Massive shock with Saudi Arabia showing there is actually a decent Middle East side at this tournament, beating Argentina 2-1. Well deserved too. Makes it worse for my team who play later especially as we come into this in poor form Not such a massive shock for me. I feel they have been over-rated purely because they have Messi and oh its possibly his last world cup. They seem to forget it is a team effort. There are a lot of teams that has star talisman players, but do not always succeed, or even worse cannot play well as a collective. Argentina massively under-estimated Saudi Arabia. Maybe this would be a wake up call for them to perform much better, it is not going to be an easy world cup because the media says you are likely to win, you have to earn it. I had vote France to win the cup again. The most funniest thing I saw was when ITV news interviewed some of the Saudi's about the win, one guy said he was going to celebrate by having sex Would have loved to have seen the embarrassed faces from the reporter as he cuts short his item and hands back to the ITV News studio *cuts to commercial* I wonder if some of these teams are treating this jaunt to Qatar as the Carabao Cup and not important as it's not a real World Cup this time round? Some of these middle Eastern players go down quicker than London Vehicle Finder and up to 14 minute stoppage time each half in unbearable heat is not sustainable. Let's hope Harry Kane's ankle hasn't packed up like EN34's rear blind

Spain looked impressive and if they beat Germany on Sunday and Japan beat Costa Rica the Germans are out. Canada must be wondering how they lost to Belgium, they looked very good but just no end product.

Canada was definitely missing the final product, similar to Senegal but overall they played really well.

If they had more games at this stage, I am sure they would be a force to be reckoned with. Belgium really played poor, they only woke up in the last 10 mins; especially players like De Bruyne and Hazard. As for Germany, they wanted to play politics with FIFA and Qatar and to be honest I am fedup with the UK press and EU constantly attempting to bully other countries to their own agenda's. It really has become a joke that they expect FIFA to bow down to everything they want. Wearing poppies, one love, black lives matter, kick it out etc. I could understand home and continental games, but this is different and I rather see more about football. It would be almost every organisation soon wanting footballers to wear bands, kneel, and other gestures, whatever next. it is getting as annoying as Extinction rebellion etc.

No shots at all, hardly made a tackle, couldn't string a couple of passes together, they played worse than Iran & Qatar! Spain played well and obviously deserved to win but I wouldn't go as far as calling it impressive - a similar performance against a side that actually might try and compete at least like a Germany or Japan, then different story

I thought Iran thoroughly deserved it... It's not looking good for Wales, I didn't expect much out of Bale but it seems it's all over. The manager looked distraught...

I thought Iran thoroughly deserved it... It seems liek Wales had run out of steam, it was shameful, before the match I thought it would be an easy win for them. Iran was attacking a lot, they had been very unlucky with some of their shots, it could have easily been 4-0. Both Bale and Ramsey look out of depth and Ramsey should have been subbed ages ago.

At the moment England does not look like they are going to win this match, USA have been playing well.

England looked very ordinary against a well organised USA side. The USA game was always going to be the toughest game in the group and in hindsight maybe a point will be a good result in the end. I’ve certainly seen nothing from a very poor Welsh side that suggests they can trouble England too much but we need to play much, much better

But the minute someone just slightly stronger shows up they can't manage. If we can't beat the USA, there's frankly no hope when we go up against teams like France and Spain.

Anyway we're in pole position and baring a catastrophe against Wales we're into the knock out stages, tournament football is very rarely plain sailing.

England clearly are only going to run into other teams in the knock out rounds, if they lose there its game over.
