School Day only journey, The same happens with Blue Triangle and the 150D Well its Go Ahead Docklands doing the 150 whilst Arriva London do the full timetable. Well i do not mind having mixed and match sub contractors doing 1 route like what First london does route 9 with routemasters whilst London United does 9 with normal low floor buses.

The same thing happens with the 405, Metrobus run the standard service while Arriva run the school journeys.

That was for the 370's school journey which required a decker. It was replaced by either L234 or L235 a few years later.

That's a very old pic. It's before it's single door conversion and repaint to provincial livery. I remember the L too, used to try and aim to get that thing to college if ever I could!! Mix them with the 248's occasional use of T's and M's and you had a field day for travel!!

Crikey! I can remember a M on the 370 but not sure if it was that one, Sure it was a plain red one Ah, Those were the days when Romford had variety in the buses, Now it's slowly becoming a Enviro only zone

The Metrobuses were used by GY garage AFTER conversion to single deck operation with the P4xxHVX batch - and before the red RxxxEKO batch came along for LEZ requirements. They were not used specifically for the school workings. I can't remember why now, but there were a few exchanges with Southend - some of their P2xxFPK batch - but it did result in a shortage such that we had 4 or 5 Metrobuses to supplement the Darts. EDIT:Along with BYX208V, as linked to in reply#108 above, we also had (click on the number plate for image): BYX170VBYX175VKYV782XJBO80WGYE493WMaking 6 Metrobuses in total!!

Easily would have that or one of the L's that did the school journeys on the 370 than anything else that has been operated on the route.

The vehicles operating in images 35 and 36 on routes 370 (going to Grays, Bus Station) and 373 (Romford) are from the batch allocated to route 256. They were covering the 370/373's longer and one-door darts. I believe this happened from time to time as in all fleets.
When the 370 went to TfL operation, the vehicles were quickly replaced by 08-reg E200's, that are now for route 256 (ironically!) following the 370 upgrade to double-deck operation. - Gareth.

Just a slight add-on to what you said - a few of the Enviro 200's brought for the 370 are 57 reg with the rest 08 reg

Managed to ride them a few times. Very interesting beasts they were too
