Where will it stand in Palmers Green? Either in the bus garage/where 141 terminates but 251 would probably have to change to Arriva for that. lol, that is a pipe dream, not enough space in the garage to take a standing route. I also do not see the point of the extension for it to just be walking distance from the 34.

The point of 251’s extension is to give access from Arnos Grove to Palmers Green Railway Station and the high street of Palmers Green. If there is no space then potentially, 251 can be merged with W6 (extend 251 to Edmonton Green through W6’s way) then increase the frequency of 121 from Palmers Green to Southgate then withdraw the W6.

The 251 can’t be merged with the W6 - for starters, they both use different lengths of vehicles with the W6 using 9.6m MMC’s for good reasons and the 251 in the process of seeing its 10.8m electric Volvos enter service. On top, I doubt W6 or 251 passengers would be thrilled at the reliability of either route now that it would merged into one lengthy affair. As someone not from the area, why is a link between Arnos Grove & Palmers Green so important?

Could you perhaps swap around part of the 184 and W6, so that the 184 goes via Southgate and the W6 goes via Arnos Grove?

Bad idea I’m afraid, because 184’s link from Bounds Green Station to Arnos Grove Station will be lost and also, 299 goes from Southgate to Bounds Green.

But Arnos Grove has the Piccadilly line at a higher frequency and is also a residential area

At the same time you could maybe extend the 298 to Muswell Hill to replace the 299 (with a frequency increase), and the W9 from Southgate to Cockfosters? And the revised 184 would replace the 299 via Powys Lane.

Genuinely this would be a good development.

Camden Bus’s Proposed Changes: 24 (24hr route): Victoria - Wood Green (replacing 29’s section between Camden Town and Harringay) 27: Hammersmith - Hampstead Heath (replacing 24’s section between Camden Town and Hampstead Heath) 29 - Harringay Superstores - Enfield Town (329’s current route but extended to Harringay Superstores) 134: Trafalgar Square - North Finchley (to support 24’s capacity between Trafalgar Square and Camden Town) 329 - Withdrawn (Replaced/Renumbered as 29) N29: Trafalgar Square - Ponders End Bus Garage Can’t see much value in extending the N29 to Ponders End, especially when the N279 runs alongside it from Trafalgar Square to Manor House and also serves Ponders End. No night bus runs through Southbury Road so it would be helpful if N29 had that minor extension.

Genuinely this would be a good development. The W7 is designed to link Muswell Hill to Finsbury Park Station for commuter purposes due to Muswell Hill’s lack of station. It’s short nature and high frequency makes it perfect for its current role and it would be a pretty expensive extension and involve using a congested road like the A406 that would undermine the main use of the W7. It’s not for me personally

That said I'd have thought Highgate and Muswell Hill would be more in the Whittingdon catchment area but maybe RF offers services the Whittington doesn't. I think the proposal was later altered for the 24 to run along Pond Street and up to GG in replacement for the 268.

But I actually think a day 603 bus/268’s proposed route to Muswell Hill would actually be good for Swiss cottage, Hampstead and Highgate residents
