LT920 seen today with the ELT livery. On top of that 2 new bus stops on top end of Mallards Road have been erected today. Its nice to see that some progress seems to have been made on preparing the extension, its far closer than it feels now. I did take a ride on the EL2 to Dagenham Dock the other day and could see what looked like the new bus stand for the EL1 and EL3 under construction. However it didn't look like the road leading to that bus stand was ready, but they've got three weeks to sort that out. Some progress indeed. Looking around where the school is they are making some provisions to allow the bus to terminate there. The completion of the bridge access to link up Crossness Road and Handley Page Road is delayed until June 2018. From what I understand is that EL1 will be extended to the school but next week is cutting it short and currently cars are parked up on Mallards Road. No notices have been given to the residents to stop parking there.

The countdown map for the EL1 has been updated already as far as the school, but not up to Crown Street, which is where the buses are supposed to terminate. Does this mean the buses will serve the new stand at Crown Street on a later date?

Crown Street will definitely not be ready before then, they have not started the next phase of the housing development yet. It will most probably be in line when EL3 gets rerouted next year. From what I gather the turning point will be near the school (Drovers Road - Only bus access). This should be ready by 2nd September.

I looked at the TfL consultation earlier and it looks like several bits of road infrastructure are running way behind schedule with consequential issues for when bus routes can be rerouted. Unless I am missing something fundamental I can't see why building a relatively simple bridge and normal local road highways should run so late. Has someone not put in things like water mains, telecoms, gas and electricity infrastructure for where new houses will be built thus stopping the roads being laid out?

When I did pass the proposed Crown Street Bus Stand on the EL2 I was very skeptical about it being ready on time, the new stand is clearly visible but the roads were not laid out and there was nothing else actually there besides a load of construction vehicles. I wonder how the EL1 will turn around at the school.

We had a resident meeting a few months ago warning us that the link would be late due to the delay in getting the contractors to start work. The next phase of housing that is being built around the link has started so hopefully this would coincide with the construction of the bridge. As you say it is indeed a relatively simple link and it should have been completed this spring. It isn't even accessible for traffic except for EL3. Today we received notices via SMS and some notices have been put on lamp post that EL1 will definitely be rerouted on the 4th of September (Start of school term)

I also wonder if any effort will be made in terms of blinds to show that the EL1 and EL3 do not both terminate at the same place at Barking Riverside. Maybe the EL3 could revert to using the "Barking Reach" blinds that are on the set while the EL1 continues to use the "Barking Riverside" blinds.

Traffic signals have been turned on at the junction of Handley Page Rd and River Road. Hopefully some provisions would be made with the blinds.

We received another SMS notification yesterday that parking restrictions will be active again on Mallards Road from the 4th Sept and buses will start running depending on how quickly residents move their cars. TFL has updated the consultation page on Friday, where it says the extension is only Monday - Friday 6am to 9pm and a starting date of 11th September. Term starts tomorrow so I will observe what happens Next year as mentioned a few days ago coincides with EL1/EL3 further changes too consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/el1-387/

I really hope that they have some form of differentiating these two different termini on the blinds, especially if buses are only going to be extended for certain times during the day. I also see the first bus through the extension is probably going to be a bit of a lottery Nobody knows when it will start exactly

Mallards Road is completely clear of on street parking so 11th Sept should see EL1 run through to Riverside Campus I've been wondering what was going on. The ETAs on all of the EL1s on LVF suggest that they have been running through to the school however they seem to stop tracking in the Thames View Area.

As expected Riverside Campus opened and EL1 extended to the campus. The few LT's I observed were still blinded as 'Barking Riverside'. Not sure if they will distinguish between the two terminus now.
There were some confusion with school children hopping from EL3 and running to the new bus stop on Mallards/Minter Road.
