Would it be worth diverting the 490 between Twickenham and Hanworth along Hospital Bridge Road, Powder Mill Lane, Hanworth Road and Hounslow Road? This would restore the lost link between Powder Mill Lane and Twickenham from the 110 changes, directly link Hanworth (areas not served by the 285) with Heathrow (an awful lot faster than the 111 does), and reduce duplication of the 285. Might also be worth diverting the 290 between Apex Corner and Bear Road along Hampton Road West and Hounslow Road (leaving a short section of A316 unserved). Regarding the 490 change, duplication with the 285 isn’t really a problem along that section, the 2 routes have different purposes and have very different onward links in both directions. Also see heavy loads on both routes between Apex Corner and Hatton Cross. The link created between Powder Mill Lane and Feltham is an interesting one but I don’t think that will have tons of demand or should be created at the expense of the 490 serving Apex Corner. Lots of pressure would be heaped on the 290 and you also lose the onward link to Richmond.

Definitely night life. There may also be a bit more once the new hotels open. The Vauxhall Tavern is great but Vauxhall itself is not a night life hotspot (people down here mainly go to Central London, Brixton or Clapham) - I don't know of anyone who specifically looks to go Vauxhall on a night out and I don't think new hotels will change that especially when Vauxhall is frequented by several hotels already.

I can categorically guarantee Vauxhall being a [safe] nightlife area for the LGBTQIA+ community. Friends have dragged me out there in the past, and there's quite a few bars under those arches. Most close late, circa 5-6am at weekends. It's like when people think there's not much nightlife in Clapham because the "in" crowd party at Shoreditch. Vauxhall is similar, living in Soho's shadow but it still being a destination in its own right. Having said all that, there's no great need for an N321 to head there. 3bph on the 36 or N136 should suffice if there's serious capacity issues between Vauxhall and New Cross. Personal experience says night buses along that corridor need to be timed better, not scheduled together like the 36 & N136 often are.

It anything I'd rather the an N321 extended to TSQ and the N21 diverted to Highgate Village using the 214s stand and the N271 withdrawn. An N132 could run 7 nights a week and the N21 pulled to Lewisham or Eltham.

305 Running between Central Middlesex Hospital and Hayes & Harlington Station. Via: Route 440 to Wembley Triangle Harrow Road Wembley High Road Route 83 to Alperton Ealing Road Bridgewater Road Whitton Avenue East Sudbury Town Station Greenford Road Westway Cross Retail Park Greenford Roundabout Greenford Broadway Greenford Road Uxbridge Road Route 427 to Hayes Grapes Coldharbour Lane Route 140 to Hayes & Harlington Station Purpose: To provide a links like example Coldharbour Lane with Southall Broadway, Westway Cross with Alperton and Wembley, Uxbridge Road with Greenford, Southall with Alperton and Wembley, Alperton and Wembley Central with Central Middlesex Hospital. An interesting route, so much traffic hotspots though 😩 What frequency was you thinking? DD's presuming? Every 15 minutes during the daytime and every 20 minutes during the evenings. The route will electric double deckers.

12: Withdrawn between Peckham and Oxford Circus. Extended from Dulwich Library to Bromley South via 197 LOR to Sydenham, Sydenham Road, Southend Lane and A21 to Bromley South.
Advantages: Provides new links from Honor Oak, Dulwich, Forest Hill and Sydenham to Lower Sydenham, Bellingham, Downham and Bromley.
Disadvantages: Leaves Barry Road with a bus that goes no further north/east than Peckham along with the 197.
35: Sunday frequency increased from every 15 minute to every 12-14.
45: Withdrawn between Brixton and Elephant & Castle. Diverted at Streatham Hill to Streatham Station and A214 to Crystal Palace, then 227 LOR to Beckenham Junction.
Advantages: Provides a link from Brixton and Streatham to Upper Norwood, Penge and Beckenham, and is also able to relieve capacity off the 227 from Crystal Palace/Upper Norwood to Beckenham due to being double deck.
Disadvantages: Would parallel around half of the 227, and not really create much other links than east-west from Crystal Palace. Streatham High Road can also be an issue traffic wise.
171: Extended from Elephant and Castle to Piccadilly Circus via 12 LOR. Replaces most of the withdrawn 12, and links Brockley and Catford with Waterloo, Westminster and the West End.
312: Extended from Norwood Junction to Crystal Palace via South Norwood Hill and A212.
Advantages: Creates a round the corner link from South Norwood and Norwood Junction to Crystal Palace and Upper Norwood via Beulah Hill.
Disadvantages: Buses may not fit through the bridge, although being a single decker route I’m not sure whether the height restrictions would affect this plan.

