Suggestions in response to the Uxbridge bus review - hopefully these cover most aims of the review, while introducing some new links and simplifying the network in the area. Might be some issues, but I think at least some of the changes could be quite useful. 81 - Rerouted between Bath Road and Hounslow via route 111, and revised in Hounslow to terminate around Bell Corner. Possible frequency increase to every 10 minutes. 111 - Withdrawn between Heathrow and Hounslow to improve reliability, using the 81's stand space. 222 - Revised to operate between Uxbridge and Heathrow Terminal 5, via existing route to West Drayton, then the 350. Introduces a new link between Uxbridge and T5. It's previously been suggested to simply swap the 350/U3 at Heathrow, however the U3 is far less direct (with changing between the existing 222/350 likely to be quicker). N111 - New night route between Kingston and Uxbridge, via the current 111/222, via Cranford and a double run to Heathrow Central. Route N9 continues via Hounslow West. 311 - New route between Hounslow Bus Station (222 stand) and Heathrow Central, direct via Hounslow West and Bath Road. Introduces a more direct bus link between Hounslow and Heathrow. Would operate at a high frequency, replacing capacity from the 81/222 along this section. 342 - New route between Uxbridge and Hounslow, via existing U1 or U5 to Brunel University, then Hillingdon Hospital, Colham Green Road, Park View Road, Stockley Road, Stockley Park, Blyth Road/Clayton Road, Hayes & Harlington Station, North Hyde Road, Hayes Road, then the H32 to Hounslow. 350 - Restructured to operate between Heathrow Terminal 5 and West Drayton Station (via Hayes). Via Harmondsworth, Holloway Lane, Shepiston Lane, Station Road, then existing route 350 to West Drayton. A10 - Revised to operate limited stop across the full length of the route. H32 - Withdrawn, partly replaced by new route 342, while links towards Southall are covered by the existing 105/482. Route 482 could potentially have a minor frequency increase, or even extend through Southall Waterside in place of the H32. U1/U4 - Merged to operate between Ruislip Station and Hayes (Prologis Park), via existing route U1 to Uxbridge, then the U4. Using DDs at every 10 minutes, could use either route number. Also diverted in Hayes to operate direct between Hayes & Harlington Station and Bourne Avenue (avoiding Dawley Road). U2 - Extended to West Drayton as per the review, but then continuing to Drayton Village via route U5, terminating either via a loop to Mulberry Crescent, or at the roundabout on Stockley Road. U3 - Rerouted between Laurel Lane and Heathrow via route 222, either via Cherry Lane or Harmondsworth Road. Converted to DDs. U5 - Withdrawn, mostly replaced by routes 342 and U2. U7 - Extended from Hayes to Southall Station, either via the proposed 427, or through the Southall Waterside development when complete. Increased in frequency, and possible DD conversion if also needed. U9 or U10 - Extended from Uxbridge to Uxbridge Moor, via St Johns Road or Cowley Mill Road, to provide a TFL service to this area. Ideally continuing to Iver Heath providing TFL funding. Route chosen would depend on the frequency needed. Some interesting ideas, the 311 is a reincarnation of the old 82 route of years ago and the 81 rerouting is a bit like the 405 rerouting in Croydon. Shortening the 111 makes sense, the only negative I can see is the loss of the Heathrow link from Cranford area, certainly if I were travelling from the Hampton area to Heathrow I'd be looking for a quicker option than the circuitous 111.Tried the 285?

Not done many of these - This is my detailed 241 idea following my post about the 388 possibly being cut due to the savings needed.
Route 241 extended from Stratford City via existing route 388 to Ash Grove, this would create new links from the Custom House area to places such as Victoria Park and Well Street area. This would provide a quicker route towards Hackney from Stratford compared to route 276 which now goes via Bow Church. Not too sure what PVR the route would need?
Is there anywhere at Ash Grove for buses to turn apart from the garage? There is! According to the 55 stand document there is one on Bush Road, I've copied it below to make it easier (and removed some extra information to not clog the thread too much). The document is dated from 2019, so it might still be the same. It is the same one the D6 uses. ASH GROVE, BUSH ROAD Public stand for four buses on south side of Bush Road commencing 6 metres east of lamp standard no. 6 and extending 42 metres east. Buses proceed from Mare Street via The Triangle, Westgate Street, Sheep Lane and Bush Road to stand, departing via Bush Road to Mare Street. Set down in Mare Street, at stop LP and pick up in Mare Street, at stop Q.
BLIND DISPLAY: Ash Grove.

I think beyond Ash Grove to Bethnal Green Station to turn at Bonner Road would be making a huge link. I like this idea

Great idea for the N111/222, I'm not overly familiar with the other routes mentioned so I'll leave those for others to comment on but generally a thumbs up from me. Actually, considering that the 311 is very much like the old 82, why not number it the 82? The 82 just sounds better for the route and is also a bit like the 81, which it is replacing. Also, lower numbers are better for high frequency routes.

If the 111 were to be cut back, could an additional Hampton stop be added to the X26? It would help to retain links lost by cutting the 111 back.

