396 extended to East Ham, Newham Town Hall via 147 and 376. A second route between East Ham and Ilford as I find it odd there is only 1 route that goes between East Ham and Ilford. Doubt the back roads could cope with another route! The 147 is busy but manages on that section! The last time there was two routes was in the early 90s when the D2 ran along the same roads.

I thought using the back roads would be better. Although as WH241 said, it is doubtful the back roads could deal with another route.

Route 326 re routed at Barnet Hill/Underhill to run straight up and down Barnet Hill.
The route is already long enough and goes through multiple busy areas and in the peak times especially you loose so much time just going to Dollis valley especially at Underhill because of the parked cars situation that I have been told Barnet council don't want to do anything about.
Dollis valley section being replaced by the 389 which would also be extended to East Barnet Village via Barnet Hill, Station Road, East Barnet Road, Brookhill Road, Cat Hill and return via East Barnet Road With a Frequency of 15/20 mins. This way the link between Dollis valley and Easy Barnet Sainsbury's isn't lost and the 326 can be more reliable.

Replacing the Dollis Valley estate routing with the 389 will result in longer journeys towards High Barnet for those living on Western Way. It's the sole propose of the 389 despite being the shortest bus route in London. I'm surprised the 326 is even surviving north of Dollis Valley being it takes an indirect routing towards High Barnet from Longmore Avenue with the 383 taking a more direct route towards High Barnet.

I was waiting for the 107 at Underhill the other day and watched some 326s sitting there for ages because of parked cars and the traffic lights, I can’t imagine how annoying that must get for usual passengers.

I agree about the 326, though the 383 is probably the best option to replace the Dollis Valley Way section, rather than involving the 389. Most of the 383 is also linked to Barnet by the 234/263/326, so making the 383 more indirect would be less of an issue. Or if Dollis Valley needs more than 2bhp, maybe even the 384 would be more ideal? Or even more frequent, instead just have the 184 serve a double run (from Manor Road) to the west end of the estate at Hera Avenue. This option would affect fewer through journeys, as the estate would be served after Barnet town centre. Just those going to/from Chesterfield Road would have a bit of added journey time (while speeding to journeys towards Finchley, Hendon etc on the 326).

Actually no because after serving Dollis Valley and Mays lane it would serve western way as normal towards Barnet. Also It's an infrequent route at the moment and most passengers I find walk to Underhill to get the 326 or something else or vice versa. I often get alot of passengers who get on at the spires or the high street then get off at Underhill and walk.

OK, this is a bit of a long shot, but: 99 rerouted between Erith and Bexleyheath via 229 B12 curtailed at the Joydens Wood end to terminate at Bexleyheath Town Centre and extended at the Erith end to Slade Green via 99 New route B10 to run from Joydens Wood to Bexleyheath Library via the current B12, then Bourne Road, the 96, and the 99

Reshuffling of buses in Bromley area:
358 split in two: one service between Bromley Common/ The Crown and Crystal Palace, the other between Bromley North and Orpington Station which will be converted to double decker operation
162 doesn’t serve Edgebury Estate and follows shorter 160 route between new eltham and eltham high street and converted to double decker
New bus route between Eltham Station and Chislehurst War Memorial, serving Chislehurst Town Centre, Edgebury Estate and Greenwich University
138 scrapped (not needed if 162 buses are double decker)
269 extended to Bromley Bus Garage/ Princess Royal Hospital on Bromley Common. Bus will serve Bromley South instead of Bromley North

Splitting it breaks a lot of cross Bromley links. Again remvoing the 162 from Edgebury Estate and Greenwich Uni removes their links to Bromley which no other bus route does I don't get what the 138 has got to do with the 162, they only share the same roads between Bromley and Hayes Lane. Part of Hayes Lane is only served by the 138 and 246 leaving it with jist a half hourly route if you get rid of the 138. Not sure why the 269 extension is necessary either

Not sure why the 269 extension is necessary either 358 split is necessary imo - the double deckers are the main benefit since there is the demand for it between Bromley and Orpington. Also this will improve reliability, the 358 is frequently curtailed at Penge to make up time lost- this wouldn’t happen as much after the split. There is little demand for a route from the University to Bromley - Greenwich tends to be the main town centre in that area that people want transport links to. There is demand from Edgebury Estate, however people from this area can either walk to stops on Edgebury or Green Lane which will be served by the new double decker route through Bromley, or can change at the War Memorial for frequent 269 services to Bromley using the hopper fare. Again the 162 being decked reduces pressure off the 138, since passengers on Westmoreland Road still have a fast and more capacious service to Bromley. Passengers in the Pickhurst area will only have to walk 300m more to reach a stop served by the 162/314, and two of these stops are also served by the 246 route. The only people who lose out are those in Coney Hall, who will have to walk a short distance to the main roundabout for Bromley bound services. The reasoning for the 269 extension is to serve Bromley South, a frustration for daily users is the lack of connection here. This service can be extended onto Bromley Common to find stand space, however there is space for a new stand on Ethelbert Road where the rail replacement buses often wait.

269 extended to Bromley Bus Garage/ Princess Royal Hospital on Bromley Common. Bus will serve Bromley South instead of Bromley North Not a fantasy idea imo. I think it might be a bit far to go all the way to PRH, but an extension to Bromley Common Crown would be exceptionally handy, quite aside from freeing up a bit of space at Bromley North. If of course the 269 becomes subsumed into Superloop with an extension to Croydon, it might be a moot point anyway!

Surely it would make more sense to reduce the frequency of the 138 rather than withdraw the route altogether. Unless passenger numbers are really low, then it's financially viable and beneficial to keep the service operating
