I liken it as the runt of the litter in terms of Brixton Hill routes, a sort of forgotten child if you wish. It was the only route along there with a Sunday and evening single decker allocation before the new contract in 2001 Was it actually contracted for SDs on Sundays or just a necessity due to needing the Metros for Routemaster routes? I don’t know if it was contractually but surely there would have been excess OMO deckers during evenings and Sundays?

Possibly not when the 19, 137 and 159 needed OPO and only the 118 was at BN to provide them. I know the 159 was run out of TH on Sundays but not sure 137 had support from N then.

The 118 Sunday allocation was single deckers (normally Darts) in the early 90s, it was a common trend back then, the 54 and 161 are others that springs to mind.

During most of the 90's, the 137 didn't run on evenings or Sundays as the 137A from N took on that role instead until 1998, when the 137 had it's evening and Sunday service re-introduced with M's from BN and the 137A rationalised into it's current routing. The 118's evening & Sunday service was SR, DR & DRL operated at various times from N throughout the 90's until 1996 when it moved to BN with DRL's and the evening service was converted back to M's - the following year saw it use M's on Sundays until 2000 when the Sunday service went back to single deckers for a year, this time DDL's from the 319

SL9 needs a frequency increase. I wouldn't be surprised if it was every 10 mins in the future.

SL9 needs a frequency increase. I wouldn't be surprised if it was every 10 mins in the future. It regularly features in the list of routes with the highest average loading during the busiest one hour period of the morning peak, primarily for journeys from Yeading towards Harrow.

SL9 needs a frequency increase. As a regular user, I totally agree. Buses always end up almost fully loaded at either end during the majority of the day from stop 1.

Surprised no one has mentioned this because the 75 stands out like a sore-thumb having only a 13-14 minute frequency. 12 should be bare minimum but I wouldn't be surprised if it could justify every 10 as well.

It could personally - I used to use it years ago for college and it was absolutely rammed during peaks

the 45 does after they cut it back to elephant and castle same with the 171 and the 172 The best suggestion I've seen on here for replacing the 45 was rerouting the 35 to Clapham Park and rerouting the 436 from Camberwell to Clapham Junction. What's wrong with the 171 and 172?

Although I like the 436 providing links from Clapham & Brixton to Lewisham, it has a lower frequency than the 35 & the Clapham/Brixton corridor is notorious for capacity problems. I would definitely increase the 37’s frequency though tbh it needs it regardless.

There was talk of extending the 417 from Common to Clapham Junction but nothing came of it apart from including Clapham Common on the via points of the 417.
