So I have to say, after returning from a short break in Barcelona, I travelled on my first LT as a regular customers as opposed to a 'spinner' on Wednesday on the EL3, and again Thursday and Friday.
Now I know they have their faults, but if I'm completely honest, they're actually quite nice. On Thursday I boarded an EL3 at Barking Station at around 5.45, the bus stop as usual was "all men for themselves pushing in" I nipped on through the back door, straight upstairs and got a seat. I like the moody interior lighting, the interior colour scheme is actually quite nice and I love the glazed staircase.
Yes they do have their faults, there's too many backward facing seats, I banged my head earlier getting into the seats at the front upstairs and there could be a tiny bit of extra legroom.
As much as I hate to say it, I'm starting to grow a bit fond of them. It's just a shame Blue Triangles cleaning regime isn't up to scratch and looking closely, the ones on the EL3 are starting to look a bit grubby- some of the internal panels must have been cleaned with dirty water as they're showing water marks. If the LTs are going to be a success and be as prestigious as initially planned, RR really need to get on top of this. As much as I'd prefer an MMC or E400-city, the LT is OK.
Just one other minor niggle, some of the LTs show Barking Reach and others show Barking Riverside.

All the EL1s show Barking Riverside and announcements on the EL1 claim the final destination is Barking Riverside. The lack of consistency between the EL1 and EL3 is so irritating

Good Evening, New user here. When the new tender for the EL routes were announced I wanted to put my views across as I live in the new development in Barking Riverside. Not a fan of the new routemasters as I think they are not particularly suited for the route, my only concern is the routeing between Thames Rd and Mallards Rd during the peaks. Bad parking doesn't help. Only positive change is the quicker journey to Barking station via EL3. I will see how the route performs with EL1/EL3 with the new routemasters in the coming weeks. tangytango.proboards.com/thread/9713/tender-results-29th-july-2016Read at your own risk; there may or may not be a lot of crying at the bus type awarded. If you were to ignore the excessive length of the LT, its 3 doors and 2 staircases would prove useful in reducing dwell times (time spent at bus stops). So give it a couple weeks, Joe & Jenny Public would adapt to the new bus type. Though I find the things ugly (but not as bad as Gemini 3), LTs do come with comfortable seats and a higher standard of care for its (TfL's) buses. I've already ridden a clean EL3; holding onto that image before the clientelle of the area starts trashing buses as if they live in a landfill. And btw, hello neighbour! I have had a few journeys to EL3 and the partial re-routeing has made some journeys to Barking Station quicker which is a positive albeit certain driver handovers. I had noticed a few LTs suffering from kerbing damage which is not unexpected. Is there a time frame for EL1 type conversion? Some of the intended LTs have started to appear on route 76.

It's stated on the official chenges documents that LTs will be 'progressivel phased' onto the route. Anyone here who has observed previous LT conversions knows that could take a couple months until a route gets fully converted to 100% LT operation. But you are indeed correct when you state NbfLs from RR are on the 76. Tbh, I can never keep up with GAL's musical buses so I haven't a clue for the EL1's coversion timeframe!!

There is no single date for EL1 and EL2, the honest answer is as soon as Wrightbus can deliver them. Not sure how many are built but LT950 was photographed on test in Northern Ireland over week ago. As already stated short term some are on loan between EL routes and route 76 as that had a specific start date due to new contract. EL3 also had specific start date. I think the EL routes are allocated LT903-953, the ones upto LT902 are for 76 TfL finance docs show that delivery has been accelerated (more capital spent on new buses this year than budgeted). I think I read somewhere the last of 1000 is due for production in June, so they will all be dispatched before summer factory shutdown. LT954- are for Arriva routes 254 and 48

It looks like EL1/3 will be extended further into the riverside development from the 3rd September, most probably to coincide with the opening of term of the new Riverside school.

LT939 seems to have become the first branded bus. You guys are in for a surprise if you haven't seen it

Not working for me but then I'm not on Facebook so I assume it's one of those hidden pages. I've looked on the main Londoner facebook page and their website but nothing there.

It did, thanks. So just a simplified variant of the old branded livery to cope with the somewhat different design of the NB4L. Yawn.

It's not too surprising, though I didn't expect it to wrap around the front of the bus. The livery itself isn't too bad but the placement of the logos seems very messy. In my opinion it would have looked so much better had the East London Transit writing been where the adverts would usually go, with everything else in their normal positions. As it is the ELT name looks squashed at the front, the roundel too far forward and slightly low, and the Go-Ahead logo almost lost and seemingly randomly placed.
I'm assuming that's a "cleaner air for London" hybrid logo to the rear of the roundel, which I thought LTs weren't supposed to have (none were delivered with hybrid logos after the first 40, though I'm not sure whether the reasoning was that everyone knew they were all hybrid or that they look smarter without them). Though this isn't the first to receive them as RATP applied such stickers to many of the LTs based at V.

I think your a little bit kind to it lol - for me, the livery sat really well on the WVL's as if it was designed with that design in mind but here, the whole package looks really awkward especially the text - as you say, just swap the 'East London Transit' text with the Go-Ahead logo and also reposition the rounded slightly higher as it personally doesn't look right.
