I was in Upton Park and came across a bus stand on Stukeley Road (between Boleyn Road and Neville road). Does anyone know which bus route uses / used to use it? It’s on a narrow residential road so not sure if any DD route could even get there

Buses are cleared for that road as they've diverted down it before in service, quite the sight seeing them go through that road though.

Then in 2018, the markings disappear and parking bays are placed instead, blocking any bus from standing at that location. Surely this must mean that it can't be used as a working stand anymore..? link

It was originally located oddly between the mechanics' two shutters near Plashet Road, and screams legacy stand as there was no possibility of a normal double decker in 2005 (when I started going past it daily after school) fitting in the cage and not blocking the entrance to the mechanics. Soon after the bus flag was relocated outside the cash and carry (or what used to be), it was claimed as a parking bay as TfL and/or Newham council didn't paint out a bus cage for the new stand position. Eastlondoner62 all Green Street routes bar the 58 have Stukeley Road allocated as a stand, one assumes it's reverted to turning point now. But in the brief time the new stand was in effect, I have seen the 104, 238, 330 and even 376 stand on Stukeley Road!

The stand on Kew Green (marked Waterloo Place, which as far as I'm aware doesn't even exist) has finally been covered up. I've lived in Kew all my life and have never seen a bus using it, it's puzzled me for ages. Never seen it on 65 or 391 tender specs. Does anyone know why it was put up in the first place?

The last time I saw buses use this stand was when 27s turned short here, or the Sunday extension of the 7 in Gold Arrow days. .

Didn’t one of the 800 series Mobility routes during the 90’s stand at Kew Green?

I have seen it used by rail replacement buses on breaks (and on one occasion pointed a lost RRS driver in its direction when he got confused with his map). Otherwise, I think the last scheduled use was for the 7's Sunday extension which ceased in 1996.

What are the current stand arrangements for each route at West Middlesex Hospital (since the H22 reroute and the 481's DD conversion)?

Whilst daringly walking the back streets of Peckham to Elephant with a date last Thursday, I encountered a new turning point on the 136: Albany Road, Burgess Park.
I imagine buses go up to Old Kent Road Tesco to turn around. If anyone can confirm this to me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I think they turn round at the roundabout where the 168 and 415 turn around.

It's been three months since the closure of the London Road stand in Barking. A few stands for up to 10 buses have replaced the 9 space stand:
-for two buses to the east of eastbound North Street stop -for up to three buses to the west of eastbound North Street stop -for up to three buses at the Abbey Road roundabout -for two buses on James Street, sandwiched between the car park and London Road
Toilets: located at James Street and Abbey Road stands. In the past week, the original toilet at the private stand has recently been decommissioned. Drivers have parked opposite Asda to use it, one assumes personal preference as all toilets have been operartional since Christmas.
Rail replacement buses: tend to mostly use the James Street stand as it avoids most of the traffic in Barking town centre. Trouble is there are usually three rail replacements (LO-T) on stand and the stand can only facilitate two; some pavement mounting is partial there. Drivers are also closer to Asda for the food on offer.
Route 169: the only route to terminate at London Road. Drivers use any of the London Road stands opposite Barking Abbey, but tend to use the stop closer to Asda. One presumes so drivers get to the first stop quicker. The 169 drivers used the Abbey Road roundabout at the start but mostly for toilet facilities, then deffered to stopping outside Asda to the TfL toilet still in use. It's probably an easier spot for driver changeovers as well. The only stand the 169s haven't used is James Street as it would involve a convoluted way to serve the first stop. The 169 drivers have made use of James Street to head back to BK quicker though.
Other Routes: most short turning buses use the London Road stands, predominantly the one closer to the roundabout as it is bigger & easier to pull out from. Buses for the Z2 (Ensignbus) used the London Road stands before the private one opposite Asda was operational. Now they mostly use the James Street stand. The 366 drivers also like to take their evening breaks mostly at James Street.

I believe the James Street stand isn't officially cleared for the 169 to use, although as you say it doesn't stop it being used. I do wonder why the last stop isn't officially made North Street, buses have to run past it out of service and it will be the slightest bit more useful for all the new housing popping up.
