The 289 will be getting double decked in the new contract so that’s another one off the list. Still plenty more deserving cases.

The single decker routes with the highest passengers per kilometre (worked out by dividing total passengers by total km operated) are: 355 316 D6 195 H37 (low bridge) 214 W4 W6 C11 (low bridge) 236 283 181 (low bridge) 219 170 (low bridge) 289 325 (low bridge) E6 152 227 (low bridge) 276 (low bridge) Most of these routes that can take DDs would be good candidates for decking, and the routes with low bridges probably need frequency increases instead. Updated 355 316 (resident objections) D6 195 H37 (low bridge) 214 (resident objections/trees?) W4 (tight turns?) W6 C11 (low bridge) 236 283 (tight turn and parked cars on Wormholt Estate) 181 (low bridge) 219 170 (low bridge) 289 (new contract specifies double deckers) 325 (low bridge) E6 152 227 (low bridge) 276 (low bridge)

Although the occasion D-decker appears from time to time.

Has the U3 and A10 permanently converted to DDs? Especially the former I've seen only DDs lately

I think the U3 has, but the A10 is just temporary awaiting new BZLs entering service elsewhere. Does the A10 need double deckers? I doubt it. It seems to manage with single deckers even as a low-frequency (20-30 mins) route, if more capacity were needed it would be double-deck or higher frequency. It does have a very early start though - the first bus leaves Uxbridge at 03.30 and arrives Heathrow Central before 04.00. It could almost be a Superloop route given that it runs non-stop between Stockley Park and Heathrow Central.

Has the U3 and A10 permanently converted to DDs? Especially the former I've seen only DDs lately I think the U3 has, but the A10 is just temporary awaiting new BZLs entering service elsewhere. When I rode the U3 on a TE the crowds were easily way too heavy to fit on an SD, crowded top deck and luggage all over the bottom deck.
