I recommend doing the full 319 route, I enjoyed it. What I would say is that Sloane Square isn’t a great place to be turned off a bus, especially as the final stop on the 319 is on the opposite side of Sloane Square to the tube station when in reality there’s nothing to prevent the final stop being the 319’s stand which would mean passengers had a far shorter walk to the tube station Actually thinking about I have done full route just had brain freeze lol. The same day I got the 249 now that's a very good route. I love the 249

I’d imagine TFL have created a new set of proposals to try to get around all the criticisms the Kings Road lobby lobbed at them. TFL probably should cut the 11 and 19 to improve their reliability but whatever it is will be a massive climbdown. I see a 19 cut to Sloane Square (stand space permitting) and a Fulham Broadway to Trafalgar Square/Aldwych 311 I thought before of cutting the 11 to Sloane square but never mentioned it on here as there is no stand space at all. I Saw on a comment section of a local newspaper that someone said that if 19 gets cut, the 319 should terminate at green park or Piccadilly circus as the 19 is now staying as it is not much point but do you think it was a good idea if 19 did get cut? When the plans for Kings Road were published, I said that if the 19 was cut (which I regarded as insane) then at least the 319 should be extended to either Piccadilly Circus or Oxford Circus, whichever one the 22 was not going to terminate at. The link to Battersea would then take in a much larger area, rather than just the bit hugging the bridge. The 311 was always a silly compromise, other than re-introducing a Victoria to Mayfair route in a rather unsatisfactory form.

It's a nice route but is a little dull nowadays as the best vehicles it had are all long gone - the L's & the DLA's I used to get the 249 daily, back when I was in school, it is indeed a nice and unique route. Back then, it was mainly operated with DLAs and VLAs. Although the DLAs were decent, I personally felt that the former B9TLs, the 249 had, were probably better peforming vehicles, in comparison to DLAs, especially up various hills like Streatham Common North and Anerley Hill. I do remember some DLAs being rather sluggish up Streatham Common North, then again, that could've been all dependent on the driver's driving. The B5LHs are not so bad as well, nothing too amazing, but they definitely do pack somewhat of a punch up hills and inclines.

This is a forum where members are interested in various different aspects of buses and are very much welcome to talk about them. If there are elements you aren't interested in, so be it but it's advisable not to criticise people for having perfectly reasonable discussions on things that interest them! Thank you!
