We must be in some parallel in universe at this point No, just a number of top countries putting in less than steller performances - only Italy out of the big teams has generally played well bar the Austria game, everyone else for me has been mixed or unimpressive. Holland fell apart once down to 10 men, Spain got out of jail against Croatia & France turned up for about 30 minutes of the whole 120 minutes - I mean, Xhaka is a totally different player when he plays for the national side, spraying balls around like it was Pirlo out there.

Certainly was an interesting game today, I think there was a huge mistake by Deschamps taking Griezmann off that early, I think Griezmann would have certainly made a difference if he was still playing.
I think the ultimate downfall for France though was subbing Giroud on and expecting him to work with Mbappe. Both are in a feud which is no secret and Mbappe at least didn't put this to a side on the pitch. There were two chances where the ball should have been squared to him but instead Mbappe passed it to Sissoko on one of them, who was on completely the other side of the pitch and then just tried to score from a really off angle the second time. I won't blame Mbappe for missing the panelty though, luck plays a huge factor in these and in the end his attempt was just unsuccessful.
Spain vs Switzerland will be an interesting game, Spain haven't turned up this tournament apart from half of the past two matches, I think Spain should be the team which wins on paper but I won't jump the gun so early there. Looking to tomorrow there's certainly a part in me that hopes England can pull it off, they've got a better chance than ever of reaching the final, and putting up a good fight there. Almost certain that Italy or Belgium will be who reach the final from the other side, but Spain wouldn't be a huge upset either. I reckon whoever wins out of England or Germany tomorrow will be go goes to the final, but it could also potentially be Denmark depending on how things go.

Two remarkable games today. I thought Switzerland deserved it, the penalty save looked like being a turning point and within a few minutes France were in front and seemingly had it won at 3-1 and maybe some complacency set in but all credit to the Swiss for getting back into it.

I'm going for a 3-1 win for Germany - I just can't see England performing better than Germany.

Think this is a realistic prediction, I think many people have got ahead of themselves over how good England are. They had a relatively weak group and while Germany is arguably a lot less powerful than they used to be, they still steamroll England stats wise. Switzerland toppled an expectation yesterday, but this is the exception rather than the norm. Germany after seeing both Spain and France yesterday know how easy it is to blow a lead so I would assume they will play accordingly. Southgate is also being completely silly if the rumours of Saka being benched again are true, Sancho and Bellingham are still on the bench and we're just heading for defeat if all reliance is on Kane again who's been dropping a stinker this tournament as it is.

Probably because the fans aren’t screaming for his head every 5 minutes As an Arsenal fan, I can tell you he is a liability most of the time putting in stupid challenges at the wrong time, picking up needless red cards and giving away penalties. He really should of been sold last season after disrespecting the shirt so to blame the fans is missing the point - Arsenal only get the Xhaka from the national team in small bursts because he usually undoes any good with stupidity hence why he is close to moving to Roma and I’m quite pleased about that

Solid defensive performance from England. Another Kane no show, but quality from Sterling and Saka saves the day. My heart says 4-0 England with a Kane hat-trick by half time. Come on England!! 🏴 🦁🦁🦁 I’m hearing rumours of a 3-4-3 formation. Would be a positive move if true. We’ll know in the next 30 mins or so.

I do see a narrow England win, possibly in extra time. It’ll be a bit of a nervy performance but I think we’ve got enough in the tank to beat this German side. Hoping the rumours about Saka playing are true - he played well against the Czechs and certainly deserves another shot. Come on England!!! 🦁🦁🦁🏴🏴🏴

Southgate. Please please please get Harry Kane off the pitch. How could he miss a near open goal.

Not sure why on earth he is still being hailed as an English hero on the pitch, ignoring the bottled chance just now he's been poor this entire tournament. Really think Calvert Lewin or Sancho should be replacing him but I doubt Southgate will do that.

Don't think Southgate should take the blame at that time, he probably didn't know Kane would muck up that bad. But the fact Kane is still playing is something that's amusing me.
