Been on several LTs in the recent hot weather and all pleasantly cool on top deck, and acceptable on lower. Also saw an opening-window-fitted bus on 168, so they've reached W. Not sure what remains not to like, from the passenger point of view. That's been very much my experience too during the recent hot spell, and yes what will there be left to moan about when opening windows are fitted?Would you like a list?

Err..............fare evasion? (Genuine gripe) Other than that...................................too many dead flies on windscreen?

From my observations, I've seen/travelled in windowed vehicles on the 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 24, 55, 59, 68, 88, 91, 137, 148, 149, 159, 168, & 390. Saw two today on the 59 - maybe I've not being paying enough attention lol.

Does the SRM have any ventilation or A/C on it? Because i looked at the pictures of it and there are no windows. But if there isn't, will Windows be retrofitted onto them? I had a journey two weeks ago on one of the 73's New Routemasters with the new Windows on them, and they didn't help at all. It was packed and I was sweating so much! Why didn't they include some sort of ventilation in the original design??

Half way to boiling point !! - the rear stair / "conductor" area of a NB4L. Funnily enough, 2 Saturday's ago, I boarded a 68 LT (not on purpose, just was the first bus that turned up) at Holborn. As I was only going to Aldwych, I decided unintentionally to stand next to the rear staircase and you can feel the heat radiating out without even needing to touch it.

Why didn't they include some sort of ventilation in the original design?? They all have air cooling but a large number of them simply blow out warm/hot air or don't work at all. I've yet to try one with windows but that's worrying that you've had a LT with windows that was little help in being cool.

24 days to go to convert tens, if not hundreds, of Boilmasters to opening windows. Anyone think TfL and their contractors will manage it?
Anyone got a clue how many have actually been done? In recent jaunts to do some snapping I kept seeing a great many NB4Ls with the original windows.

If an LT has faulty air cooling, no amount of opening windows will make a jot of difference, I'm afraid. I was on LT665 (the one that went to Singapore when new) with opening windows last month. All windows open, and so unbearably hot on both decks I had to leave the bus after three stops. The hot air blowing out of the 'cooling' system trumps the opening windows, it seems.

In recent jaunts to do some snapping I kept seeing a great many NB4Ls with the original windows. As far as I know the majority of LTs at BW, HT, S and SW have gained opening windows, but I don't know if any other garages' LTs have gained opening windows. What surprises me that the fact the recent influx of them don't have opening windows.

Which is why there was no point in implementing opening windows on LTs in the first place as a measure to allegedly enable a cooler environment when it doesn't, a waste of money really. The money could be better spent towards making their Air Cooling systems actually work. Save for some of them working wonders on certain buses, I suppose the same could be said for other buses too. Personally, opening windows should be erradicated on all buses and replaced by effective Air Cooling systems, with vents to allow air inside for the sake of freshness.
