Easiest: 3, 36, 64, 109, 133, 155, 250, 264, 333, 415, 436, 453. Hardest: 1/N1, 60, 170, 188, 197, 198, 403, 410, 455, P4, P5, X26 I could do the P4 in one go, been on it many times to know where to turn off. The 198 is simple from start to finish, even once you enter the Shrublands estate. Well that gives you an advantage. I would agree the P4 is one of the hardest as I have driven so many routes that cross over the P4 but I would not be able to get and drive one without a bit of route learning or map studying first. Another one I never really route-learnt but could not just do and is local to many routes I know is the 484 (didn't drive full time at Camberwell until after we had lost it. It was the only route there I had not learnt by the time it went, then again I didn't bother as I knew we were losing it!) And the 343 from Peckham to New Cross... just don't know it. Quite glad I don't need to really!

I reckon the 491 might be quite hard to learn. Also the 108 - been on that many times but wouldn't be able to remember exactly how it goes.
New drivers often get caught out on the 20 and 167 around Debden estate, as it pretty much all looks the same. I've heard of many stories of drivers getting lost around that estate. Other than the Debden estate, the 20 might be quite simple to learn...after Debden its pretty much a straight line to Leyton (apart from the Loughton Station double run). The 167 on the other hand might be more difficult, and seems to be a nightmare for narrow roads and tight turns.

Quite glad I don't need to really! One time when I visited WL for work, the first job that came up was a 100 which I said I wasn't confident with. So I was sent to Elephant and they'd taken a driver off the 343 to do the 100. However, truth be told I knew even less of the 343 . At least I'd read a map for the 100 on the way to Elephant. I drove the route and learnt it at the same time which I didn't mind doing as I know the area. Ended up following another 343 through the Nunhead/Brockley area. It's actually a relatively straight route between Peckham and New Cross Gate...only one right turn in Nunhead then two left turns in Brockley then it's a loop when approaching and leaving New Cross

Easiest route to route learn i found was the 180, cause i never route learned it!! haha.
I Found the N1 pretty easy as well tbh and all the BX routes when i learned them back in the day! The most recent route i learned was the 658.
For straightness though i would have to say the 321, the only real twists and turns on it being at Foots Cray, Eltham and Lewisham.

I think it's all relative really, if you know the area a route goes then it will be easy to learn..I've never learned the 132 or 321 but would be able to get them from end to end...likewise with the 180 and I'd be reasonably confident on the N1....having been a passenger on the 521 I reckon I'd be able to drive that route end to end as well.

The 468 is a pretty straightforward journey for the majority of the route, it runs in a straight line from the northern terminus at Elephant and Castle to South Norwood Hill. Otherwise there are a few minor turns here and there between Thornton Heath and South Croydon. The 43 is also fairly straight between Angel and Friern Barnet, as well as the 149.
The complicated ones I had in mind have already been covered in this thread, but my local route C10 (Victoria - County Hall), 322 (Gipsy Hill - West Norwood), G1 and W5 can be very tricky to remember.

Agree with the W5 (as a local user)- I recall assissting a HCT driver when they first gained it. I'd add the 29 & maybe the 82 as fairly easy routes - and the 393 comes to mind as a complex route.

For someone new the w5 is a hard route for me its easy as ive done it so many times.
The 491 i cannkt agree that the route is hard atall. Hes it has lots of turns but mkst of the route is still very much sgraight and tbe turns are nkt something hard.

Yeah indeed, there are loads of routes in other parts of London that I would find tricky . I reckon even a few routes that you drive yourself might be tricky for me, depending on what they are of course. Other ones I reckon I could do is the majority of the routes that pass through Croydon. Exceptions would be the 455 between Ampere Way & Wallington, the 410 after Purley Way & the 60 after Coulsdon.

Otherwise there are a few minor turns here and there between Thornton Heath and South Croydon. You do have to turn the steering wheel in West Norwood towards South Croydon or you'd end up in Elder Road on the 432 route! But it is very straightforward, as is the 68. I don't think I ever really route learned the 345 - it criss-crosses so many other route I'd done by the time it came to SW . Mind you, that's courtesy me having worked in lots of locations. It would probably be one of the most complicated routes in Q for most new drivers with lots of left and right turns.

Shockingly, living around the E3 bus route, the E3's eastern end after Acton is a bit confusing to me. Never personally been past Chiswick with it, but on google maps it does look confusing
