There doesn't seem to be a thread specifically for this intertwined trio of sub-surface lines - so I thought I would create one! Kicking off with the welcome news that the light box destination indicators at Earl's Court have been renovated and are now back in working order. Although less informative than modern electronic displays, the light boxes are a much-loved feature of the District Line platforms and are appreciated by regular passengers as they are easy to understand. The light boxes date back to 1905, when the District Railway (as it was then) switched from steam to electric traction and introduced a new electronic signalling system. This enabled each train to be identified in advance and its destination displayed on the light box. London Underground took the decision to restore the light boxes and make them compatible with the new signalling currently being installed on the sub-surface lines, this meant they were out of service for sixteen months. New destination plates have been created using the same vitreous enamel as the originals, with the same background blue and Johnson font. Some of the destinations which are no longer used have been replaced by others, and the eastbound light boxes now include a "First eastbound train this platform" for when two services towards Tower Hill are due to be at the platforms at the same time. The restored light boxes have been entered into the 2022 National Railway Heritage Awards, to be announced on 6th December. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/earls-court-tube-stations-historic-destination-signs-have-been-restored-56340/

The westbound ones have Putney Bridge removed as that turn is no longer possible with the S Stock train.

The westbound ones have Putney Bridge removed as that turn is no longer possible with the S Stock train. There are no facilities to reverse at Putney Bridge now, even on the bridge. West Kensington and Gunnersbury have been added to the westbound ones.

The light boxes are actually grade II listed, at one time TFL wanted to take them out completely and provide more modern information means. Now modern information co-exist with the light boxes. I work with the team that supply the information to the light boxes!

I am assuming the trains will run at the same pace but will just be re-timed so the trains can run without any hinderance at stations maybe.

The timetable is being adjusted to reflect the faster running time available from CBTC for Circle District H&C. The MET is having the timing widened, to meet the CBTC performance experienced.

With the stabling sidings at Farringdon, Edgware Road and some at Triangle no longer in use and some lifted. I wonder where trains stable instead?

Lillie Bridge was taking over by passenger Stock, previously engineering trains only, Upminster depot has new roads 17-24 and 61-63 commissioned. Longer term Lillie Bridge sidings will be closing, replaced with Chiswick Park and more sidings at Parsons Green. Farringdon City sidings are also still in the plans.

Dstock7080 you might know this more but with regards to the district line at the western end of the line am I right in saying the CBTC for that section will be postponed until further notice. I know you have the Overground on the Richmond side and the Piccadilly Line from Acton Town. My question is how would they eventually make it work?
