Restructure ideas for the Uxbridge/Hayes/Heathrow area: Routes 427, 495, H32, U4 and U5427 - Restored along the Uxbridge Road corridor beyond Southall, terminating at Ealing Broadway. Stand space made available by extending the E1 to Osterley. H32 - Extended from Southall to Hayes Sainsburys via the 427, maintaining this link to Southall Station. 495 - Not introduced ( E5 unchanged to Toplocks). U4 - Withdrawn between Prologis Park and Hayes & Harlington, and instead extended to Southall Town Hall, via North Hyde Road, The Parkway, then new roads through the Southall Waterside development, Southall Station and South Road. Replacing both the 495/H32 proposals through the redevelopment. U5 - Diverted between Hayes & Harlington Station and Lavender Rise, via Station Road, Pinkwell Lane, Mildred Avenue, Bourne Avenue, Prologis Park and Stockley Road. Replaces the U4 via Bourne Avenue, though with a slightly more direct routeing. Links to Stockley Park maintained by the A10 and revised 195 (below). Would require some minor road layout changes to allow buses to turn right out of Lavender Rise onto Stockley Road (eastbound). Routes 278, 497, E6, E7, U1 and U2E7 - Withdrawn, replaced by revised E6 and new route 497, plus existing links on the E9 and Central Line. U1 - Withdrawn, replaced by revised U2 and new route 497, plus existing links on the U3. 497 - New route between Uxbridge Station and Greenford Broadway, via the U1/E7. Introducing new links, including from Uxbridge to South Ruislip and Yeading. Operating every 12 minutes, using SDs or DDs depending on likely demand. E6 - Withdrawn between Bulls Bridge and Hayes Asda (replaced by revised U7 below). Extended from Greenford Broadway to Ealing Broadway via the E7. Converted to DDs. U2 - Revised to operate between Ruislip Station and West Drayton Station, via the 278 to Hillingdon Station, then Ryefield Avenue and Windsor Avenue (simplified from current routeing), existing U2 to Hillingdon Hospital and the U1 to West Drayton. Replacing parts of the 278 and U1, providing links across the Hillingdon area (avoiding Uxbridge). 278 - Withdrawn between Ruislip and Hillingdon Station, instead extended to Uxbridge via the U2. Also diverted in Hillingdon via Ryefield Avenue and Windsor Avenue (as above). Routes 195, 222, 350 and U7195 - Withdrawn between Charville Lane and Hayes & Harlington, instead extended to West Drayton Station via the 350. Converted to DDs. U7 - Revised to operate between Uxbridge and Bulls Bridge, via current route to Hayes (Uxbridge Road), then the 195 to Hayes & Harlington, and the E6 to Bulls Bridge. Frequency increased to every 10-12 minutes (replacing part of the 195, and the U1's capacity between Uxbridge and Hillingdon Hospital). 350 - Revised to operate between Heathrow Terminal 5 and Uxbridge, via current route to West Drayton, then the 222. Introducing a direct link between Uxbridge and Terminal 5. Though unlikely to be funded, could also consider a further extension south from T5 to Staines or Ashford? 222 - Frequency reduced to every 15 minutes, as most of the route will be paralleled by the revised 350 and new route 409 below. Routes 117, 235, 409 and H28409 - New route between Heathrow Central and Kew Bridge, via the N9 to Brentford, 65/235 to North Brentford (Ealing Road) and H91 to Chiswick Roundabout, terminating at the former 440 stand on Power Road. Creating new links, including from the Bath Road corridor to Heathrow Airport - and increasing capacity on the Brentford section of the 235. Also serving future redevelopments near Kew Bridge. Using DDs every 10-12 minutes. 235 - Rerouted at Isleworth Station to West Middlesex Hospital via the 117, replacing the 117 here with a higher frequency route. 117 - Rerouted at Isleworth Station to Osterley Tesco, via Wood Lane and Great West Road. Providing a more direct Osterley-Hounslow link. H28 - Restructured at the eastern end to a more simplified route. Revised to terminate at West Middlesex Hospital, going via Syon Lane Station to Osterley Tesco, then Syon Lane and Jersey Road back to the line of route. I do like some of your ideas however a few could do with a little tweaks here and there. 278/U2 - I think the connections here are already very good and swapping the routings basically kills the 278 as extending it to Uxbridge would just mirror routes U3/A10 and Ruislip to Ickenham loses their connections to Hayes. U2 also removes Ruislip's onlt other DD route so for that sake, 278 and U2 should stay the same as they already provide very good connections. 497 - I like the new connections that this route brings however I think it should only operate from Uxbridge to Greenford Broadway via routes U1 and E7, with the E7 completely withdrawn and the E9 replacing it from Yeading up to Ealing Broadway. This would give it a much needed capacity boost in that area whilst also retaining connections along the current E7. I'm not too familiar with the other proposals to speak on them but for the most part these do seem pretty solid.

