Temporary Traffic Lights I find are everywhere now. What I find funny is though is the complaints have been coming in about drivers going through Red Lights. The funny thing about it though is the amount of times in the past few months I have come across lights not working in all directions and I am find this very common. You get queues of cars sitting there forever and the bus drivers will all know they are not working after driving through numerous times! I came across 4-way temporary traffic lights. One of the phases, on the quieter of the roads, was sequenced in twice before others went. Very hard to notice unless you're on a top deck of a bus wondering why it is taking so long. It also seems that the minor roads suddenly get the same length of time in temporary traffic lights. While I am here, Hoe Street in Walthamstow was closed this weekend sending traffic around Lea Bridge Road, Markhouse Road and Selbourne Road. However, the normal traffic light phasing at the bus station and the Selbourne Road/Hoe Street junction remained the same as if everything was normal. So you get the situation where the lights are green for a road that is closed and the least prioritised light, which is eastbound bus station lights, has the most traffic. TfL need to be able to incorporate a way of rephasing normal lights when there are major diversions.

Temporary Traffic Lights I find are everywhere now. Lost count how many I encountered yesterday - off the top of my head on the 65 running day: lights near Kew Bridge due to cycle works lights in Richmond as well as a diversion lights in Surbiton (exactly the same spot they were in last year when I went through) Then making my home from Kingston: lights on Kingston Road near the hospital think there might of been a set in between the A3 & Wimbledon lights near AL Earlier today I was on an end2end on the 57, there were no fewer than four temporary sets of lights (all between Kingston & AL); remaining objective, none were particularly gruesome but nevertheless a pain (and for context I was in Glasgow last week and plentiful temporary lights there as well). 1) Park Road 2) Cottenham Park Road 3) Durham Road (besides Waitrose Raynes Park) 4) Abbey Road (just before AL)

In relation to all the comments it is actually shocking the amount of temporary ATS around. A new one has appeared again on Westwood Hill causing queues in Crystal Palace.

The other day I passed temporary traffic lights for workers on the path. They weren’t even digging in the roadway but they had still bothered to set up temp lights for traffic. An utter waste of time when they hadn’t bothered to set up a temp road path for pedestrians. It was merely to impede road traffic.

Yep, because they prefer to work super early and finish by midday. I’ve always said that councils should be able to impose heavy fines on works that take longer than quoted. The last time works were done on my street to install a bus stand toilet, workers were out by 7am and disappeared by 11am. What could have been done in a couple of days took almost 2 weeks.

I was cycling on the Uxbridge Road in Hayes when a van driver told me to get out of the bus lane. I told him to do the same. Ironically he was in the wrong since it was within the 4-7pm time frame where only buses, cyclists, motorbikes and taxis are allowed on the bus lane. Wish he'd learn to read signs before telling me off for something that he shouldn't have done. If a bus driver told me the same then fair enough but van drivers have no authority to be in bus lanes at certain times.
Then there's the issue of mobile phones and I l have seen cyclists using their mobiles whilst riding. It's idiotic behavior because then they're distracted. Unless you're stationary you shouldn't be using a mobile phone whether driving or riding.

Seriously red lights don’t mean a thing anymore. I honestly shake my head when I see 1,2,3 or more cars go through a red! It’s especially dangerous at big junctions.
I am always wary crossing roads now and make sure all cars have come to a stop.

I am always wary crossing roads now and make sure all cars have come to a stop. I know this is a bit of an old post but I totally agree. The standard of driving in London is frequently atrocious! I was using the Kilburn High Road today, a man in his car sped at possibly 40-50mph up there, through a red light, beeping his horn as he went, and as pedestrians were about to cross the road. Luckily no one was hurt but this is despicable and he had no consideration for pedestrians.

Not strictly driving standards but car insurance is an absolute joke this year!
My insurance runs out in October, my renewal price last year was £630 and this year they want £1300.00. Even on comparison sites I am struggling to find a decent price and I tend to avoid the rather obscure companies that come up first.

Apparently insurance companies have seen "an usually high increase in claims" hence the widespread price increases.

It's absolutely crazy thinking about it and my car falls into the category that was registered after 1st April 2017 so I'm sweating whenever they increase the car tax. I had to pay 165 pounds earlier this year. I'm dreading to think if it's going to increase again. It could be worse I could have been someone who got a car that was over 40k market price and pay the extra 300 pounds charge on top on tax.

It has very low emissions so also qualifies for lower parking permits prices.

They also said people have been claiming a lot since after the pandemic and the cost of living crisis. Also down to people inflating and faking things further to gain money out of them. What also has not helped either is car repair costs from garages and parts inflation costs also pushing insurance up further.
