Guys, would it make sense if….. Bus route 144 extended to Lee Valley Leisure Complex (to enable a direct bus from Bounces Road to Silver Street Station for more interchanges, more notably the SL1 and maybe the 34) What would happen to the W8 as two bus routes between Bounces Road and the leisure complex would be greatly overbussed

Remember when the Central London Bus Consultation happened in 2022
27 (24hr): Clapham Junction - Chalk Farm 328: Hammersmith - Golders Green C3 - Withdrawn N31 - Withdrawn
I feel like they should went ahead with most of these proposed changes and just kept N31 and rerouted it to either Hammersmith Bus Station, Turnham Green or Chiswick Business Park which was where 27’s old termination used to be but still starting from Camden Town.
Do you guys agree with me here?

Maybe 191 should be split into separate routes whilst W8 remains the same and 144 extends to Ponders End Bus Garage through 191’s way.

The 191s routing allows the back roads of Edmonton to be linked with Enfield, Ponders End, etc. Extending the 144 when it already has traffic problems isn't a good idea. What I would do with your W8 (and its been mentioned here before) is to send it to Walthamstow (probably not now because of the Superloop services making it no space) or even Meridian Water and send the W6 to Lea Valley in its place

Do you guys agree with me here? The 27 and the 328 ideas were not very good ones because of the traffic hotspots already on their existing routes. Selfishly, I would've liked some of the proposed changes to go through; would've made for some weird journeys (Edgware- White City and Stratford- Peckham comes to mind)

I'm very glad the C3 was kept, very useful route despite having to battle the awful congestion at Earls Court but it's short nature helps in that regard.

It can be really busy on the section of the King's Road aswell by the Worlds End. Iv been sat in traffic ages just trying to turn into Lots Road.

Yeah, I've had the same - even further along over the bridge where the borough changes from Kensington & Chelsea to Hammersmith & Fulham, traffic snarls up a lot which is something that hindered the 11

Do you guys agree with me here? 328 extension to Hammersmith is (sadly) an hard pass for me. I use this sometimes if I want/need to get around Olympia and find Kensington/Chelsea is not a nice area to get around traffic wise. There was a very good reason Metroline surrendered this route recently(and retained with less aggressive bid). Not even going into West Hampstead/Kilburn slog areas either.Might have worked 30- 40 years ago though.

I know some people have suggested 328 extends to Clapham Junction which is also a good idea.

No rhyme nor reason when you get past it.

Another option to slightly rationalise the section would be to have both the 328 and C3 terminate at Notting Hill. The C3 when it leaves the stand and heads north before turning onto Earls Court Road gets within touching distance of High Street Ken anyways so a bit longer up to NHG would be manageable. The 328 would then be more manageable as GG to NHG and it would allow the Worlds End stand to be removed.

I know some people have suggested 328 extends to Clapham Junction which is also a good idea. I think it’s not, the C3 works as a shorter (usually) reliable route and the 328 is arguably far too long. I don’t suggest ideas too often these days but possibly : 28 cut to NHG 328 diverted to Kensal Rise New route 448 from Kensington High St - Golders Green The 28 will still link Fulham to Notting Hill, the 328 keeps linking Chelsea/Earl’s Ct to Notting Hill and the new 448 would retain link to Kensington from the north. The broken links like Wandsworth-Maida Hill or Chelsea-Kilburn for example are all long distance and less likely to be heavily used, Notting Hill and Kensington High St seem like bigger objectives from both sides of the 28 and 328.

The 328 would then be more manageable as GG to NHG and it would allow the Worlds End stand to be removed. This could work well assuming enough stand space is available, the 28 would still maintain links between Maida Hill and Kensington High Street. But if a wider restructure is to be looked at in this area, I think route 70 should be considered. It's quite long and indirect, most sections can take DDs which would offer extra capacity, and many other routes already offer similar links. So for example could fully withdraw the 70, with changes to the 7/328/C3 to compensate. Reroute the 328 at Kensington High Street to take over the 70 to South Kensington, making it a bit shorter. Then extend the C3 up via Kensington and Notting Hill Gate to cover the Bayswater section, continuing as far as links are required and where stand space is available. Then extend the 7 to Acton High Street, and increase in frequency again (perhaps even onwards to Ealing Broadway?). The Acton Town section might be fine with just the 440/E3.
