is it me or as that van got front end damage Not you! Apparently taking photos of damaged LTs is now prohibited - if you believe scribbled noticed tacked on the front of wrecked buses. Disgraceful attempt at censorship. Somebody has obviously put that note there as a joke so I don't think we need get too carried away with any theories about censorship!

UPDATE:- Following public outcry over 'appalling' conditions on the LT's due to lack of airflow, TfL have agreed to rectify the airflow issues in a handful of buses as a trial. LT151's experimental cooling system is put thru it's paces on Route 10 earlier (photo courtesy of FB group) Oh dear, just as things couldn't get any worse for the LTs this time of year...To be fair LT151 looks like a breeze to ride now!

Illiterate as well I took lots of photoes of my potatos yesterday ( rofl ) Joking aside it does look like a very shoddy (and illiterate) attempt of censorship which someone from even a fairly short distance might not see.

Censorship? If somebody wanted to prevent the bus being photographed do you not think they may have used more than a tiny piece of paper?

Without sounding like a STUCK record I really REALLY struggled on a 8 batch LT this afternoon (the batch said to as having good AC by some) on route 15 today. I was watching other passengers moving around on the top deck trying to find a cool spot! it really was truly awful! I've only rode one LT on the 8 but the air cooling wasn't working. Surprisingly, on my travels yesterday, the coolest bus I had was a 52 reg Trident not far away from your manor in East London lol. On a serious note, it put other younger buses I used yesterday to shame in that department. You must be extremely unlucky as just yesterday I caught LT242 and it was cooler than any E400 or any other bus that I've been on. In fact this was around the 4th bus I'd caught this week on the 8 and each one of them was pretty cool.

I have never seen so many passengers genuinely looking uncomfortable. You wouldn't transport animals in conditions like that.

"Jawohl mein TFL gruppefhurer. I am taking photos of the A/C system, not of your piece of paper as it says"

TBH passengers are on the bus for what? an hour or less?
and then
The Pilot 'aka the driver' driving 8 hours plus with no air con is a bit much, blowing warm air all day....
....after a little discussion with a stagecoach driver a few days ago regarding air conditioning, I said they probably do not re-gas the air-con he said they take the belts off so that there is no air con unit isn't driven at all for the driver, for me passenger comfort begins with driver comfort.
All about PROFIT (Screw the driver, he is a a Donkey)

I travelled on a 9 and an 11 yesterday (allegedly 28deg) and both were surprisingly comfortable on upper deck, plenty of cool air blowing out. Not so pleasant on bottom deck, no circulation. I say "surprisingly" as my previous journeys on hot days were last year, on 11, 24 and 148, and all were unbearable. So maybe things have improved. If so it's now down to maintenance, vigilance and reporting of specific vehicle failures. TfL needs an overheating hotline!

Well as a person who used to take those buses on a daily basis and who still takes them regularly, they do have working air con. There was once when the air con wasn't working but I've been on that same bus several times before and after and those other times it was working fine, so I think it is a matter of being unlucky.

Either the air con is fine and you've been unlucky once or twice, or the air con doesn't work and I've been really lucky dozens of times. I somehow suspect it's the first one.

Untrue, The Air-Con is serviced as part of the MOT schedule. Belts are checked every service and if found to be missing then are replaced...

Seems I've been really 'lucky' today. I have ridden on LT64 on the 11, LT422 and LT454 on the 12, LT33 on the 24, LT491 and LT538 on the 73, LT122, LT139 and LT144 on the 148 and they were all absolutely fine with plenty of cool air coming through the vents, yes some were a bit hot on the lower deck but no more so than any other type of bus. I suspect that I haven't been lucky at all and that is the norm and the only hot air on this subject has come from the regular complainants who clearly have a hidden agenda?
