I'd nominate the 384 for the complicated title. The 385 is a bit fiddly and the 397 is also a bit convoluted
The 389 probably qualifies for one of the easiest - down a hill, round a loop and back again.

Saw someone route learning the 129 the other day sad b**** Maybe they were getting paid a day's wages 7:36 hours to do so Exactly the reason you go out and route learn an easy route This sort of topic is very, very subjective. I've noticed a lot of people nominating the X26 as a complicated route but a quick glance on a map shows me that it's pretty much a straight line with a few (one-way system?) wiggles around Sutton and Kingston. I doubt the regular drivers class it as complicated When I route learned the Bromley routes the only routes I needed to actually learn were the northern end of the 269 (from Sidcup Station), the southern end of the 314 (from Bromley South) and the 354. Of those, I only needed a rounder to learn the parts of the 269 and the 314 I didn't know and needed two rounders to learn the 354. Obviously, I now don't class any of the routes I drive as complicated. In fact, I wouldn't say many of the routes in the Bromley area are complicated. I would say I would only need to learn parts of the 336 and the 367; all the other routes in the area I would be fairly confident of knowing As for routes outside the area I don't really have enough experience to know what's complicated or not!

I gather alot of the drivers moved with the X26 as they liked the route so much. I can understand that; I definitely prefer driving a longer route - feels like you actually go somewhere! And lets be honest, you don't get much longer than the X26!

I think the 370 is fairly easy
the 372 on the other hand is a different matter imo

The 372 is easy route to learn if you think the 370 is A non London one, But the 100 must be a bugger of a route to learn (That's if a driver ever works all the way from Lakeside - Chelmsford, Had driver change at Basildon both ways so don't know if the route works like that?) 2 hours odd worth of driving, Loads of turns (Some that would be massively tight for a 9m bus let alone a 12m one that is the norm

228 has got to be the most ridiculous bus to understand, on the tfl map it looks straight forward however in practice I had no idea where the bus was going (I was using it fot the first time between Shepherd's Bush & Willesden Junction). It also doesn't help that the bus seems to pass through everywhere albeit in the wrong direction to other buses.

Hard routes to route learn: S3 and K5 spring immediately to mind. Have bashed both end to end and was completely lost on the backstreets!
Easy: 212, 313, 357, 385, W13 most routes from Walthamstow

Surely the easiest route is 379. It is 10 minutes long. In a straight line.
Hardest W12, How many Hail and Ride sections do you need?

Talking about those 12M Volvo B7RLE's, they don't half move got one on my 551 home from work today and they hit 30 in no time but then again they have 250 HP:)

I suppose routes like the 2, 25A/B and 200 would be extremely hard to learn.

I used the 100 yesterday from Basildon to Billericay, it goes past my girl's house ;D. I must say I'm unimpressed with how often the drivers kerb the bus. I feel the deepest shame when it happens, which to be honest is almost never now.

And lets be honest, you don't get much longer than the X26! I like long routes too. I used to ride on the longest night routes and think I've found my calling on the N3 . These days, I only want to take the N3 shifts that go to Bromley, as opposed to the Palace shorts. It would be great if we had routes like the N44 and N87, I'd be the first to scoop up any overtime on those!
