Good news. I'm a fan of the 379s, and it's criminal they've been allowed to sit gathering dust for 2-3 years when they are quality trains. Are the 387s shifting anything out of Southern do we know yet? I see mention elsewhere of some extra services from next year in inner London to London Bridge. I've been told this is to increase rolling stock capacity, but did also see a message that it may result in some 377's going to Soitheastern but I can't confirm that To be confirmed on the latter point…

Does anyone know why a Class 700 was on the Sutton to West Croydon line yesterday, I spotted it underneath the bridge that carrys the tram over the line?

Was chatting to a colleague today, and nothing officially mentioned about 377's moving to SE, but it may just be any news hasn't reached our department yet

The worst kept secret in the rail industry has finally been confirmed by the DfT - GTR will be getting the Class 379’s for Great Northern. This will result in a cascade in 387/1’s heading to Southern. www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/007878-2024The 379’s have also been purchased by Porterbrook. At least this has finally been announced, the 379’s should be added to the Project Aurora programme after Southeastern’s 377/5’s are done. Also talks going on for additional 377’s (377/1’s) to SE as a short term loan (replacing some Networkers which has been mentioned in this thread) until the DfT finally agree for SE to get new trains

379006 for the record hauled by 57303. Won’t see them in service for a little bit, they need a tidy up, GN Stickers internally and externally. PIS upgrades & Driver training. They aren’t compatible with 387’s, so are scheduled to be on PIXC services when they eventually come into service
