The standard of driving in east London seems to be getting worse! I use the A12, A13 and A406 a lot of some of the things I see are crazy! The biggest issue seems to be undertaken which can be extremely dangerous when you are moving over to the left. People drive like they are playing a video game or in a Fast and Furious film.
I have also seen some really bad lane straddling too. I don't know whats has happened is it the standard of teaching? people just don't care any more?
The worst parts seem to be around the Canning Town flyover where the speed drops from 50 to 30. When going towards the Blackwall Tunnel from the A13 I literally have to move either in the middle lane or the left lane as I know those on the far right lane will still go above 50 despite the cameras up on the top and then the shock horror of their faces when the get that NIP in the post 😂😂 still assuring themselves they didn't speed but deep down they know they did and were just hoping they'd get away with it. Those cameras at the top are either dummies or set at 50, I don't think anyone actually does 30 there.

The first set may actually be dummies but the second set are definitely live. Some people I know got done on them but they ended up going on a course.

I assume the below is what you are referring too?
The one on the eastbound side is the start of the average speed section. I assume Eastlondoner62 is talking about the second camera on the westbound that you need to get down to 30mph from 50mph.

And even touching on that topic before they boarded off that part of the A13 police would sit by their cars with their speed guns catching people

Yes that's the one.

Bringing this thread back but seriously the driving skills nowadays I really don't know what to say. Especially in the motorway. Why some people still persist on doing a 60 when said speed has not been displayed on the boards. The worst offenders are those that straddle between two lanes and those that use the far right lane by go so fcxking slow This post does not surprise me. I see these sort of things every day. The problem is people do not use their mirrors… otherwise they would not lane straddle. A lot of drivers have a license but have not sort of road awareness whatsoever. Only large vehicles should lane straddle in situations where the vehicle could cause danger to other vehicles which is defensive driving. I tend to do this in locations where I know car drivers are foolish and try to beat me when a double lane becomes a single lane and I am driving at the speed limit or slightly below it. I see cars on a daily driving on the solid lines of a bus lane when there is masses of space on the offside. Quite honestly I think fines should be introduced for not using a box correctly. Some idiots when attempting to turn right position their vehicles so poorly when there is a box there designed for that. Not using their mirrors. You also get idiots who drive 10 mph in 20 & 30 zones holding everyone up then have the cheek to middle finger you as you overtake. Some idiot was doing this on College Road which is a 20 Zone and she was doing 10 mph and was overtaken by 5 vehicles at Gipsy Hill Roundabout including myself.

Also don't people get penalised by having their wheels on solid white lines. I've seen a few people try and overtake in the Blackwall tunnel. Rotherhithe tunnel all I see on either the footpath or on the side of the road is parts of a car laying around. Mostly wing mirrors. That's one tunnel I urge people NOT to overtake in under ANY circumstances because of how tight and narrow it is.

I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve been on a bus and seen with my own eyes other vehicles straddling the bus lane line despite plenty of space in their own lane, not surprised it annoys drivers. Too many idiots in Brixton think it’s Need for Speed and regardless of whether the road is narrow or wide, will treat it like a racetrack though I will say that anyone pedestrian crossing at the Town Hall junction but not at the crossings is asking for it after one was decapitated by a lorry & bus a few months back - it’s almost 7 lanes after all One other thing that is annoying is those who do short cut junctions by doing U-turns to get around various restrictions. This happens a lot at the Town Hall junction where people will U turn to avoid going around the one way system

Temporary Traffic Lights I find are everywhere now.
What I find funny is though is the complaints have been coming in about drivers going through Red Lights. The funny thing about it though is the amount of times in the past few months I have come across lights not working in all directions and I am find this very common. You get queues of cars sitting there forever and the bus drivers will all know they are not working after driving through numerous times!

Temporary Traffic Lights I find are everywhere now. Lost count how many I encountered yesterday - off the top of my head on the 65 running day: lights near Kew Bridge due to cycle works lights in Richmond as well as a diversion lights in Surbiton (exactly the same spot they were in last year when I went through) Then making my home from Kingston: lights on Kingston Road near the hospital think there might of been a set in between the A3 & Wimbledon lights near AL

I can’t count the number of temp traffic lights I’ve seen around Bexley. I think there’s been 2-3 temp lights on Erith Road outside BX in the last year or so. There’s also some temp lights along Vesta Road, Brockley (along the 484 route) that have been in place for probably a year now. It’s ridiculous.

I was walking in Putney Heath today when I came across this driver that was driving really slow on a 20mph road (I'd say about 5-10mph) and there was a woman behind him who was beeping her horn. The male driver was very rude and got into an argument with a bus driver who was standing at the Putney Heath terminus and even showed his middle finger at the bus driver. Honestly some people have attitude and a lack of manners on the road and no consideration for the people around them!

Seems weird a random driver would turn up, flip them off and leave.
