I was really excited by the W15/W17 proposals and I was so disappointed that TFL didn't bother to go through with it. Although I hope they change their mind, I was concerned that the W17 was expected to run from Hackney every 15 minutes (that would be a rammed route). I thought that something could be done: Extend 394 from Homerton to Leytonstone, (use 339 stand). 339 extend to Leytonstone Tesco (new stand needed) or Leytonstone Bus Station. Run W15/W17 as per proposal. Or extend 394 to Whipps Cross. However that's highly unlikely given that the route would suffer with delays across the route. What about the old 55 stand?

Fantasy express route X84 - Bromley North, Plaistow Green to West Croydon, Hogarth Crescent: Running via College Road, Bromley North, Kentish Way, Bromley High Street, Bromley South, Westmoreland Road, Hayes Lane, Wickham Road, Bromley Road, Beckenham High Street, Croydon Road, Elmers End Green, Long Lane, Lower Addiscombe Road, Cherry Orchard Road, East Croydon, Wellesley Road, West Croydon and Hogarth Crescent. First stop: Plaistow Green Bromley North Station* Bromley Civic Centre Bromley High Street/The Mall Bromley South Station (Non-stop to Beckenham) Bromley Road/St George's Church Manor Road Beckenham High Street/Kelsey Square Beckenham High Street/War Memorial Croydon Road/War Memorial (Non-stop to Elmers End) Elmers End Green Elmers End/Tesco (Non-stop to Addiscombe) Parkview Road Addiscombe Tram Stop (Non-stop to East Croydon) East Croydon Station** Whitgift Centre West Croydon Bus Station Last stop: Hogarth Crescent *In the reverse direction, the route will serve the 'Bromley Town Hall' and 'West Street' stops. **In the reverse direction, the route will serve the 'Dingwall Road/East Croydon Station' and 'Cherry Orchard Road/East Croydon Station' stops. This is the sort of service you might get in a deregulated environment, possibly going further than Bromley, but there is no way that TfL would sanction an express bus service that runs in direct competition with Tramlink. That is a good point I hadn’t thought of : in a very fantastical world - perhaps an X27 from Sutton to Sidcup then - stopping at Banstead, Purley, Addington Village, Hayes Station, Bromley South and North, Chislehurst Station and War Memorial and Sidcup Queen Mary’s and Station. Remember, armchair critics, Fantasy 😉😂

What about the old 55 stand? 55 used to stand at T garage, the 56 still uses the stand at Whipps Cross. Surely it had an allocated stand but stood at T for convenience. What if Arriva/TT/GAL/HCT had won it? EDIT: I looked at an old stand spec and it had Leyton Green Road as the official stand, but this was only for 1 bus. So T is used to allow buses to stand for longer. Here is a picture of LT369 on stand on Leyton Green Road. So this stand would not suit the 55 very well, but would be okay for the 394 if extended there.

I don’t think it serving some Tram stops will be a massive issue personally when most journeys are local ones from Croydon anyway - in fact, my re-route would only serve Croydon, Sandilands & Elmers End tram stops

I had thought of an extension to Leyton, Bakers Arms. There is a bus stand or bus stop alighting point called Bromley Road next to Leyton Tesco (formerly used by the 55). Since it's fantasy I would love for that extension to happen. However, Whipps Cross is already a long extension and the W15 and W19 can cope fine between Walthamstow and Whipps Cross so I didn't feel that it was necessary. Buses on routes W15 and W19 can arrive at Whipps Cross fully loaded so it makes sense for the 394 to start here empty as it will have healthy loadings from its starting point.

I am not sure this is a Fantasy idea. The only reason I put it in this thread is because TFL wouldn't bother even looking at it.
Mission: Rescue W12: Frequency restored to every 20 minutes. Option 1 is as follows: From Walthamstow Village, run via Vallentin Road, serve Wood Street Station & Bisterne Avenue (route 230 section), come back up Vallentin Road and back to Shernhall Street.
Option 2: From Walthamstow Village, turn left Shernhall Street, right Forest Road, right Wood Street serve Wood Street Station & Bisterne Avenue (route 230 section), come back up Vallentin Road and back to Shernhall Street.
Option 3: Extend route W12 to Manor Park from Wanstead via route 101. If the Central Line is down, what do you do in South Woodford apart from the 179? This proposal will create links between South Woodford and Manor Park which may attract more usage.
Reasons: Connect the Wood Street community to Whipps Cross Hospital directly. Also, option 2 serves Wood Street Library and Thorpe Coombe Hospital. How can places like Manor Park, Ilford, Homerton, Hackney have connections to the Hospital and not Wood Street? Makes no sense given TFL's hospital access agenda.
I don't mind cutting it back to Walthamstow Central but this route seems unloved. TFL and Waltham Forest Council have done their best to ignore/damage this route having seen the recent study. Huge loss of patronage over the years and I am worried for the route's future.
Personally, I think this route should have options 2 and 3 added to the route.

New express route Ruislip to Feltham via: E7 LOR Ruislip station to Yeading White Hart (stopping at all stops and not via Wood Lane) Then non stop on the A312 Then 90 LOR stopping at all stops to Feltham Leisure West
To link Ruislip with Feltham, to provide a cross West London orbital link
Option 2: Same as above but a bit more express, with an option to extend to Hanworth: Ruislip station Ruislip Gardens station Polish War Memorial Central Way Feltham station or High Street /Feltham Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre and Library Apex Corner/Harlington Road West
I think either of these routes would have potential particularly when the A312 is light and from observations the A312 isn't very packed so it would be nice to introduce an express route on the A312. Also it would provide a quicker connection for those travelling from Ruislip to Feltham who currently have to take several trains or the 90 which isn't the quickest of services

Could to save costs the N64/N250 be merged and the N52/N297 be merged?

Could to save costs the N64/N250 be merged and the N52/N297 be merged? Considering that the N159 was around as recently as 2010 the 64N/N250 merge could work

Could to save costs the N64/N250 be merged and the N52/N297 be merged? Even for night routes the N52/N297 would just be weird route with a big U shape cos your going all the way north to the Kingsbury then just going south to Ealing, whereas the N64/N250 could work as its more streamlined, I would say a N297 extension to somewhere like Heathrow would create more links. I know the N253 has a U-shaped route, but that is on a much smaller scale though, creating useful local links.
