Can't comment on the proposal in itself but surely if a Northumberland Park/Meridian Water to Walthamstow needed achieving surely the W8 could be diverted to Walthamstow with the 192 diverted to Picketts Lock?

Some fantasy suggestions:

Route 393: Extended from Chalk Farm to Camden Town. Would be a better place to terminate it than Chalk Farm esp with no Morrison's. We're now treading on even more fantasy ground, but perhaps an extension from Clapton Pond to Homerton could be quite useful via Pembury Road, Hackney Cent Stn & Morning Lane. This would create new links from Homerton Hospital to Upper Clapton Estates however there would be the argument that the 236/276 provide similar links along the rest of the route.

Route 425: Diverted between Homerton Hospital & Clapton via Hackney Central Station, would create new links deep into East London from Hackney. Potential to extend it to Stamford Hill but that would be completely be off the table with the extension to Ilford.

I would really would see if the 324 keep is Neasden bit as it replace the 972 it will be call to see the route as Elstree Centennial Park to Neasden Birchen Grove

Really treading on fantasy ground here again, but a W5 extension to Tufnell Park would be interesting. A Tufnell Park to Crouch End route would be a good addition to the local network IMO and would provide new local links, however I'm plopping it in here as ultimately it is very fantasy and I don't know whether much demand would be generated to justify the extension, along with stand space being an issue (not one unsolvable, though). Also the fact that the 4/134/390 provide adequate capacity from Archway to Tufnell Park would probably moot this.

Thank you for clearing it up makes a lot more sense now, yeah the 972 never seen that bus in all my time living around the area.

Diverted to Willesden Junction via route 232 to Neasden, 297 to Neasden Station, Neasden Lane, High Road, Church Road and route 266 to Willesden Junction. Rerouted between Burnt Oak and Edgware via Watling Avenue, Burnt Oak Station, Orange Hill Road, Deans Lane, Hale Lane and route 221 to Edgware. To link Colindale Asda with Burnt Oak Station, link West Hendon with Neasden, link Dollis Hill Lane with Neasden and to link Neasden with Harlesden and Willesden Junction.
316: extended from Cricklewood Bus Garage to Queensbury via route 32 to Burnt Oak and 114 to Queensbury. Converted to double deck. To link Colindale with Queensbury and to maintain lost links.
332: extended from Paddington to Acton via Bishop’s Bridge Road, Eastbourne Terrace, Craven Road, Westbourne Terrace, Sussex Gardens, Westbourne Street, Bayswater Road, Lancaster Gate, route 94 to Shepherds Bush and 207 to Acton. To link Acton with Paddington.
X16: new express route running between Edgware and Victoria via route 32 to Kilburn and 16 to Victoria. To maintain links.

New Route: 644

From Tooting Broadway (Of course there is no space in current stands however I think Nutwell Street could fit this, a lot of the time there can be 155/280s stopping there for a bit) to Wandsworth, or a bit further to Battersea High St (some schools are nearby). It would go down Tooting High St and then the 44.

I think Garratt Lane really needs a frequency enhancement in the peaks but a full route at all times would overbus the off-peak too much.

Instead of running for a certain school or at school times I think a few journeys could be scheduled between 7 and 9 AM and then between 3 and 6 PM to cover multiple schools, and up to 6PM to support PM peak crowds (especially when the 44/77/270 all show up at the same time, have a 10 minute gap and then come again at the same time full to the doors)

393 stands outside the new Morrisons which is still a fancy little link, don’t think demand would be there for Camden Town personally. The road from Kentish Town Road means that it would have to be rerouted via Camden Gardens and miss Kentish Town West, Chalk Farm station etc. Good idea though

I do think Camden would be a more useful place to end the route but I think if the new Morrison's can accomodate a bus stand then I'd say go ahead with that.

Yea its a temporary little building until the new Morrisons and estates are built up Tottenham Rise. There is a small stand outside Stables which can accomodate 1/2 buses and can turn around up which is perfect for the 393. The 27 however has been rerouted

I don't think there's any need for a 41 extension to Walthamstow "regardless" because the 41 runs at a 6 minute frequency which is definitely not justified and if there is a lack of capacity then a reinstatement of a 230 to an x12 frequency or upping the 123 to an x8 would do the trick as both routes seem to have the demand. I think the 41 should be steered away from regardless in regards to any changes because the route is fine as is and before the idea comes up, no I wouldn't even encourage it to be extended to Angel Road Superstores purely because the demand that high doesn't exist.
