Yeah nearly every petrol station I past has at least 20 cars queueing no matter what time of day, and has either run out of unleaded or both that and diesel

Problem is fear sells and it's been like this for years.
Journalists have been f**kwits for years to put it bluntly, Piers Morgan, John Sweeney etc. I also don't think shows like Loose Women (that show angers me!) also help that much.
You're spot on about BLM, I honestly can't stand them. Black lives matter and it's always been something I've thought, as an individual I've always tried to be inclusive and respect absolutely everyone no matter about their race. However I myself understand there is a problem with racism amongst other people and that it is adamant that we try and tackle these issues but not by damaging public property, some of which could perhaps belong to people who are not racist and who are in fact generally nice people. I think XR, Insulate Britain & BLM protests need tougher policing because it's absolutely ridiculous London being clogged up but also that it shows them that they can have a tantrum and suddenly they get given protest space and get their own way.
Yes the BLM protests were unacceptable. I don't exactly like Trump but him sending riot police to deal with BLM in worst hit areas was a good call. What I saw in America was just shocking and horrific. Some people honestly behaved like animals, people have been injured, cars burnt and most important mass theft and destruction of shops. Black people forcing white people to kneel is unacceptable. Hate Extinction Rebellion as well. Statue defacement is also unacceptable especially of people like Winston Churchill, they a hero's, yes they may have been racist but who wasn't in these times, I find it annoying when people judge people of first half of the 20th Century to to today's standards. Insulate Britain, Extinction Rebellion should be an immediate arrest and criminal prosecution, as they are getting ridiculous, have had warnings, are useless and cause mass disruption. Extinction Rebellion are hypocrites and don't even know what to do themselves! But I do try to be as much as possible to treat everyone equally by race. Although I do not agree with some of BLM tactics a few of there causes I can understand. It is also gone far away from its original purpose now and seems a bit of a joke. Trouble is, that BLM did not even cause any problems as bad as storm the whitehouse and they got the full force of the law. Whilst a certain section of Q'non was allowed to cause rampage at the highest level and literally went untouched. I do not see where BLM have had black people forcing white people to kneel. I do not feel anyone should be kneeling, I cannot see that solving anything. I cannot stand extinction rebellion as they have pathetic greeta thunderburg tactics which are more to do with self promotion than anything else. Trouble is XR or whatever they want to call themselves are spurred on by left wing groups like Momentum etc and then they would cry foul play and so will the do gooders. So whether we like it or not we are stuck with these kind of protests. I would say 95% of the protests in London is a joke and it is seriously imo damaging the credibility or valid protests.

Down to more sheep in this region. There are a lot of petrol stations I know with petrol within the M25 border and queues less than 5 minutes. Trouble is there is still idiots causing this filling up every few days and they are not even low or empty.

Hilarious It's like when you hope you see a bus to get home approaching in the distance, but as it gets closer, it turns out to be a Royal Mail truck (I seem to have lost my glasses) Last fuel crisis in 2001, the kind people at First let me buy £30 worth at Greenford Depot. I might try to syphon some fuel out of one of the dead 318 buses at Tottenham later if things get desperate www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10050749/Soldiers-start-delivering-petrol-UK-forecourts-Monday.htmlWe might be queuing for food next There are blood thirsty dogs waiting to tear your trousers to pieces if you go to trouble the 318 buses for fuel. One thing that I have realised, the transport industry have been pee poor to promote bus or even train travel as an alternative during this shortage. This is a SERIOUS own goal. They were quick to talk about the recovery from the pandemic for people to use public transport, but this was imo the ultimate time to have ushered people towards the bus.

Until not so long ago we WERE queuing for food, although that was about restricting numbers in enclosed spaces rather than any shortages. I wonder if there is any contingency plan for issuing ration books for certain items, and if so whether it would ever need to be deployed. People really need to stop listening to media scaremongering, for example LBC are predicting flooding, travel disruption and power outages this weekend on their Facebook page. Likewise the 'flag down a bus' advice from the Met has been twisted at every turn. Problem is down to apple and andriod with their clickbate pages at the side of the home screen, these are tailored to cause these problems and this is purely engineered by gaining clicks for advertisers.

The impact on local bus services here in Kent seems to be increasing. Huge delays, and some routes on large diversions just to avoid petrol station queues. This is on top of the severe driver shortages. When I was on the 34 yesterday I saw the 125 getting diverted around the Oakleigh Park area. A lot of routes had various diversions put in place to get buses away from non moving queues.

79.9p a litre good old days, we can only dream 😂 , In around 2014-15 didn't petrol/diesel prices rise to around £1.50 a litre ? I,ve read somewhere prices are going to rise again and seen some local garages have bumped up there prices 1.47 at a Shell in Newham . Funny you mention 79.9p a litre as I will always remember that was what petrol cost when I passed my test in 2003! I remember when I started driving it was around 62.9p a litre, the cheaper ones were at 56.9p. I miss those days!

No adverts from Khan, to encourage people to get back on buses, but adverts for motorists to watch their speed. Then again Khan has his Range Rovers to enjoy. I think they want to further kill off bus travel as they further reduce the subsidy for TfL. Even Oxford Street is a shadow of its former self now people buy online or go to out of town shopping areas where you can actually park the car. Yet to see more deliveries, but they are rationing drivers to £35 max at the pumps. Still some demand for buses in outer London.

I filled up on Friday gone, first time in over a month, tank was empty with low fuel light on. Waited less than 5 minutes to get to the pump, think there was a queue of around 10 cars. No restriction on price at pumps either. Although on the London border many places have not been hit crazy by panic buying.

No restriction on price at pumps either. Although on the London border many places have not been hit crazy by panic buying. I have not done so bad, went out to Epping last Thursday after finishing a job in Collier Row / Chase Cross... thought I would venture out of London as it was chaos with the queues. Saw where the 375 bus finishes in Passingford Bridge, literally in the middle of nowhere. Seems to be two deckers on the route now. Filled up at Epping Green, queued for about 15 mins. Back home passing Tesco Lea Valley, the queues were out of control, felt for any driver on the 341 and 192 as it was just bedlam on Glover Drive. Seems to have died down now, not many queues in the daytime by the garages on Mollison Avenue (A1055). Even the filling station at Northumberland Park was fairly civilised. Nice to see Boris throw businesses under the bus and blame them for the fuel crisis, the prospect of not much food at Xmas (apparently French farmers plot blockade of Channel Tunnel (though this will mess up EU partner Ireland as food passes through UK ) News channels are not giving this story as much fuel as before (pun intended ) things should settle down...
