www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/thomas-tuchel-bayern-munich-confirmed-julian-nagelsmann-tottenham-b1069843.htmlThomas Tuchel has been appointed as Bayern coach. Unfortunately with Bayern because they are so used to winning the league every year being second even though the league isn't over, is considered a failure. It's like Juventus in the Italian league, it's the sad reality of leagues like in Italy and Germany who have too much money. That's why the English league is better, there's at least some competition. However Many City have too much money so I'm hoping that they get kicked out of the Premier League. I miss the days in the 2000s where there was competition between Arsenal and United. At least teams like Arsenal and United are competing with City, and with teams like Liverpool and Chelsea recently winning the Champions League it's good that City aren't running away with the Premier League. Hopefully Arsenal and United stick with their managers, it's the only way they will be successful. Meanwhile Spurs will have to look at another ex Chelsea manager now that Tuchel has gone to Munich, perhaps Lampard? A mediocre manager can manage a mediocre team run by shite owners. Every Spurs manager has had success prior to joining Spurs but as soon as they join Spurs they aren't as great and it's not their fault, it's Daniel Levy who's bringing down Spurs

The Bayern sacking of Julian Nagelsmann has got to be one of the strangest decision ever. There must have been something gone on behind scenes surely. Thoughts? A bit more here... www.bbc.com/sport/football/65066056Julian Nagelsmann is now being linked with Tottenham.

I just wish Levy would get on with it and appoint his successor and stop dragging his feet

Dortmund play Bayern on Saturday so even more interesting game. It seems Tuchel was in Munich for some time so probably this was inevitable. With City -Liverpool as well, I think having these big games following an international break is unhelpful particularly if players get injured.
I have lost interest in international football with all these qualifiers and more teams able to qualify. The Nations Leagues ever year (or it seems like it!). I am just interested in the tournaments now and after Qatar, this international break is just getting in the way.
Separately, congrats to Kane. Born in Leytonstone? grew up in Chingford, played in Tottenham, probably trains in Enfield, England's top scorer, PL top scorer (maybe). All in line for the Liverpool - Enfield/Cheshunt/Chingford overground line to be renamed the Kane Line. However, expect engineering works in August if that is the case.

I agree with you about international football and I think most people only take an interest in it during the World Cup or Euros and just see the rather monotonous qualifiers as a necessary evil, I'd almost forgotten the England v Ukraine game was today.

Kane was born in Walthamstow which makes it even better, however the line is extremely unlikely to be named that though that would be better than naming it after a royal like the Charles line. The best name is the Lea Valley line imo

Me too - not planning on watching it. I watched it and it was rather boring. I don't like to have to sacrifice a weekend of domestic football to watch England play. I seriously don't get the point of the Nations League either! I'd scrap the nations league and have qualifiers in odd numbered summers with competitions in even numbered summers. That way, international football doesn't interfere with the domestic season, allowing players to rest, as weeks like these could be used as weekends off, or staggered matches (like half of last week's matches would be played last week and half this weekend). Or potentially schedule stuff like the FA Cup into this weekend so it doesn't result in teams having games in hand, which would weaken their squads towards the end of the season. I'd also get rid of international and pre season friendlies, they are pointless to me. Wonder where Ukraine play their home matches, presumably in Poland?

Always disappointing to lose a weekend of domestic top flight football for this. Just a routine win, nothing exciting and barring a catastrophe England have pretty much qualified already. Pre season friendlies are just training sessions really to get players match fit.

Perhaps Kane got to play some proper football rather than the turgid dross Conte has served up for the past 16 months (though I sense that may not be a problem after this Tuesday ) It's not the qualifiers that bug me, rather the performance in the real games where they unravel like a Tesco sweater

Conte AR (u) > EC. Withdrawn from service at Tottenham after reliability issues, scrapped at Edmonton (Teams call from Levy). Stellini and Mason reinstated from warm store until new stock arrives from Germany in the Summer

Unfortunately Conte has been sacked for speaking the truth in addition to poor performances. Conte whilst his tactics weren't great, I say it's more of a problem with Daniel Levy. Spurs are a failure of a club because they keep switching managers. Arsenal finished below Tottenham last season yet Arteta wasn't sacked, despite not achieving Champions League football, yet this season they'll most likely win the league whilst Tottenham will end the season trophyless and possibly without Champions League football this year. Arsenal and United have massively improved from last year with United winning a possible 3 trophies this year. Haaland is phenomenal at City. Spurs are becoming a joke club and everyone will be laughing at them, especially Arsenal fans, when they bottle almost every game this season.
