I know I've previously mentioned on here about the 203s MCLs being boring compared to the 117s MCMs but today completely changed that perception. Bus in question was MCL30307 (BD11LWU) and the gear change from 1st to 2nd is brutal! This was mostly noticeable on the Great South West Road where the driver floored it when leaving the bus stops. It's a shame that the 203 and 108 are the only routes with this type of bus.
All I can say is what a downgrade from Citaro's to B5LHs soon...

Now that the 72 will seemingly be going up for tender, an easy solution in the event that TFL choose a shortened contract due to Hammersmith Bridge would be by using one of those batches. The 265 batch is close to the PVR and is the oldest batch, allowing younger batches to form other bids for full contracts. They could bid for the 419 using the 223 and H17 batches together It’s often forgotten that the 25 oldest DLEs will be 12 years old next year, and all the remaining DEs 12-15 years old. But doesn’t automatically mean oldest will be replaced, as many have been refurbished for second contracts so are likely to complete those contracts. The oldest DLEs are 60 plates so they’re already 12 years old! They’ll be 13 next year 🤯 I remember them brand new as well it’s so scary

The 358 has a newer model Crikey ............... doesn't feel like it - maybe I've just always gotten on the bad condition ones 🤨 Anyway - I love a Citaro me - 108 is ALWAYS one of my fall-back photo routes if uninspired by anything else and always happy to capture one of the GAL training vehicles

The 358 has a newer model It’s still a Citaro and it behaves very similar albeit with a calmer sound

BCE47132 finally entered service yesterday evening (7th)
Just need 47146 to move from 183, X140 to 125 and the large batch of BCE 47030-156 allocations will be complete (even if it did take 18 months)
Extra batch of BCEs for 295 are outstanding

Both are off the road as of now so could be on the move. BCEs on the 71 have become more common again this week so you would have thought that is the likely destination for those released from the 94 when X receives the new intake.

Wow all 9 vehicles currently on the 117 at its Citaros, which also means the entire batch are in service on that route. Is this the first time that’s ever happened? 😂

DLE30061 has remained at WK. I wonder how long for as I had assumed it would have gone to Tolworth with the others.

What's interesting is that BCE47087 went to FW instead of S or X which makes that part-electric 71 allocation more plausible.

It’s looking likely I would say although the 85 could be a contender bearing in mind its contract renews in 2023. Either way, Fulwell the recipients
