I've always thought the double run of the 269 in Bromley North towards Bexleyheath was silly.

Rerouting the 269 is Stupid IMO. It will badly serve Bromley now. It has already been done and now they are doing it again. A lot of elderly people use the 269, that's not going to help now.
138, 336 & 367 is not so bad.

The others go through the Bromley South/Glades area anyway and so serve Bromley adequately.

As was mentioned on the previous page, the ideal solution for the 269 would be extending it to Bromley South (or Bromley Common?). Failing that, the lights should be re-phased (I think it would only require a delay on the pedestrian lights) allowing the 269 to turn out of the bus stop lane and right into Tweedy Road, left into London Road and around the Market Square. That way the stops at The Greyhound and the Town Hall are still served. Having a direct routing from the North to Widmore Road helps no one

If the 269 turned right and went via the Glades and Bromley South then the area would be more than adequately served, even if the link from Bromley North was lost.

You could even retain the Bromley North link by having the 269 go across the lights and serve the Town Hall, then serve Sainsbury's and Bromley North Station and down Tweedy Road, Kentish Way and the High Street to Bromley South/Common

Just read the consultation document and TfL's response to the concerns raised. While they acknowledged that there will be increased walking distances involved for all routes they basically said they weren't bothered. I did, however, get the feeling that Bromley Council have decided to make the changes to pavements and East Street and nothing TfL said would make the blindest bit of difference. I'm glad I'm not a 269 driver; the punters are not going to be happy about this one

It seems like the results are pretty much decided by Bromley Council already - "we're getting rid of these bus stops and shutting off this road to buses, and you can decide what you're going to do instead" from Bromley Council seems to be the basis of this consultation. The Market Square stops are massively popular and I'm not entirely sure how everyone bundle on the narrow stretch of pavement by the Greyhound stop will be particularly helpful. The 269 does look like it's basically been cut off from any sort of interchange around Bromley town centre. Bromley Council, as usual, seem to be displaying their aversion to public transport here - it looks like public transport was just about the last consideration of this "redevelopment scheme"

Either that or the planned changes by Bromley Council will make it (deliberately?) unsuitable for buses.
