All of these would be painfully slow in the peaks. Isn’t nearly every bus route slow in the peaks though? No, it depends on the route and corridor it uses

Isn’t nearly every bus route slow in the peaks though? No, it depends on the route and corridor it uses There is a reason why I said nearly every, some routes are very short or run on roads that have little to no traffic. But that is a small percentage overall the majority of bus routes do become a lot slower during peak hours.

So with the prospect of a Superloop 'phase 2' in mind lets get the crayons out....
New route: SL11 - Chessington to Ealing: This would be a new route from Chessington to Ealing: Stopping at: Chessington South Station, Copt Gilders, Hook Parade, Surbiton Station, Kingston University, Eden Street, Kingston Station, Ham Parade, Petersham Fox & Duck, George Street, Richmond Station, Kew Gardens/Lion Gate, Kew Bridge Station, Watermans Centre, Great West Road, South Ealing Station, University of West London & Christ Church Operating at the standard 5bph Monday-Saturday daytimes and 4bph Sunday's and evenings using double deckers.
Accompanying this: Route 71 withdrawn. Route 65 withdrawn between Richmond Station and Ealing, diverted to Manor Circus. Extended from Kingston to Chessington via the 71 route. Reduced to 5bph Monday-Saturday daytimes and 4bph Sunday's and evenings. Route E9 extended from Ealing Broadway to Osterley as planned for the E1. No changes to vehicle type or frequency. Route E1 extended from Ealing Broadway to Richmond, Bus Station. Peak frequency reduced to 6bph, evening frequency increased to 5bph and Sunday frequency reduced to 5bph. Route H37 diverted to Pools-on-the-Park, route 490 switched to Manor Circus and converted to double decker.
New route: SL12 - Heathrow Central to Putney Bridge: This would be a new route from Heathrow to Putney: Stopping at Hatton Cross, Teddington Broad Street, Kingston Wood Street, Kingston Station, Norbiton Church, Kingston Hospital, Kingston University, Roehampton Vale Asda, Roehampton Medfield Street, Putney Heath, Putney Station, Putney Exchange and Putney Pier Operating at the standard 5bph Monday-Saturday daytimes and 4bph Sunday's and evenings using double deckers.
Accopanying this: Route 430 withdrawn Route 85 reduced in frequency to 5bph Monday-Saturday daytimes and 4bph Sunday's and evenings, extended to South Kensington via route 430. Route 170 increased in frequency to 8bph Route SL7 withdrawn between Kingston and Heathrow. Extended to Crystal Palace, stopping at Thornton Heath Talbot Road, Selhurst Park Stadium/Clifton Road, All Saints Church and Westow Street. Additional stop at Purley Way/Waddon Station. Increased to operate at 5bph Monday-Saturday daytimes. Route 443 to instead be numbered route 497. Route 403 extended via 410 route to Wallington and increased to 4bph Sunday's and evenings Route 410 withdrawn between West Croydon and Wallington
Like Superloop itself, this post might be back for a phase2....

Route 792:
Running between Ealing Hospital and Sudbury.
Via:
Route 92 to Greenford Roundabout Greenford Road Ingram Way Oldfield Lane North Greenford Station Berkeley Avenue Greenford Road Route 92 to Sudbury
Purpose: A temporary route to link Greenford Broadway and Ealing Hospital with Oldfield Lane North Berkeley Avenue While the 92 is temporarily diverted via Greenford Road. It seems that TfL are unaware that the northbound 92s have divered via Greenford Road instead of going via Oldfield Lane North because they can't go into Rockware Avenue due to the layout of the temporary traffic lights.

I do think people need to be careful with these suggestions just because one person at TfL briefly mentioned other Superloop routes - take your SL13 idea given it's the one I can absolutely comment on from local knowledge: There is almost no one who will travel between Hounslow & Peckham or anywhere beyond Putney besides enthusiasts because there is no need to. I live on the 37 route and believe me, most from Brixton go as far west as Wandsworth mainly for shopping and certainly no one from Dulwich is going beyond Putney. The 37 & 337 also traverse parts of the A205 and some of these parts (particularly the 337's section) is awful for congestion and that section doesn't have priority in places. On top of that, running via the H37 renders it a single decker route which wouldn't be able to cope over the much busier 37 routing and would probably result in people sticking with the 37 to guarantee actually getting on one even though the 37 itself can do with a frequency increase. So, if this ever got to a consultation, I'd reject it and instead, ask for the money to be spent increasing the 37's frequency and restoring the H37's previous frequency as well

I'm personally not sure on the two SL routes but that aside, some of the above should happen IMO without the introduction of the two SL routes such as the 410 being cut back with necessarily no replacement needed (SL7 plus a 407 retained as it is, frequency wise, should compensate) & the 170 increased in frequency. The H37 can't use double deckers due to the low bridge on St Johns Road and probably couldn't use them if diverted to Pools on the Park - it should IMO return to it's old frequency and remain at Manor Park with the 490 swapping terminus with a different route

I agree that a superloop route down the S-Circular between Barnes common-Richmond isn’t viable. I once took a 33 during off peak times between Barnes & Richmond & it took over an hour on that section alone. The 37 definitely needs a frequency increase, it’s often affected by reliability, partially due to the right turn it has to make at Putney Station.

Route 403 extended via 410 route to Wallington and increased to 4bph Sunday's and evenings Route 410 withdrawn between West Croydon and Wallington Like Superloop itself, this post might be back for a phase2.... I have to say that I don't particularly like your SL11 idea. The actual route itself is quite good but the accompanying changes would be very detrimental. Firstly, the proposals would represent a frequency decrease between Richmond and Kingston, which is very well used, so much so that extending route 71 along part or all of it is suggested every couple of months in this thread. Additionally the SL11 wouldn't cater for journeys to or from intermediate stops so, for many journeys, the frequency would effectively be 5bph. Additionally, the SL11 wouldn't stop at Tiffin Girls School and the 65 is hugely well used by school children to and from there. Your proposals would also have quite a similar impact along the northern section route 65. Again this section is very well used and does merit an all stop service at the current frequency. In fact, as with the southern section, it needs additional support, without reducing the frequency of route 65 as would be provided by the E1 extension to Osterley. Adding a route to this northern section would be very useful, perhaps more so than along the southern section, but not at the expense of route 65. I would also fear that the reliability of routes E1 and E9 north of Ealing would be severely affected by their respective extensions.
Additionally, nit-picking now, but the SL11 should call at Victoria Gate as opposed to Lion Gate this is where there is more demand. Similarly it would be better to stop at The Dysart as opposed to Petersham / Fox and Duck. With route SL12 I can't really see it being very well used. I don't see the need to remove route SL7 from Heathrow especially as it's cross Kingston links are fairly well used. Route 85 already provides a fast link between Kingston and Putney and the SL12 would have a minimal impact on journey times. The new merged route 85 and 430 would also need to serve Dover House Road, as otherwise it would be left unserved. Also I can't really comment much on this but the extended SL7 would probably be too long to be workable. I would imagine that traffic to Crystal Palace from Croydon is very severe and the new SL7 would be longer than the current route which is already extremely long.

Let’s say the Belvedere Bridge/Tunnel gets constructed, and you need to implement bus services to better connect the two sides of the Thames. How would you do it? Change existing routes? Create a new route? I’d like to hear some suggestions.
