Random question but where have the majority of LTs for the 5 come from so far? I know some came from the 15 PVR cut but not sure about that the rest.

Four spare from SW (LT50-53) have moved over to NP to displace four newer ones (LT458/459/478/512) to RR. The bulk of the 5 allocations are from Q as a result of PVR cut of the 12 I think (LT417-427), then the rest moved over from the 15. A couple (LT310/311) also transferred from NX. There are also 8 LTs (LT306-309,875-878) hanging around as refurb floats across various GAL garages and are currently all at RR. If these are staying then that should be sufficient for a full LT allocation of the 5 once the native RR batch finish refurb.

Sorry but is the 56 actually being converted? The 56 is my school route and while the E400Hs are hideous, I would not mind an LT on the 56 haha alongside the 38 and 55 No one knows at the moment! There has been canteen talk and some LTs have been fitted with new blinds that have the 56 on them. Personally would much rather they fully convert routes like the 5 and 17 before doing other routes but that’s just me.

If the 56s are converted to the LTs, I think the E400Hs might go to HK to temporarily go onto the 242s in February because the electric buses won’t arrive in time for 242s CT - HK allocation in February

61 when the SL3 eventually goes EV? The Citaros on the 227 had a few appearances on the route so there shouldn’t be any issues.

With today's rather surprise announcement of potentially 12 year old diesel buses on the 28 for a 3 year term I do wonder if to save money on what will probably be a harsh economic time for TFL still in 2025/26 if the new contracts starting in the on the 3, 8, 24, 27, 267, 390 will have another term with LTs as opposed to being the first conversions back to conventional buses.
That would largely take most the LTs up to between 2027 and 2029 before withdrawal with possibly a few 5 years terms on the 68 and 87 in 2025 taking some to 2030.

You know I wouldn't if a route with existing LTs like the 12 or the 55 or the 390 or some other routes has its LTs replaced by electrics so that it's LTs are put on other routes to help Tfl get rid of the diesels.

5 is converting to full LT operation in the summer this year, freeing up MMC's to go elsewhere.

May i ask how many LTs fleets available. Ex 168 buses went on 9 the 9 LTs went over to south for new Superloop SL3 Stagecoach London. 215 Have Few LTs on the route. If 56 Converting into LTs were are the LTs coming from. 5 Going full LTs available at RR.

The 56 was only a rumor posted here based on something a driver told someone and the fact buses have 56 on the blind. Nothing was confirmed! Route 215 has taken buses from PVR cuts on the 8 and only needed 5 LTs + spares.

There are quite a few LTs spare spread across all of the operators, so I could see a couple more routes being converted. Potentially the 355 and H98 could be candidates for conversion to LTs?