I disagree with both the 35 & 45 changes - the 45 change simply copies what's happening per the consultation in that our important hospital link south of Brixton is removed and they are far more important than any extension southwards. As the 35 change is linked into removing the 45 north of Brixton, I'd have to be against it as I wouldn't increase it's frequency and keep the 45 as is currently - in fact, I'd remove it's frequency increase it got when the 40 diverted to Clerkenwell Green The 312 change is a good one and one that was mentioned in the Croydon bus route paper. I think the electrics will be ok clearing the Norwood Junction low bridge which is 12'3" from memory but even if not, the 312 could in theory follow the 197 and then the 75 & 157 to reach South Norwood Hill

The 12 would have to be single decker because of the low bridge at Lower Sydenham. The 312 extension would be useful although there isn't enough stand space at Crystal Palace but it could possibly be extended further to High Level Drive.

Could it instead be from Camberwell Green to Beckenham, via Atkins Road and the 50 LOR to Streatham, then my propsed route to Beckenham. This keeps the Clapham Park to Brixton and Kings College links as well as giving the Sinclair Estate a bus straight to King’s. If it was viable, it could maybe be rerouted from Camberwell to St Thomas’ via the 185, 3 and 77 LOR’s, but it would probably depend on what hospital people along the route tend to get referred to. I don’t recall a 312 extension to Crystal Palace being mentioned in the consultation, only the Purley one to replace the 455.

It was not in the consultation, you are correct, but was one of the options looked at in the Croydon Area Bus Study that preceeded the consultation. All the North of the Borough schemes were dropped as unfeasible. 😥

TfL have obviously decided two routes are sufficient between Camberwell and Brixton so not much chance of saving the 45. The 345 could be extended to Canada Water if the Clapham Junction to South Kensington section was withdrawn, the 49 could then stay as it is with the 19 rerouted via the 345 route. I think the 171 would only be extended to Whitehall, TfL obviously want to reduce buses on Regent Street. The 40 could be extended to Penge and possibly withdrawn north of Elephant & Castle? I can't see any need to withdraw the 176 though, it could be TCR to Dulwich. The 1 is already in line to be extended to Hampstead Heath replacing the 168. You would also be leaving Barry Road with only the 197. I think the N321 to Vauxhall is a good idea, certainly Friday and Saturday nights. Just because TfL thinks leaving Coldharbour Lane with two routes is ok, doesn’t mean it is. The 45 should absolutely be kept or at least it’s important links should be I see no reason for a N321 to Vauxhall - Vauxhall has no night life and is merely an interchange point during the day plus the N136 can be boarded at Lewisham so any 321 could simply be 24 hour rather than extending further than it needs to be Vauxhall does have night life. As a student i disagree. Fire and lightbox is a prime example. the comedy club etc

Besides, very few, if any at all, is travelling from the southern part of the 321 to specifically go to Vauxhall for a night out and Vauxhall already has sufficient night coverage

It's not my area so others will be more knowledgeable but your taking the 110, a route that already has issues along it's current route, and making it far too lengthy and then making the 111 ridiculously long (and it's already pretty lengthy) given the current 237 only runs a little further than your entire 111 diversion
