I have just added an article about the MMC's in London, also includes quite a few photos. Tried to keep it impartial and factual but as I am a fan, it wasn't easy

Had a ride on brand new Abellio 2523 on the 350. Now im normally a wrightbus fan, but, frankly im staggered! What a bit of kit! Quiet and very very quick. Apart from vibrations its a superb bit of kit. Staggering and quite beautiful. Very nice. I will report back in a few months as to the condition and ride.

Finally Metroline's MMCs are out on the 332, 3 of them, quite by chance caught TEH2082 yesterday, and not so much by chance 2076 today. On first sight I was surprised how different these look from the legacy Enviro, despite having seen a few photos - very smart indeed both front and back, nice internal layout with the more compact stairway. Seems powerful and nippy. However, I thought it produced more noise and vibration when idling. Managed to follow on with a new VWH on the 7, which to my surprise seemed quieter and smoother, not my previous perception comparing Dennis with Volvo. And finally, for good measure, an LT on the 148, really quite impressive, despite having to stand upstairs due to Central Line closure overload (Queensway reversers, another first) - especially as the aircon was working well (though it was only about 18 degrees).

My first MMC experience didn't go too well! I was on a 350 from Terminal 5 and the rear doors would not open when the driver pushed the button, although it did work when he told people to push the emergency open button. Every bus stop he would switch the bus on and off again. When he finally told the controller what was going on, the guy didn't seem too pleased, but arranged for a replacement bus later along the route. The trip took so long that I just bailed .

I was on the 350 between West Drayton and Hayes & Harlington last week and I was very impressed with this bus. I really love how quiet the engine sounds and I like the design. It is definitely better than the NB4L.

It is definitely better than the NB4L. Quiet? You sure you were on a MMC lol. The ones on the 109 & 415 seemed to have bedded in nicely though sadly, the riff raff along the 109 have already started etching at least one MMC.

Saw some MMCs in the metal for the first time today on a trip to Gatwick (Saturday 18th) on the 109 & 415, they look very good indeed better than in pics.

Without doubt prob the most photogenic bus in london. They are nice when new but as ive said all along, the general public are not worried ne dont care what it is as long as it gets them to where they need to get to. Its a shame that the scrotes seem hell bent on wrecking all they can with scant regard to all that has to use them and indeed operate them day in day out. I wonder how they would feel if someone went to their home and etched garbage all over their windows how they would like it. TfL need to take a hard line. These impressive and very expensive bits of kit should be respected.

My first experience on an MMC was a bit of a disappointment, they don't rattle anymore but they creak a lot. It might've just been the one I was on, which was 2516. Other than that they are very nice buses. Sounded the same to me as regular E400s.

Well guys as promised, im back to report on the mmc's at hayes, or more precisely the route 350. Well, apart from a few knocks and scrapes, the buses are still in fine form with some spirited running from all the buses i travelled on. I have a new gripe about them now though, from the outside they sound like they should be on the runway not the roadway, with most but not all, sounding like a fighter plane not a bus! It seems to be an inherant feature not a fault. So if all the mmc versions are of this standard, then success is rightly deserved. Well done ADL keep it up.

Oh an excellent candidate to run past a certain property on the 316 route in North Kensington. Perhaps Metroline could divert one of the 332's batch?

Although I love the new MMC E40Hs I prefer the 'sound effects' of the older body variant on euro6, ie those officially allocated to the 49, 75, 350, etc. Although they appear to have louder "WOOSHING!!" they apparently can be quieter if driven with less of a heavy foot. From what I was told, if you apply the right throttle pressure the bus will accelerate just as swiftly with a lot less revving.

Probably the only reason I like the E40H; that and the whooshing.

Acceleration is hugely impressive almost car like with a strong powerful surge. I've not been on another bus that picks up speed in the same manner.
Build quality could be better. Still too much creaking from the laminate ceiling panels on the lower deck around the stairwell and rear door area. This shows itself when the bus goes round corners or through bumps. This was a characteristic of the old E400 that hasn't been eliminated with the MMC.
