Perez was a gamble......should have gone with Di Resta (....mind you still hoping he might end up at Ferrari yet). They would have done but I did hear McLaren or Ferrari or both saying that Di Resta needs some more experience on the field. Maybe in 2 season's time he will replace Jenson Button. Actually, it was Luca Di Montezemolo who aimed that at Sergio Perez due to the high rumours at the time about a replacement for Felipe Massa.

Well, today says it all. Sebastian Vettel clearly should not have overtaken Mark Webber as an instruction was given out for both guys to maintain position. You cant really blame Mark for being so annoyed at him.
I don't think there's any case of favourtism as Webber suggested when he said 'He will have protection as usual'. Mark just deserved the win today and Sebastian made the error, simple as that.

Agreed, but at Mercedes, Hamilton is clearly the number driver there or Ross Brawn feels he is the most likely to win the drivers championship. It would have been interesting to see what Hamilton could of done if he didn't have to go into fuel saving mode. I hope these situations don't happen again because it could ruin the whole season let alone a race result. Also congratulations to Mclaren for scoring points in 60 consecutive races, despite their previous and current problems that is some achievement!!

Indeed. Depsite ignoring Team Orders etc, Vettel was still the fastest out of Webber in Sectors 1 & 2 in the closing stages of the race. Once he overtook him in turn 4 you could see Vettel pulling away from Mark Webber.
I just don't understand why Vettel was apologising at the end of the race to Webber even though he was given an instruction not to overtake him. My guess is for Media views and so forth.
I also do agree on Lewis Hamilton is favorite for winning the championship this year but it is early start to the season with him making 3 stops I think Mercedes still needs to work on there tyre strategy. But why would you give out team orders so early during the season.

So are you saying that he shouldn't apologise for his unsportsmanlike behaviour doing his own thing instead of racing for the team?

All I'm saying is Vettel made a stupid mistake and he knows it, during the race he was also asking Rocky or Horner or both at that point saying that he is faster then Webber in S1 & S2 round Lap 39+. Them lot didn't agree with his "Team Orders" thing and just wanted both cars brought home. Why say something now when he could of corrected him self on the track he had plenty of time to do this and yet he's sorry, even Horner said "Seb, that was silly you've got some explaining to do".

Once he overtook him in turn 4 you could see Vettel pulling away from Mark Webber Webber had his engine turned down - like he'd been told to do by the team; he follows team orders apparently.... That said, I can't fault Vettel for attacking. I don't like the concept of team orders and think every driver should be out there to win for themselves. What I can fault Vettel for is apologising after the race since the world and his wife knows he didn't mean it

No more Indycar on Sky Sports....now on ESPN (and i'm not going to pay more just for that - at least Sky Sports has other things that I watch).

I could have typed that myself I can't justify the additional cost of ESPN just for Indycar. This year is the first since 1993 that I won't be seeing any live Indycar, although I'm hoping that ESPN might have a freebie weekend as they have in the past. If it coincides with the end of May, so much the better

A third different winner this season and it's becoming interesting. Looks Like Lotus have the same pace of Ferrari but McLaren didn't look that dominate this year in China as from last year. I really do hope that Sergio Perez could pick up his confidence and become a better driver than he was at Sauber cause at the moment he's not really giving that kind of enthusiasm as he did in the Sauber last year. He's barely made it into Q3 on Saturday and yet again he finished out of the point zone yesterday. As I said before the Perez move was more of a gamble but I don't think he was the right replacement for Hamilton.
As of yet, Mercedes are still struggling with Tyre wear and that showed it in this Grand Prix with Roseburg stating he had Understeer in the tyres as well as oversteer and that the car was handing weirdly while Hamilton during the race had to fend off Vettel and he definitely did a good job on that, was hoping that Vettel would make a few mistakes in the final stint and he did.

I've read this elsewhere but I don't think we should read too much into the competitive order from China. This track was rather unusual as it is more front end limited. The front tyres were going off first before the rears. Teams like Red Bull would be disadvantaged due to their coanda exhaust being designed specifically for tracks that are rear-end limited like Bahrain this weekend - So expect them to be competitive again. Mercedes still have got the balance wrong with the performance of their car. It's quick over a single lap but it can't manage the tyres over a race distance. They are getting there though and there's no doubt they will win a few races this season.

I created this thread for Formula 1 fans. However, the main reason I created this is because of this article: mobile.formula1.com/news/headlines/2014/9/16341You can cleary see the tension between Lewis and Nico. The fact that they're even saying so much about it says a lot.

I hope Nico wins in Singapore and goes on to win the championship. I've been a Rosberg fan since his debut back in 2006 and would be delighted to see him win a World Title
