Easiest/most complicated bus routes?

The 287 is by far one of the (but not THE easiest!) routes I've ever had to learn. Pretty much a straight line except the bits at either end.

The 86 is a doozy. Pretty much a straight line the whole way with a turn of the wheel only required around Ilford ;D

129 is very easy ;D and I found the 436 and 21 pretty easy too.

Difficult? The C10 springs to mind as a bit harder.

The C10 has quite a few turnings. I like the way it goes south towards Elephant, then back north again, in both directions ;D. There's a bit of a ritual at QB whereby new starters are taken out on a Dart to learn the C10. I learnt it in two round trips. It's a fun little route and the timings are quite tight. Apparently people new to the route struggle, but I was on time on my first ever trip!

I would think the K5 must be one of the most complicated, I think it actually has over 50 different roads on its route, and is full of junctions.
The reverse direction uses different roads in places which makes it even more complicated.

Easiest: 81, 116, 120, 207/427/607, 237, E8, H91

Hardest: 95/105, 111, 203, 281, 297, 423 E1, E5, H22, H28

For me:

Easy: 65, 267, H37, H20 (turns a lot, but is relatively short), R70 and 285

Hard: 111 (northern section in particular), H25, 465, 371 and X26

Hardest: 114, 186, 223, H12

When Mrs RM5 was at AD I had the 125 and 102 learnt after a rounder, they are both pretty straight forward.

192 I would agree with - it took me a few rounders to get it.

It never took me more than a rounder to learn any of the routes at BX and that includes the N21 & 89 and the 469.

I know sw11simon only done Q to Erith and back to New Cross when he route learnt the N89 on my bus

Like I needed to learn the northern end of it lol! However, for me the southern bit is hard, not knowing the areas. BX to Erith would test my memory now... wonder what I did with the notes?? I've avoided it ever since. Only done two night spares since on which I did a N1 from a map (albeit I knew quite a lot of it) and turned the wrong way up a one way street in Woolwich where I had never driven a bus through (got out of it easily being 2 something in the morning) and covered some mechanical mileage on the N11 - fortunately I didn't have to go beyond day 11 territory as I would have been lost beyond Hammersmith!

I could do the P4 in one go, been on it many times to know where to turn off. The 198 is simple from start to finish, even once you enter the Shrublands estate.

When I did the C10 more than a decade ago, it only ran between Victoria station and Elephant & Castle.

I think the 37 is tricky to learn (Peckham to Putney) - I also gave some out of towns routes to try. 20 and 167s were utterly confusing in the Debden housing estate.

Also rail replacement routes are hard if not properly sign posted. I have to study up the night before if I do one of those.

Out of All of them I rank.

The Most Complicated is Route X26
1. There are only 13 bus stops also the Route is 21 Miles long.
2. There are plenty of turns and the section between Teddington - Hatton Cross is quite difficult to remember.

Middle Kinda Easy is Route 75
1. The section between Catford and Sydenham Via Forest Hill can take a bit of time to learn. Then you have the section around Penge East Station, Once you know that the Routes pretty easy.

Easy is Going to have to be Route 436
1. Becuase It runs pretty much in a straight line.

Piece of Cake is Definately Route 129
1. It does not even leave Greenwich!!!!
2. You can easily do half of the Route in Your Car ;D. Driving Down Woolwich Road without even realising ;D
