I do think the C10 should now drop the C and become plain 10… 😶 Why? I don't really see the point of removing letter prefixes

Yes ofcourse I'm forgetting the C2 went North to South on Regent Street. Tbh it wasn't a terrible decision to pull back to Oxo for the 8 as the 38/73 still linked TCR to Victoria. It was the pull back to the other side of TCR that really took potential away from the 8. Man I remember when 8 use to run to Victoria it was the good times and when 15 went to Paddington it sad that buses are been destroyed The 15 nowadays is rather sad to see...it's at an awkward state. On one hand, it remains hugely popular with tourists and can get really packed in its central section esp. at weekends, mainly attributing to its unique linkage with the Tower of London. On the other hand, it's losing popularity among locals given the useful links to Oxford Circus, Paddington etc. are lost while it doesn't go too far into the east either. With the recent heavy cut to frequency, it's become insufficient for the Central London with buses constantly get jam packed during the day leaving passengers behind to wait for 10+ minutes for the next bus which they're not sure if they can squeeze onto. But it's also unlikely any additional frequency will be reinstated given its low popularity amongst locals. The 11 was at rather similar state of the 15 before. Since its reroute to Waterloo it feels to me that it's heavily dropping patronage and buses always look empty. I hope when the 211 is rerouted it can gain back some popularity.

One solution though probably more expensive that TFL would want would be to extend the 9 to Tower Gateway to support the Tower Section. Alternatively create an 8 mins service but merge it with the 115 to save a bit.

I always thought the 15 should have been extended to Victoria instead of the 26, which might have helped add some more purpose to the route - then allowing the 26 to maintain Waterloo links (which aren't fully covered by the 76). Alternatively at the east end, you could maybe send the 15 to Canary Wharf & The Isle of Dogs rather than just terminating at Blackwall. Then maybe a short 115 extension to Liverpool Street or Old Street, and withdraw the 135?

I'd imagine the only reason for sending the 26 instead of the 15 was to maintain the longtime Liverpool Street to Victoria link.

The trouble with that idea is there would be more broken links extending the 15 instead of the 26. I think the 15 could return to Oxford Circus, but it would have to be at the expense of one of the 12 or 159, which would then have to fall back to Trafalgar Square.

Horrendous traffic around Trafalgar Square is killing a lot of routes which serve it. The 15 loads well eastbound from the first stop. Westbound I see buses with hardly anyone on them stuck in traffic, presumably because punters bail further up rather than lose precious time and sanity crawling along. The 87 and 91 don't load that well and the 23 doesn't seem to be having much more luck than the 6 did. It's a real shame because more links across Central London would be useful but impractical due to traffic which creates this situation where it feels like routes such as 15 and 91 feel like they have more to give.

The 11 these days seems more for hops around Chelsea, Fulham and Westminster than anything else because TFL severed the West End link for those west of Victoria.

The 87 picks up heavily in Battersea and Vauxhall towards Aldwych so the eastbound/westbound argument applies there too, I once got one from Aldwych and was the only passenger until Vauxhall. The 23 seems to be pulling a 172/388 getting a big diversion which amounts to nothing!

The only broken link would be Liverpool Street, but is only a short walk from Aldgate. Plus the 26 would maintain Liverpool Street to Aldwych. No different from the revised 26 having now removed the Waterloo to Liverpool Street link, requiring passengers to walk to Moorgate for the 76. For a West End link, I think someone else suggested extending the 9 or 23 to Tower Gateway, which could even just replace the Central section of the 15. You could then maybe have an enhanced 115 at a higher frequency, extending slightly from Aldgate to provide an overlap, maybe as far as Monument then crossing to terminate at London Bridge Station? The 15 works well as a tourist route, covering places like St Pauls and the Tower, but I think some further links west of Trafalgar Square could help, whether via Westminster or Piccadilly Circus.

If hard times do ever return and the 211 isn't found to be carrying much to Battersea Power Station then I wouldn't be amazed to see it merged with the 11. We know TFL aren't against at all removing a route from the Kings Road as they have tried twice with the 19.

Does seem wasteful both the 11 and 211 going to Waterloo. But yes I wouldn't be surprised if at some future date the 11 is extended back to Hammersmith and the 211 discarded.

Much the same as my observations, I guess a lot of people from the West End either walk or get another bus to first 15 stop, I really think it should be returned to Oxford Circus even if it's at the expense of another route. I've often thought the 87 and 91 would be a lot more useful if they were merged into one route but it would be about two hours end to end so not really practical. The 23 is just a straight replacement for the 6 so no surprise to see it just as underutilised.