As other posters mentioned I think the 278 reroute would not be a good idea, and the 350 would also be excessive from Heathrow to Uxbridge. Also is there even enough stand space in Uxbridge? From what I've heard on here, one of the most well used links on the 235 at the present time is the Feltham to Brentford link, which would be severed under these proposals. Whilst far from ideal, I think the current situation re routes 235 and 117 shouldn't be changed. LK65EBO correct me if I'm wrong but I think that one of the main problems with route 235 is how poorly run it is. However I do think that there are a few great bits to your proposals, namely the E6/195/U7 bits. Unifying the sections of all three routes restricted to SDs under the U7 would benefit many I would imagine with the 195 and E6 decked. I don't agree with your 495/U4 proposal though, I'd keep the U4 as is and introduce the 495. I'd then extend the U7 as per your proposals to Bull's Bridge, with E6 pulled back to Hayes and decked. Instead of sending the 195 to West Drayton, I'd have it terminate at a new stand found somewhere just north of Hayes & Harlington Station. Not sure where this could go, possibly in the Pump Lane area?

This would give it a much needed capacity boost in that area whilst also retaining connections along the current E7. I'm not too familiar with the other proposals to speak on them but for the most part these do seem pretty solid. The 278/U2 swap is intended so that the revised U2 continued to link Uxbridge/Ickenham to Hillingdon Hospital (currently covered by the U1). But if there is the demand for links such as Ruislip-Hayes, passengers could just change in Uxbridge if needed, or perhaps give the U10 a short extension to Hillingdon Hospital? My suggestion for the 497 already was to operate only between Uxbridge and Greenford. Yes the E9 would continue to link Yeading to Ealing, but would still need the capacity from Greenford to Ealing via Argyle Road, which my revised E6 would cover. The revised E6 could also use DDs (by no longer serving Bulls Bridge), and so increasing capacity at the Ealing end.

Further restructure around the Wembley area:223 - Revised to operate between Harrow Bus Station and Park Royal (Iveagh Avenue). Via current route from Harrow to Wembley Park, then the 206 to Brent Park, double run to St Raphaels Estate, then the 224 to Park Royal. Frequency increased to every 15 minutes. Creating new links from Harrow/Kenton to Brent Park, and from St Raphaels to Wembley. 395 - Diverted between South Harrow and Harrow via the 258. Extended from Harrow to replace the 223 to Harrow View, double run to the roundabout at Eastman Village, then continuing via Headstone Drive to terminate in Wealdstone. Either terminating at the Palmerston Road stand, or continuing further east to Harrow Leisure Centre. Providing a link from Kodak redevelopments to Harrow & Wealdstone Station. Frequency increased to every 15 minutes. What about the 223 proposed extension to Oxhey Lane? I don't think the extension to Oxhey Lane is really needed - it seemed to be more for operational reasons as the 223 was initially continuing out of service to stand at Oxhey Lane. But the 223 now tends to just stand at the terminus on Harrow View. For passengers around the redevelopments, a link to Wealdstone would be far more beneficial.

Route 338 Stratford City to Barkingside (Fulwell Cross) via Penny Brookes St, Leyton Rd, Chobham Rd, Cann Hall Rd, Wanstead Flats, Lakehouse Rd, Blake Hall Rd, Wanstead station, Redbridge station, Redbridge Lane East, Longwood Gardens, Fremantle Road, Barkingside High Street. I appreciate that Chobham Road would need to permitted to allow buses as its currently a LTN scheme where it meets Leytonstone Road. The main purposes of this route would be to serve the following functions: - A better link between Redbridge, Wanstead and Barkingside High Street. Barkingside Central station is a bit of a walk from the main shopping area. - There are a number of school kids travelling to schools on either side of the Redbridge / Waltham Forest boundary, i.e. Wanstead High School, Beal High School. - A direct service along Longwood Gardens to Redbridge station. - A more direct route to Stratford City than the 308. - A service running the length of Cann Hall Road to Stratford City/Olympic Park. And better access to the Bobby Moore Academy for school kids travelling from the Wanstead Flats area. Route 338 frequency would be 15/20/20. And there could be potiential to extend further into the Olympic Park/Hackney Wick/Here East or south to the upcoming Bow/Three Mills new developments. Standing would be at Stratford City Bus Station (I believe theres ample space - if not Stratford International) and Fulwell Cross stand outside the library. Associated changes: I would do a minor tweak to route 339 to run via Hall Road, Nth and Sth Birbeck Road, Hollydown Way before joining the line of route to Cathall Green. This would see a bus service run through the heart of this residential area, avoiding the High Road Leytonstone traffic that sometimes forms at the Cathall Rd junction and avoid also duplication between the Leytonstone Road/Cann Hall Road intersection and Startford City with my route 338 proposal. I note that Hall Road is also a LTN and would need to be opened up to buses. I appreicate that the Central line covers this general routing for the 338, however there are a number of 'in-between' places that the Central line just doesn't quite serve, and the 308 and a combination of other routes do in a roundabout way. Any thoughts? Any comments at all on this one?

