Algeria, Costa Rica, Tunisia - England traditionally struggle against sides like this and yet we got the job done in a thoroughly professional manner. Iran have had some good form and good results coming into this World Cup and yet we dispatched them relatively easily. There are question marks over the defence but with the attacking quality we have I think we are going to score goals. It’s brilliant to see Saka continuing his Arsenal form and Bellingham again showed his quality. Bring on the States I say!

But it would be remiss of me to not mention VAR. How Harry Maguire can be wrestled to the ground and it not even get a review let alone the penalty it deserved and yet a little shirt pull gets the penalty (probably rightfully) is beyond me. Consistency is key and it just wasn’t there today with VAR - I hope it improves over the tournament

Well, in concussion, we won Hopefully Maguire is okay, but have to tighten up defensive errors when playing stronger teams. Hope there's none of this 'sitting on 1-nil lead' stuff later on, which was our undoing against Italy in the Euro's

The rankings are by games played, goals etc. Maybe they have been up against easier opponents. I would not totally write them off.

The rankings are a load of rubbish hence why Belgium was Number 1 for so long until recently (Qatar is laughably ranked 50th in the world). I have no team in Group B so not particularly bothered where Iran finish but based on what I've seen from them and the draw between USA & Wales, it will one of those two joining England in the next round

Massive shock with Saudi Arabia showing there is actually a decent Middle East side at this tournament, beating Argentina 2-1. Well deserved too. Makes it worse for my team who play later especially as we come into this in poor form

To me, it felt a little like Argentina turned up for a training game, expecting to put a hatful past the Saudis and if they managed to stay onside a little more then maybe they would have done! The Saudis were good value for the win though and I suspect that’s easily the biggest moment in Saudi football

Equally, I thought Tunisia played well for their point against the Danes. The two results thus far today were probably not predicted and have really opened up both groups

Well whatever the rights and wrongs of the tournament I think it's been pretty good on the pitch so far, great performance by Saudi Arabia and a great game between France and Australia although the 4-1 scoreline was maybe a bit harsh on the Aussies.

Not such a massive shock for me. I feel they have been over-rated purely because they have Messi and oh its possibly his last world cup. They seem to forget it is a team effort. There are a lot of teams that has star talisman players, but do not always succeed, or even worse cannot play well as a collective.
Argentina massively under-estimated Saudi Arabia. Maybe this would be a wake up call for them to perform much better, it is not going to be an easy world cup because the media says you are likely to win, you have to earn it.
I had vote France to win the cup again.

The most funniest thing I saw was when ITV news interviewed some of the Saudi's about the win, one guy said he was going to celebrate by having sex
