I remember those days when the 18 was run by First Centrewest with Ms, before the first generation TNs with the centre staircase, and of course who could forget the bendy buses! I miss those TNs and not forgetting the TNAs that was on the 10 when X had the route You mean the VNLs that were on the 10 which had the same body as TNAs but where on a Volvo B7TL chasis not Trident.

I remember the 18 when it was RM-operated and ran to Edgware Station! The route was an early recipient of crew DMs (1979) as they afforded more protection to the conductors. One memory of the 18 was when it was Ms out of X. My dad used to have a shop in Sudbury and the 18 stand was previously outside his shop where the current Rugby Avenue bus stop is. We became friends with one of the drivers who came in regularly (he took a liking to one of the lady staff members). He would also come in with this money tray and give us his coin change so that we didn’t need to go to the bank or post office to obtain the change for our till.

I wonder if in 1979 the 18 was the 'busiest' route as it is today...? - I suspect back then the data wasn't so readily available and I cannot remember seeing any lists of pax by route but may be someone remembers differently?

Will the ex TT VHs currently at BT be sent for scrap once all the electrics for the 125 have arrived? They are no more likely to be scrapped than the ex-route 125 VWHs with Metroline, which Bususer79 asked about earlier this year. glad they're not going for scrap though as they're full of character.

Drove ADE40309 today on the 142 and aside from the annoying lane guidance and distance warning system was a good overall bus.
The quality line interior though honestly is a disgusting colour clash imho .

From LOTs news: The long-running saga of power supplies (or lack of it) continues. At Bexleyheath (for route 132) it looks like end of July, RATP Edgware (for route 125) perhaps about the same time and with RATP Hounslow Heath (for route 235) in August.

Why you think that they would be scrapped 🤷🏿♂️ thought they might be clapped out by now. That's not how it works - you can have 20+ years old buses that are not clapped out if your maintenance is decent or better yet, very good.

By the way who thinks that the former RATP bubble moquette would've suited those VHRs?

Why you think that they would be scrapped 🤷🏿♂️ thought they might be clapped out by now. There are plenty of older buses than this still in service and not clapped out!

Exactly, RATP’s 09 reg SPs were well maintained at FW and as a result none were clapped out as most of AH’s buses. Difference story with AV…