Route 305 between Bow Church and Aldgate via Bromley High Street, Edgar Road, Bruce Rd, Bromley-By-Bow, Devons Road, St Paul's Way, Mile End Park, Rhodeswell Rd, Salmon Ln, Stepney, Stepney Green, Mile End Rd, Whitechapel station, Royal London Hospital, Aldgate East, Aldgate.
The purpose of this route would be to serve the densely populated areas and housing estates in the back streets of the Bow and Stepney areas, and linking directly to Whitechapel station for the and Royal London Hospital. The only reason why this route would continue to Aldgate is because I cannot see a better alternative for standing and turnaround on the western section of the route. So if someone has an idea to adress this, I'm all ears.
I did consider extending to Shoreditch via Valance Road and Bethnal Green Rd, as well as nipping down Fenchurch St and across to London Bridge, but I'm not sure what value either idea would have.
The route could partially (not perfectly) address the poor links to the Royal London Hospital from the Limehouse area.
Standing at Bow would be shared with the 205, although it could be a potential candidate for extension into the Bromely-by-Bow / Three Mills future development areas.
Frequency: 15/20/20 and single deck due to the type of streets operated on and the low bridge Devons Road.
When the Elizabeth line bus consultation was launched for East London I was suprised that nothing linking aspects of Stepney was introduced to directly serve the Lizzy line at Whitechapel.

The 395 wouldn't help as it's very indirect between Greenford and Harrow. And even if stand space were available at Harrow, I'm not sure you could justify extending the E1 at every 10 minutes through Sudbury Hill alongside the H17. It's not really about serving Greenford Broadway, but linking the new developments at Greenford Quay to Harrow Town Centre - which could be covered by something like the 258 or H14. Harrow-Ealing already has the 483. TFL will have to consider stand space at Harrow anyway, if they go ahead with the Harrow-Barnet Superloop proposal. Though there is then also the question of where routes would stand in Barnet. I think it would be better to just extend the SL9 to Edgware, then introduce a new route from Edgware to Chingford? Stand space is easier to address at Edgware, as some routes could terminate within EW/BT if needed. You make a good point about the Osterley extension, however I think that should ideally go ahead sooner, regardless of progress with the redevelopment. It would help to relieve the busy 65 for more local journeys from Ealing Broadway to South Ealing and North Brentford - plus there are a number of offices around Osterley/Brentford which could benefit from a direct bus to Ealing Broadway. The 483 being a Harrow - Ealing route is the same story as the 395; both routes don't use the most direct route to each area and the 483 can take up to an hour and a half from Ealing Broadway to Harrow. Maybe the H14 could be extended down from Northwick Park to Greenford as that is a short route that doesn't already stand at Harrow Bud Station and would solve the problem of Greenford not being linked to Harrow directly. If a direct Harrow-Ealing link is needed, going via Greenford wouldn't necessarily be the fastest route to take - might be more direct to go via Alperton (but avoiding Wembley). One option could be to swap around parts of the 487/H17. The 487 could divert between Sudbury Town and Alperton, via the H17 to Wembley Central then Ealing Road - this would also introduce new links from Wembley to Northolt Park and South Harrow. Then the H17 as present from Harrow to Sudbury Town, and continuing south to Ealing, direct via Alperton and Hanger Lane? Could perhaps also take over the 226's local roads between Hanger Lane and Ealing Broadway - this plus maybe swapping the 226/487 between Hanger Lane and Park Royal would allow the 226 to convert to DDs. As well as new links, parts of the revised 226 and H17 would also help relieve the busy 483. Then if new links to Greenford Station/Quay are needed - rather than a through route, extend the H14 from the north, and/or extend the E1 from the south. So resulting in the following: 226 Golders Green to Ealing Broadway, via current route to Park Royal, 487 to Hanger Lane and 483 to Ealing. Converted to DDs. 487 South Harrow to Willesden Junction, via current route to Sudbury Town, H17 to Wembley Central, 483 to Hanger Lane, 226 to Park Royal and current route to WJ. H17 Harrow to Ealing Broadway, via current route to Sudbury Town, 487 to Hanger Lane and 226 to Ealing. H14 Hatch End to Northwick Park, then Sudbury Court Drive, Sudbury Hill Station and the 92 to Greenford Station or Broadway. E1 Extended from Ealing to Osterley, and from Greenford Broadway to Greenford Quay.

Restructure ideas for the Uxbridge/Hayes/Heathrow area: Does Uxbridge need a third- wait no FIFTH bus link to Heathrow?? The A10 provides a direct link from Uxbridge to Heathrow Central, and the revised 350 would introduce a direct link from Uxbridge to Terminal 5. Any other routes (including the unchanged U3) would not be intended for end-to-end journeys, but to link the area in between to both Uxbridge and Heathrow.

Hayes restructure ideas
U7 - Extension from Hayes, Sainsbury's to Southall, Town Hall via route 427. This would provide a capacity boost for route 427 and relieve some congestion on route 195 as the Hayes - Southall corridor seems to be very popular among commuters.
N207 - Short workings (to Hayes By Pass) should be extended 2 stops to Hayes, Sainsbury's to allow commuters to change onto N140 at a much shorter walking distance. Daytime 207 could also potential be extended there however that would create standing issues.
195 - Allocation change to double deckers. This route is prone to severe overcrowding at all times of the delat which can cause the route to become more unreliable at times.

The H10 already gives that link
