...and here was I thinking that most people would have admiration for what Ensignbus and others are doing helping to get people around more easily. Whatever your views on the strike (and both sides have salient points), attitudes like this are far more likely to make people side with LU, hardly what the union wants... In France when one group of workers go on strike, the whole lot goes on strike. It doesn't necessarily make it right though. At least with enhanced bus services, and most trains etc. running, people have got more chance of getting to work/school on time. What you are effectively saying is that if by as little transport working as possible, you lose money by being unable to get to work, that's tough. I'm afraid that's not a good way to get sympathy. And the RMT, as I said above, have a number of valid grievances here, as well as LU management.

No - passengers hate rail staff with a vengeance and would love nothing more than for them to lose their jobs and the whole lot automated or for salaries to be cut. As a former London bus driver who drives main line trains into London, even my former colleagues hate me and ridicule the railways ...

The 267 is struggling like Joey Essex in a spelling contest 35 metres in 10 minutes... trying to get to Hammersmith from Brentford... the road's a carpark Its terrible out there...the 235 is very much up the shi*ter as well! groups of 4 buses together, then nothing for 25 minutes and then another group of 3 yet no turns when they are all together!

I know, I was throwing a general point out considering the amount of times LU staff strike compared to the bus staff. Despite myself preferring to still have ticket offices, I don't accept the argument regarding that stations won't be safely staffed as there are no job losses involved - that's how I've read it anyway. You don't accept any arguments where rail staff are concerned anyway. The history of your posts has shown you to be anti rail staff through and through. I'm not going to be a black leg and drive a rail replacement bus on my day off. I've got better things to do with my time. Correction, I'm anti railway staff having strikes every so often - other than that, I've no issue with them.

What ridiculous comments...................why do the public "hate rail staff with a vengeance"? How are bus drivers working on extras "blacklegs"? Your former colleagues hate you? Now that I can believe

Go Aheads RMs are out as extras on the 36, this time with decent blinds compared to last time! (A5 sheets of paper written in biro pen!). My old man did have an RML on the 29 but it broke down and now has an RT starting at 15:00 hrs.

VA46 (R946YOV) was helping out on the H91 as an Extra, bus looked smart with its LED blinds (take note, Leon Daniels ) and I saw LT150 going for a drive around Stamford Brook while I waited for a bus home... not sure how fares were collected on VA46 as it didn't appear to have a regular Wayfarer with touch pad for your Oyster... yh I know it is a Private Hire bus

Sorry, but as a member of 'rail staff' in a customer facing role on board an automatic train (no prizes for guessing who for) I nor any of my colleagues are universally hated by the general public although there is the common misconception that all rail staff do is press a couple of buttons. The problem is the 'all out on strike at the drop of a hat' culture has affected LU, even if the current action is arguably justified. Bringing things back to buses- even though the 'tube strike rallies' may not give the best impression of a modern transport network, many passengers quite like the 'retro buses' out on strike days. Personally speaking, if its older than a J reg Cummins powered Olympian (or Lynx) I'm not that interested

Lots of turns to Busch Corner on the 235, and I even saw a 65 blinded for Brentford County Court (hope it wasn't from Ealing Broadway : tonight will be fun, then another day of this tomorrow. I had to go collect a DLP from Kingsbury (the projector type, not the bus, lol) and noted the suburbs seem quiet, Neasden was a bit of a mess, but I think that's Brent Council for you

Greed is nothing to do with this industrial action it is to do with keeping the Underground safely staffed at all times Lol you've been sucked in by RMT's propaganda. Strikes because those lazy ticket office staff don't want to come out into the cold. How is it more safe for a staff member to be sat on their arse in a ticket office than by the barriers or on a platform WITH CUSTOMERS? As a member of A.S.L.E.F we are not involved in this dispute but the simple matter is ticket office staff are safety critical licensed to deal with one unders station evacuations and other operational incidents having 900 fewer staff on the stations WILL have a detrimental affect on customer safety if stations need to be evacuated because of an incident. i.e. terrorism unsafe building etc and on the smaller stations down to a single member of staff how can they be in 2 places at once.
