Thank goodness Boris did the right thing and left the contest race for PM, a massive sigh of relief. Yeah, but Michael Gove lied about wanting to be PM and announced his candidacy It much rather Johnson be PM than Gove -_- I'd much rather Gove than someone who messed up London so much with ridiculous ideas that had no benefit whatsoever and a moron who does not remotely befit the role of a leader.

True, but I fear that Gove may have some extreme ideas and plans up his sleeve if he does become the PM. We shall just have to wait and see...

While Boris still has sizeable support, Gove is very good at alienating people with his absurd proposals. So we go back to two very poor leaders depending on if Corbyn survives the revolt.

While Boris still has sizeable support, Gove is very good at alienating people with his absurd proposals. So we go back to two very poor leaders depending on if Corbyn survives the revolt. I think there will be some horrible downsides regardless of who the candidate is. They all have dubious aspects to their thinking, their characters, their past actions and their moral standing / beliefs. Even worse with Gove - imagine having the poisonous Mrs Gove (Sarah Vine) inside no10. It doesn't bare thinking about. They'd have to chemically treat the floors inside no 10 with her dripping poison from her pores all the time. Boris was only ever a front man at City Hall. He was very fortunate to have Sir Simon Milton and then Sir Eddie Lister as his key "right hand man" at City Hall. Having Isabel Dedring at transport for the last 3-4 years also rescued him after the incompetence and dithering of Kulveer Ranger. Much as it galls me to say it Andrew Gilligan managed to provide some focus on cycling matters in Bozza's second term but he's gone now. The only decisive things that Boris ever did was to sack Sir Ian Blair as Met Police Commissioner and to buy second hand water cannon (which earned him a scathing response from Teresa May). Everything else was pretty peripheral and not really terribly important. His "larger than life" character managed to ensure he escaped any real scrutiny from the mainstream media. It was only a subset of London focused media people who made the effort to understand what was and was not happening. They are vindicated today because they knew what many in the Tory party have long understood - a lack of competence and clear, focussed thinking from Bozza. He's managed to face in multiple different directions on key policy issues depending on what the audience was. You simply can't do that as Prime Minister and Gove also knowing this wandered along with a knife, dutifully provided by Rupert Murdoch, and plunged it into Bozza's back. Isn't politics wonderful? [1] [1] it isn't but the ability of "colleagues" to be absolute bleeps to each other and to have hatreds a mile deep is truly astounding.

Yeah, but Michael Gove lied about wanting to be PM and announced his candidacy It much rather Johnson be PM than Gove -_- Gove stabbed Boris in the back after Boris stabbed Cameron in the back. It is claimed that Boris wanted to remain, but merely campaigned to leave to bolster his standing with Conservative party members, thereby enhancing his chances of succeeding Cameron at number 10. Amber Rudd was so right to claim that the only number that interested Boris was the sign with number 10 on it.

Thank goodness Boris did the right thing and left the contest race for PM, a massive sigh of relief. He should be locked up in the Tower for London for the rest of his life given the monumental chaos he has caused in the last week and now he swans off. [ loads of swear words ] Michael Heseltine expressed a view about Boris not a million miles away from your own point.

[ loads of swear words ] Thats exactly what I thought! I think the fact that Boris caused all this chaos and doesn't stand for Prime Minister *could* trigger a second EU referendum (although it is unlikely to happen) There was a demonstration in central London yesterday demanding another referendum to compensate for how Leave voters were misled eg over £350 million more for the NHS and prospect for cutting immigration. Although I am disappointed by the result, I do not see the point of a second referendum at this stage. I think many of the public have had enough politics for now anyway! The actual timing for a second referendum would be when a Brexit negotiation has been formulated between the government and the EU, probably late 2018. Then the public can choose between leaving the EU on the terms agreed, or remaining in the EU after all. Demographics and perceptions may have changed by then anyway, which would render the vote 10 days ago out of date.

I'm afraid 'Tarzan' has zero credibility, he suggested that the result of the referendum should be ignored, funny that he wasn't saying that before polling day!

So Theresa May has given an absolute text book performance on how to become prime minister without even picking up a knife to stab anyone in the back - keep your gob shut during a contentious campaign - smile sweetly and still say nothing - plan your campaign for years in advance - wait for the result you didn't want - wait for the PM to resign - "suggest" you might wish your name to go forward as party leader - watch as your competitors fall by the wayside in pools of blood, knives, shattered nerves and recriminations - wait for the MPs to come fawning at your door - glide effortlessly into number 10 while brushing Mr and Mrs Cameron out the back door. If nothing else the Tory Party know they exist to exercise power for themselves and their supporters and deal with this sort of stuff pretty ruthlessly.

Though I doubt this 'May Day' we'll get a Bank Holiday

And now we have :- Multi millionaire Hammond as Chancellor Chief wire hanger and joking egotist Johnson as Foreign Secretary Hastings MP and clueless former Energy Secretary as Home Secretary David "no spy legislation or else I resign" Davies as Minister for Brexit Liam *I'm a clueless liar and I've got a friend called Adam" Fox as International Trade Secretary. George "white powder and hi-vi fan" Osborne summarily sacked and cast to the back benches This is either folly on a massive scale or a fantastic way for May to cast all the "oh sorting out Brexit will be so easy" politicians into oblivion when they find the going rather more difficult than they thought and fail to achieve what she has demanded. The next couple of years is either going to be hugely entertaining (if you're a masocist) or else like the last three weeks only magnified 1,000 times as we stagger from one political idiocy to the next. And don't even get me started on the "opposition". That's even more of a joke. Meanwhile Cher seems to have an opinion about one appointment. Also seems to be a bit of problem near Vauxhall.

Oh he'll just call the Chinese a load of ****** **** ping pong playing ******** and the North Korean leader * *** ***** (based on his past use of diplomatic language when referring to other countries, races and leaders). Asterisks used to avoid offence.
