Londoner's face a £20 surcharge on their council tax bills for TfL - based on a band D property.
Expect it to be used on unused cycle infrastructure and vanity projects.

It certainly won't be used to bring down the cost of fares for ordinary working people on incomes less then 25k. No doubt it will allow him to bottle it on moving the freedom pass age or carry out any rationalisation if the network.

Sadly I cannot see the documemts, but I'm sure there's a jusificafion for the ULEZ extension, whilst swiping at boroughs like Hillingdon or Sutton dead against it for the reason it's putting pressure on people to change their family car or work van... and there's no guarantee the taxes will stop. Many who bought electric cars to get free Congestion Charge back in the day may now be charged the same as us on Dinosaur Juice, as Sadiq wants to rake in even more money. Even Labour councillors are alarmed by the ULEZ. I assume strikes have taken a chunk out of budgets as well

As always, it would fascinating to see the 94.8% figure drilled-down to operator / route level

Yes I saw that article aswell. It says money is not for every use but for investment such as completing the Piccadily line program. I hope some sense prevails and it accepted now that all hybrids must atleast see another 5 year contract so that contracts starting in 2025 run till 2030, 2026 to 2031 and 2027 (buses on the 25, 202, 209, 270, 425 etc) run till 2032. Therefore a compromise on the 2030/2034 deadlines and spreads the number of new buses needed in the 2030s out more.

I do wonder if TFL will now solely work towards a 2034 target rather than short award with Diesel + Hybrid buses expiring by 2030 at the latest?

That would make more sense on both fronts as it would allow more use of current assets but also its a more even spread of purchasing new electrics in 2029, 30, 31, 32, 33 and 34 as opposed to a large amount coming to an end in 2030.

London's transport to get £250m government investment in 2024London's transport infrastructure will get a £250m boost in 2024 under a funding package from the government.www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67746931The insults and hate towards London is shocking from other parts of the country. The way they are going on is if TfL got £250 trillion

The last throw of the dice to bring the money in, using birds fitted with cameras. It's all getting rather desperate

After Government gave £250m, it seems TfL Board Finance Committee has been convened at short notice for extra meeting Friday 22nd Agenda mentions a new Business Plan, but no supporting papers yet, presumably there are significant changes to existing plan board.tfl.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=171&MId=815&Ver=4
