I've noticed quite recently there are lots of swapping termini of routes with the "shorter route" so let me give an example where this won't work. When there were the Croydon changes in November 2019, lots of routes were removed between Croydon Town Centre & West Croydon. If you were making the changes would you cut the 109 only because it is long but keep the 412 because it is shorter. The 412 also had no where near the level of usage on the 109 (the 109 has 10 times the usage of the 412, I think the figure now is closer to 15 times) Would it still be a reasonable thing to do? I would imagine the 109 would need more stand space than the 412. If the 109 was curtailed West Croydon, you would probably need to kick 2 routes out. Imagine it was a toss up between 109 & 250, and they went with curtailing the 250 According to the tender specs of both routes, the 109 & 250 are both scheduled for no more than two buses on stand at any time (doesn't always work in practice I accept). The only thing to mention is the 109's one I've seen dates from 2012 but the 250's is up to date and was the one done when the route was cut back.

U1 - while I do like this, I feel the U1 could be rerouted somewhere else like Stockley Park U2 - good, no problems with that U3/350 - No because the A10 is the quicker bus from Uxbridge to Heathrow Central, so people will use the A10 rather than the U3, and making the U3 slightly quicker at the expense of slowing the 350 doesn't add much U3/U4 swap - Neither agree nor disagree. Don't see the logic so I think it should stay as it is. I feel that if a change is made with out any benefits or disadvantages then it should stay as it is. U7 - not sure on this one, needs to be put on a map so I can visualise it better. E7/E4 - No because this will remove a direct link from Yeading to Ruislip via West End Road, at the expense of new E4 which doesn't really provide many links east of Greenford. This also makes the link between Ruislip and Ealing Broadway longer which isn't viable since Ealing Broadway is a more attractive destination than Perivale E6/H28 - No because the 195 already provides a direct link between Hayes and Bull's Bridge, and your H28 risks cutting key links for passengers in the Osterley area who need to go to Tesco. E11 - Providing a link to Greenford station from Ealing Broadway is a good idea. 111 - No because it removes links from places like Hampton to Heathrow (albeit they can take the 285 and change) H98 - No because that makes the Harlington-Hounslow link longer H20 - Not necessary, leave it and the H28 as it is.

With the U9, if TFL were ever able to fund a route to Rickmansworth, I think it would be more useful to extend the H11 instead. The road between Batchworth is currently unserved, while there is already a non-TFL link between Rickmansworth and Harefield. This does also serve Northwood, but very indirectly, going via Harefield then the 331. I also think a non-TFL route could also be very useful between Watford and Rickmansworth via Tolpits Lane. This would introduce a bus service to various industrial estates, plus the southern part of Rickmansworth. This would also likely be faster between Watford and Rickmansworth than the existing routes via Croxley (the frequent 320/520 go around a lot of backstreets). An additional Rickmansworth to Harefield link could perhaps be possible by extending Arriva's route 520 from Maple Cross to Harefield Hospital via Copper Mill Lane and Park Lane.

Here's my thoughts (Hounslow only): 111: If you cut back the 111 to Hounslow Bus Station you lose a very popular link between Hounslow and Heathrow Terminal 2. I feel like I've repeated this opinion too many times. Also there's no room at Hounslow Bus Station so where do you insist of standing it? Why does everyone all of a sudden want to cut back the 111 to Hounslow Bus Station H98: What's the reason behind rerouting it via the 111s routing. From my daily observations the 111 doesn't really need any help. E8: No stand space at Hounslow Asda H28: No space at Hounslow Bus Station.

Changes in the Uxbridge/Cowley area U1 withdrawn between Hillingdon Hospital and West Drayton. Rerouted to Stockley Park via U5 to Stockley Road (A408), then on Stockley Road to Stockley Park (non stop section). Also rerouted between Hillingdon Hospital and Uxbridge via existing U5 to give Cowley a quicker link to Stockley Park. The West Drayton link from Cowley would still exist via the 222 U5 would take over existing U1 section between Uxbridge and Hillingdon Hospital to maintain the Stockley Park and West Drayton link. U3 also rerouted via the existing U5 to provide a link from Cowley to Heathrow Central. The only drawback is the loss of a link between Cowley and Hayes Town, but I don't think people would use the U5 anyway, since using the U5 to Hillingdon Hospital and the U4 to Hayes is much quicker. U7 rerouted via existing U3 between Hillingdon Hospital and Uxbridge Road, to maintain the links lost by the U3. Frequency increase to 4bph Mon-Sat to maintain a similar frequency of the U3.

The problem with rerouting the 111 to Southall is that it removes a Heathrow link from places further south. Also I think the 111 isn't the current candidate to extend to Southall. Yes the 120 needs help but a shorter route, perhaps the H20, can be extended to Southall.

Have you ever been on the H20?
The turn at the junction of Whitton Road & Heath Road in Hounslow is tight for a 9.8m bus let alone anything longer.
Also the H20 already runs every 12 minutes?
This thread really needs to merged with the "FANTASY Bus extensions and routes that should be" as obviously most of the people who post suggestions on this thread have never been on the routes concerned as they then might be aware of some of the restrictions or the reasons why the routes operates as they do and with the vehicle types they do.
Hang on a minute, I have just had a thought, all these people must all work in the TfL Bus routes planning department as TfL has not got a clue either, e.g. the recent Richmond area changes where the new 110 is only about 50% the same routing as the old route, so why was the new route not numbered the 391 the bit between Hammersmith & Richmond is unchanged?

The 195 already terminates at the County Court???
