With the ULEz being proposed to being extended to all of London would diesels have to be withdrawn or are will they allowed in it? If you're refering to smaller vehicles like cars and vans most¹ need to be 65 plate or newer to comply as that's when manufacturers introduced euro6 spec diesel engines ¹ - some vehicles started a bit earlier on the 15 plate

Out of curiosity which are the areas (apart from Ockendon) which are not in the proposed expanded ULEZ?

Just got a Corolla hybrid for work replacing my Combo van which was straight diesel with AdBlue. TBH these councils will still rip you off for parking and charge an eco surcharge no matter what you drive. "Consultation" in TfL speak means it's going ahead anyway, they're broke and need the money 💰 🤑 💸

I remember having parked on Leman street for 4 hours (that’s the max you can park in 1 stretch) last year - expensive, but was close to £10. Did the same last week - paid effing £21!!!

At one point plug-in hybrids were exempt from the central London congestion charge but is now no longer the case.

Yes, of course could change the rules as some time in future and exclude euro4 & euro5 petrols. Similarly could introduce an electric or zero emissions only rule, but that is probably 15+ years away
