link Brent Cross and Neasden with Greenford 182: Withdrawn between Brent Cross and Wembley Triangle, extended to Willesden Junction (and later Old Oak Common) via route 18 to relieve capacity on route 18 and to link Harrow with Harlesden 440: Extended from Wembley to St Raphael's North via route 92 I would suggest something similar to this, but I think the 92 may be too long to go to Brent Cross, and so a revised 297 could be a better option. Also the potential to introduce some new links around the Wembley area: 182 - Rerouted at Wembley to Old Oak Common. 297 - Revised to operate between Ealing Broadway and Brent Cross, via current route to Wembley Central, then the 182. What about the 223 proposed extension to Oxhey Lane?
