DLE30061 has remained at WK. I wonder how long for as I had assumed it would have gone to Tolworth with the others. Being the first of that batch that was at WK may indicate it will stick around for long term. With TV now having 4 DLE routes they can probably drop a vehicle. Of course it may be short lived once the 235 gains it’s BEs in 2026….

I’m not sure if RATP understand that the electrics were for THIS contract and not the next! I don't suppose anyone knows the official reason as to why it has taken so long for the chargers to be prepped? There's been many rumoured reasons floating around but nothing definitative. They are nearly always down to UK Power Networks taking a very long time to get additional power supplies to the site.

Yes, it’s not just laying cables back to a local substation, sometimes also needs upgrades to the sub station, switchgear, transformers, or even upgrade of the supply to the substation. You can’t just fill in a form and expect a few MW of electricity to be available, and of course if an upgrade is needed, power networks will be wanting to provide sufficient capacity for next 10-25 years.

Some light at the end of the tunnel perhaps. A post on RATP Dev London Transit’s LinkedIn page: RATP Dev Transit London began with a pioneering trial of electric buses in 2014, and in 2018 began operating our first two electric routes. Today RATP Dev has 16 electric routes in operation from five converted garages. By early 2023 this will increase to 18 electric routes with an additional garage converted to electric. We are fully committed to minimising the impact our operations have on the communities in which we serve. Our fleet of electric and hybrid buses are making a significant contribution to the reduction of CO₂ emissions in London and we are proud to support the Mayor of London’s ambitious plans for a zero-emissions bus fleet in the capital by 2034.

So in the past London United has run the 140, now RATP there predecessor runs the X140 and next year they’ll run the 340 hmm 🤔 interesting 🤔 Strictly speaking, RATP are successors to London United rather than predecessors but I take your point.

Even route 40 goes nearer RATP garages since being diverted to Clerkenwell Green than when it went to Aldgate. Just saying .....
