End of the Formula One 2012 season and with such a climax in the Brazilian Grand Prix, Vettel is crowned World Champion for the 3rd time consecutively by beating Fernando Alonso by a margin. I do feel for Alonso though as he did work hard for it as the F2012 didn't had the pace in Qualifying nor Grand Prix.
Next season, 2013 is defitnetly going to be a weird one for many reasons being:
Lewis Hamilton replaces the 7 time world champion Michael Schuamcher as 1st Driver I believe for Mercedes
Sergio Perez replaces Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren as 2nd Driver, Jenson Button becomes 1st Driver for McLaren
Massa still scrapping a year in the Ferrari hot seat next season baring his top form at the coming end of the season.
Jake Humpthery will be leaving the BBC Team which leaves Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard but who is the third man?
I do hope the 4 months will come fast and that McLaren will produce a better car in 2013. MP4-26

Absolutely loved the Brazilian Grand Prix even if, ultimately, I wanted Alonso and not Vettel to win the title. Delighted with Jenson Button winning although I would have loved to have seen Hulkenberg win the race for Force India
I haven't paid any attention to the BBC's coverage but I just assumed Lee McKenzie was going to take over from Jake. I have to say that I've been very happy with Sky's coverage. The only thing I'd change is to have Georgie Thompson take over from Simon Lazenby as the main anchor

I have to say that I've been very happy with Sky's coverage. The only thing I'd change is to have Georgie Thompson take over from Simon Lazenby as the main anchor Funnily enough I went the other way...I prefer the coverage on BBC1 - I have even on occasion (but not always) avoided all news etc so I could watch the BBC race for the first time. I think this is down to the presenting team: - I predicted Coulthard would be a disaster when he went over to commentary - I am pleased to say I was totally wrong. I very much enjoy his commentary and wit. Ben Edwards I am used to through watching CART on Eurosport in the late 1990s/2000s and Eddie Jordan is quite entertaining and usually manages to get drivers to talk to him or drag people over etc! Gary Anderson has been good value this year and I will miss Jake Humphries now he has left. On SKY, Simon Lazenby is awful, Damon Hill sends me to sleep, not keen on David Croft - Brundle, Herbert and co are OK. I think the whole SKY package just feels very dry, whereas the BBC coverage still has a bit of fun to it.... Still, onto 2013 now the FIA have said Vettel did not made an illegal overtake - take that Alonso!

Reports have it that the Austin Circuit, A1 Ring now known as Red Bull Ring is getting closer on the 2013 as the minutes go by. Other contenders were Turkish GP and off course the legendary track Mangy-Cours, Circuit De Nevers.
Me personally I would like the A1 Ring being brought back into the calender, as you have that nice long corner from turns 2-3 which leads up to turns 4 and 5 which seems a tad longer then the straight in Spa after turns 3-4.
I would of hoped that the Imola circuit would of been brought back for just one GP to mark the honor of Aryton Senna

With Formula One starting another season for 2013. Apparently, the live coverage of Qualifying has been delayed due to rain so I'm guessing huge downpours of rain and therefore, the Qualifying will be shown at 12pm.
However, it may be likely to be shown on BBC2.

The weather looks set to be dry and Red Bull were looking very good during Friday's running. Mercedes were not far off which is impressive considering their poor end to 2012. Also to note Ferrari and Lotus were amongst them. Not McLaren though...seems their gamble of changing things for the new car hasnt paid off...

However, it may be likely to be shown on BBC2. I Sky+ed qualifying and was glad I did when Q1 ended up being delayed by half an hour and Qs 2and 3 subsequently postponed. Granted, I was on fast forward for much of it but it didn't look that bad to me. I worry that F1 is getting far too safety-minded. These guys are supposed to be the best drivers out there; bolt on the extreme wets and go and drive slowly No, Australia was penciled down as Highlights so therefore it will be a delayed broadcast of the Qualifying at 5:15am on BBC1 Don't know why the BBC don't just bung qualifying on the beginning of their race highlights program. If you're going to get up to watch qualifying at 5:15am, you might as well find a mate who has Sky and watch the race live! (Which I shall be doing - might even pull an all-nighter since Sky appear to be going live at 23:45 all the way through to the end of the race!) Had a look at the forecast and the new qualifying times are forecast to be wet whereas the race should escape the rain I'm going to refrain from making any predictions and just enjoy the first race of the season. Albert Park is never a good indication of the season ahead anyway and the weather isn't going to help matters! And either way, my favourite teams (Williams and Caterham) are unlikely to win!

I can't remember the last time Australia had such heavy drown pours of rain at the beginning of the season. Normally it's usually dry in both Qualifying and Race day. Global Warming much. However, to Paul's post if I do stay up til 6AM GMT I should be able to watch the race via Live Stream pity as me gf's dad does have Sky although I don't have them kind of privileges yet..

Delighted for Kimi Raikkonen; that Lotus looks very fast and appears very kind on its tyres. Could be a great season for Lotus. But where did the Red Bull pace go?

Delighted for Kimi Raikkonen; that Lotus looks very fast and appears very kind on its tyres. Could be a great season for Lotus. But where did the Red Bull pace go? I believe Red Bull will still be the team to beat in 2013, despite their tyre issues that they experienced yesterday. It's apparent from Christian Horner that they set up the car wrong, and perhaps Vettel experienced wrong tyre pressures as it was cooler than expected. The thing that doesnt help Red Bull is the way their set up their gear ratios. Usually they set it up for the ultimate lap, and that only works if you are running at the front. However with Vettel caught up yesterday behind Sutil in the second stint you could see how hard it was for him to pass the Force India due to short gearing. Red Bull do need to consider sacrificing downforce slightly to make the car more raceable, it was proved in Abu Dhabi last year that Vettel was still quick with the longer gear ratios and the wing off. Well done to Kimi Raikkonen, Lotus have made progress from last year and how he managed one stop less? I don't know. The thing that amuses me is he felt the race was 'Too easy' which should give rivals like Ferrari a concern. McLaren....lets not go there. They have work to do but knowing them as proved in 2009 they can turn things around. To summarise, I think we have a clear picture towards the sharp end that Red Bull have the fastest car closely followed by Mercedes, Lotus & Ferrari. Although with mixed conditions this weekend this is not a defininite. We'll have to wait and see in Malaysia if it's so - This weekend!

Yes, Mercedes looked astonishing in both Qualifying & Grand Prix. Its a pity that the 7 World Time Champion couldn't produce that kind of atmospheric energy. However, this is just 1 race done on the season and the awkward thing is Hamilton finished ahead of his former team mate Jenson Button as well as Perez.

Perez was a gamble......should have gone with Di Resta (....mind you still hoping he might end up at Ferrari yet).

Mclaren unfortunately screwed up Perez in qualifying and the Mclaren car is nowhere near good enough.

They would have done but I did hear McLaren or Ferrari or both saying that Di Resta needs some more experience on the field. Maybe in 2 season's time he will replace Jenson Button.
