This would be awesome if Grand Prix came to LDN. As a huge formula one fan, I would love to see it in person.

I'd love to see a event like this happen, I would actually get tickets for this race at any cost.. ;D It would be quite astonishing to see anyone crashing into the gates of Buckingham Palace at 125mph cause a dent in them. Don't think the queen would be too happy on McLaren nor Ferrari if that were to happen.. ;D ;D

I have three words when it comes to the London Grand Prix; Never. Gonna. Happen
Don't get me wrong, I would love to see F1 race in the middle of London but there are just far too many obstacles not least potential damage to very old buildings. If there is ever going to be a London Grand Prix it will held around the Olympic Park, although one hopes they come up with something better than the proposal I saw last week

What's your take on today's race? Eventful, there seem to be more overtakes in Silverstone then there were in any other race this season. In the first 20 Laps all you hear is he moved up a place, etc. Which is quite fun to watch. Now I'm just concerned about McLaren's pace during Grand Prix's now as I do recall them being/had the fastest car on field in the beginning of the season, thus the upgrades. I hear EJ on the BBC was saying that McLaren need to gather what ever upgrades they can in order to improve there position in WDC and Constructors Championships. Which I personally agree on. Despite the McLaren lack of pace phase, I do think the FIA should seek further punishment on Pastor Maldonado as Perez claimed himself and other driver's on the field don't like his driving behavior, which in IMO appalling. €10,000 fine for his behavior is like a slap on the wrist for me.

My thoughts too on McLaren's lack of pace - it's quite disappointing considering as you said, they were very quick at the beginning. Equally surprising that Ferrari have done the opposite despite their winter show.
I think there's a lot more voices calling for sanctions against Maldonado. And considering the talent and potential between him and Sergio, I fear this will not be the end of it.
(On a side note it was amusing on the Forum to have seen my brother labelled "the best hair in all of Silverstone" ;D)

After a while since last discussion on this thread i thought to bring it up with probably the biggest story in the silly 2013 season.
Lewis Hamilton has made a decision which can go either ways. Mercedes cannot really afford to have a season like this when they start competitive and then slip down the order or vice versa. Lewis Hamilton is a man made to win and he would probably be fustrated that he might not have got a car to be able to compete for the championship.
Mercedes did state that they want to try and challenge for the championship in 2014 when regulations change. This might benefit Hamilton but whether the engine regulations will play into Mercedes favour remains to be seen.
I still think McLaren will be strong with Jenson Button and young hopeful Sergio Perez. There is now a big hole in the driver market and more could potentially be added as we are yet to hear the Felipe Massa fate and whether Michael Schumacher will retire. Luca Di Montezemolo did state that Sergio Perez was too inexperienced to actually drive for Ferrari, so does that suggest the two Force India drivers who have been linked to replace Felipe Massa are unlikely to? From today's announcement I believe Felipe Massa will partner Fernando Alonso but whether the rumours about Sebastian Vettel leaving Red Bull for Ferrari in 2014 comes true, who knows.
Kamui Kobayashi's seat looks a little bit more safer now with the departure of Sergio Perez but i do believe there is an opportunity for BBC 5 Live Analyst Jaime Alguersuari to return to F1 for a full drive in Sauber. For Michael Schumacher though it looks like he might hang up his helmet after 2012 as a result of today's announcements. But if he decides to go for another year could we potentially be seeing him return to Ferrari and replace Felipe Massa? It would be good to see how Fernando Alonso and the 7 times champion would get on.

Word has it that Thailand has made a big for a night street race in the city of Bangkok for the 2014 season. Quite astonishing, I must say.

Hamilton has simply followed the money. McLaren wouldn't grant him the freedoms he wanted with regards personal sponsors and I think he has been badly advised by his management company. I cannot see Mercedes being in a position to win races in 2013 and while being with a works team should, in theory, be an advantage when the new engine regs roll around in 2014, it will still take time for Mercedes to gel into a championship-winning team
We should see what Perez is made of now that he will be in a top line car; I have a suspicion Jenson Button won't have it all his own way at McLaren in 2013. I expect to see Michael Schumacher forced into retirement for the second time although it would be nice to see him turn up at Sauber or Williams. I think Sauber might end up with an all-new driver line-up because Kobayashi hasn't developed how he should have and Perez has outperformed him massively this year. I think Felipe Massa will get a one years stay of execution and somehow manage to cling on to his Ferrari seat
As for Thailand; I'll believe it when I see it. And do we really need another race in that part of the world? Never mind SE Asia, F1 needs to concentrate on getting the French Grand Prix back on the calendar and resurrecting the South African Grand Prix. Oh, and while we're at it, with the success of Sergio Perez, we really should have a Mexican Grand Prix back as well

Another decent race yet again with Ferrari and Red Bull doing what they do best. Although Ferrari did ruin the race at the last phrase of the race by giving Massa a team order to back off from Alonso so that he wouldn't overtake him where as Massa was faster than him in all 3 sectors. Although none of them manage to catch up to there gearbox.
Unfortunate for McLaren with JB going out in turn 3 due to Kobiyashi hitting him by accident while under braking and Hamilton having a dismal race from start to finish.
I just hope that Vettel wins the WDC yet again for the third time running.
On a funny note PSY was at the race waving the checked flag and having seeing EJ doing the Gangnam Style.

After today's race I think McLaren's chances of both titles are over. Both men conceded that it's too far for them. Jenson Button's chances really were over from mid-season as a result of his setup woes in the early part of the season. Lewis Hamilton had remained consistent in the first part of the year, however due to operational errors, incidents and reliability issues he finds himself 62 points behind with 100 still up for grabs. They had the fastest car on balance this season and they havent capitalised on it due to various issues, particularly the pitstops which have now been sorted.
Red Bull are looking unstoppable at the moment, various upgrades to the car since Singapore have really put them top dogs in the development race. And you have to say Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull are looking favourites to add 3 consecutive titles. A 1-2 today have really lifted their hopes for the constructors crown.
If Fernando Alonso wants to be champion then Ferrari need to improve the car otherwise it would be too difficult to say that Fernando would win a 3rd title. But you must say Massa is now looking hot favourite to retain his 2013 seat with Ferrari as a result of recent performances so well done to him.

From now I think this is one of the best interviews that's being shown live prior the swearing and David Coulthard getting crowned with Ross Water.. ;D ;D
Although the FIA weren't happy as per usual and given all 24 drivers a warning on swearing on Live TV and maybe during the radio.
