They'll probably entice people from other bus routes but probably not their car. Quite possibly. Stations near to my proposed Bakerloop route. Bromley South, Bromley North, Bellingham, Catford/Catford Bridge, Lewisham DLR/SE, Deptford Bridge (I'd send it that way to mirror the 453) New Cross, New Cross Gate. I don't really see the benefits of the Bakerloop just running between Lewisham and the Elephant? The benefits is to create a link between two places that currently doesn’t exist. The 136 is the only link between the two ends of the route but doesn’t serve Old Kent Road. This absolutely could do more but it’s only happening in the first place because of the delay of the Bakerloo line. Personally, I’d of extended the 415 to Lewisham instead which should be able to handle such an extension and then when the Bakerloo line is in place, review it then. Superloop routes are not just there to make journeys quicker but to plug gaps in the network hence why all proposed Superloop routes thus far have unique journeys that can and do get made

If we assume that TfL would want the specific buses ready for Day 1, then we might be looking at a mid/late 2025 start if they are new electrics. Otherwise, it could be a complete refurb of an existing electric/non-electric fleet of buses off some route if you want an earlier Spring 2025 start.

I think it would make sense for this to start at Waterloo so that you can connect to it directly from other tube & rail lines: not much point in changing to the Bakerloo for two stops.

I think it would make sense for this to start at Waterloo so that you can connect to it directly from other tube & rail lines: not much point in changing to the Bakerloo for two stops. Plus there is space on Mepham Street to stand (for now at least...). It'd be a waste just not going that little bit further to Waterloo. E&C is a major traffic objective in itself but you'd lose out on anybody wanting Waterloo. No one is going to hop onto the Bakerloop if they want Waterloo from along OKR and swap at E&C for another bus, they'd probably just take the 'slow' but direct route there.
(And if I were to be a bit more ambitious, at that point you wonder why not pull it to Aldwych or further and at some point you realise that this should have been done and dusted 20 years ago as the Cross River Tram and we wouldn't still be agonising at the constantly ballooning cost of a relatively short tube extension which will take another 20 years at the very least )
