Just my own thought, if the 56 does end up converting then it could send the Hybrids to the SL3. That could be an option actually. Would save introducing another type into TB (as opposed to simply a common pool across the 55/56/215) and the hybrids date from early 2012 so would be coming to the end of a working life by 2025.

Agreed the SL3 contract runs out in 2025 anyways. I will do my best to get some more information.

In answer to the thread title, it's now route SL3 from 24 February. That's good. Bit of variety to see them in the SL livery. Without starting loads of speculation they could come 2025 be re deployed to another route as it's likely the next full contract will be for new electrics.

It seems some of the LTs at Leyton have recently been reminded and include 56 - This is LT387 in the photo. I had LT389 very briefly this morning before I had that bus pinched by another driver. This has 55/N55, 56 and 215 only (I imagine this would be the same as LT387) Apparently 56 has never been on the LT blinds at Leyton so it certainly seems reasonable to say that 56 might be converted LT Attachments:

Have LT been tested on the 56 as they can do the full route Yes they have, believe it was tested all those years ago with the 55. Not to mention it's almost completely paralleled with routes allocated longer buses! I assumed the only problem would be Whipps Cross, but realised the N55 covers that part.

Sorry but is the 56 actually being converted? The 56 is my school route and while the E400Hs are hideous, I would not mind an LT on the 56 haha alongside the 38 and 55

There has been canteen talk and some LTs have been fitted with new blinds that have the 56 on them. Personally would much rather they fully convert routes like the 5 and 17 before doing other routes but that’s just me.

Route 5 yes, but I think route 17 will go all electric as part of its tender for next August. Route 56 could go LTs and enable the E400Hs to replace E400s or Scanias elsewhere, such as BK or PD.

If the few refurb floats currently at RR are staying instead of going elsewhere again, there should already be enough LTs to fully convert the 5.