I think the X26 could end up becoming massively long winded through the area and could potentially end up losing the Teddington stop. It could add a lot of mileage, another traffic hotspot through Sunbury and past Kempton Park, plus the routing would have to be massively altered. I don’t really see the point of cutting back the 111, it provides a good alternative link between Hounslow and Kingston.

Still not sure I see the point, it seems rather unnecessary to force passengers to change bus especially when there are limited options in terms of rail unless you’re heading towards Central London and a current through service that operates well as it is.

Route U2 Restructed to run via Harlington Road, Uxbridge Road and Royal Lane, no longer serving Pield Heath Road (western end). Buses extended via Route U5 to Mulberry Parade
Route U7 Buses extended via Coldharbour Lane, Pump Lane, Southall Waterside to terminate at Southall Merrick Road. Frequency increased to every 15 minutes. Converted to Double Deck
Route A10 Converted to limited stop across the whole route, with buses only stopping at Uxbridge Station, The Greenway, St John's Church, Merrimans Corner/Harlington Road, non-stop via West Drayton Road and Stockley Road, stop at Stockley Road and then non-stop as current to Heathrow Central
New Route U6 Running from Heathrow Terminal 5, following current Route N9 to Heathrow Central, Access Tunnel, Route 222 to Cherry Lane and Route A10 (current route) to Uxbridge, serving all stops. Operated by Metroline with Double Deck buses running every 8 to 12 minutes

Places like Wembley and Southall are way too congested, the traffic building up around Southall station and Ealing Road would make the route too unreliable. My route could perhaps be alternated between Stanmore and Apex Corner to serve Edgware or could even terminate at Mill Hill Broadway via my proposed routing to Stanmore, then 340 to Edgware, 186 to Mill Hill Broadway. The only places it would stop at between Stanmore and Mill Hill Broadway would be Edgware and Apex Corner. Alternatively, an X112 could operate between Brent Cross and Heathrow Central with the following stops (via old 112, 65 and H91, then A4): Brent Cross Shopping Centre Neasden Shopping Centre Stonebridge Park Station Hanger Lane station North Ealing station Ealing Broadway station South Ealing station Great West Road Ealing Road Gilette Corner Heathrow Central True on the congestion point. Personally I don't believe Stanmore warrants an express route though. Perhaps look at the London Plan's Activity Centres (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Plan#Activity_centres) for guidance on which areas are more strategically important to hit. Interestingly, the 112 corridor was identified previously as having the potential for increased bus priority and/or an express service - though the Brent Cross redevelopment may have hindered the basis for this idea slightly. Would it need to be extended to Heathrow? There are existing, quick rail links (especially when the Elizabeth Line opens) from Ealing Broadway down to the airport. Since the Tfl Rail currently goes from Ealing to Heathrow terminating it at Ealing Broadway would be good but stand space is limited. Therefore extending it as far as Osterley Tesco would be better as it provides a link to Heathrow at South Ealing

Some adapted proposals to the one that I previously made: X140 diverted between Hayes Town and Heathrow via Shepiston Lane, having one stop on Shepiston Lane, then non-stop to Heathrow Central, to do a double run. Then nonstop to Terminal 5. To give Hayes a link to terminal 5 (see 350 proposal) 140 restored to original routing. 278 cut back to Hayes & Harlington station. Extended to Ruislip Manor (roundabout at Cornwall Road, to free stand space at Ruislip) U3 and U1 merged, and covers U3 section between Uxbridge and West Drayton. This would still serve a bus route from Heathrow to Ickenham and Ruislip, plus freeing stand space at Uxbridge. A10 withdrawn between Hillingdon Heath and Uxbridge. Instead it is rerouted via 607 to Long Lane and 278 to Hillingdon station to provide a bus route through Hillingdon to Heathrow. Note that A10 does not serve Terminal 5 in this proposal. 222 and 350 to swap terminals south of West Drayton - to give Uxbridge a link to Terminal 5, whilst keeping the West Drayton-Hounslow link As a former resident of Ruislip for 10 years and a planner in training, i only argee with U1/U3 merger but have it terminate at T5. X140 should just be extended to Edgware, to resemble the 140/340 corridor I do miss the old 140 but i really like the 278, so would not change it southbound, you could leave it as it is, or extend it to Northwood via, so it is the go to north south link for the Hillingdon borough. Ruislip manor is kind of useless, as you would just walk from ruislip station anyway, and it doesnt even stand in the station it stands on the high street. Dont change 222 at all, but i did like night bus idea of merging 111/222. Hounslow to west drayton school/ rush hour peak highly used Also agree with the U9/U10 proposal, i would also say the U9 should be extended due to frequency and it runs on a sunday, but U10 could easily fit the bill aswell The 278 stands in the High Street because there is no room at Ruislip station, so it has to go somewhere else.

You're not the first person to suggest merging the 241 and 388 and withdrawing Ash Grove to London Bridge. As a former user of the 388 I think that it should be retained and operate at least as far as Liverpool Street. It provides a direct link from the Victoria Park area to the City of London as well as to the tube at Bethnal Green. It also provides extra capacity along Bethnal Green Road which will be sorely needed if the 8 is included in the frequency reductions.
